Diplomacy: Ryujin has a vendor in the lobby that sells an amp that will give you +15% diplomacy and you will never need to equip anything else on your clothing head slot. That vendor also sells suits that give 5% diplomacy and suits that give +10% diplomacy (the second only available if you do some of the Ryujin story I believe). Correction: The change in cost of registering a ship from your menu rather than through the vendor only happens when you have the commerce skill. If you don't have commerce, the cost is the same.
The best tip is to keep those companions on the ship or in outpost, and hire general companions - they are the "yes wo/man". They'll happily take over ships with you and you can't marry them so you aren't risking the relationships. I found one that has marksman type skills. Simeon Bankowski I found him at The Viewport.
12:35...Does this Awesome Tip work with , all weapons in your inventory.....Drop them, then Pick them up ?? 13:47...I am finding a lot of these Magazines, with bonus's ....how do you activate them ?? Do i keep them on my person, or in my cargo hold, or my captains locker ?? 14:33...I have the lock picking / security only unlocked up to Rank #2.....beyond that , it is a Waste of a Skill point. I don't get anything but junk in Safes and behind lockers. And any Master and higher locks , take all my well earned purchased digipicks. 17:27...YES...I agree...I too wish we can lock items up in our inventory , to prevent from accidentally selling
You can go to The Den in the Wolf System without getting scanned for contraband. There's also a Trade Authority vendor there. I stop there after picking up any contraband before going to UC or FSC territory.
Tbh I started fast traveling to major cities and landing.just avoid security in the hubs. Haven't had any issues with it. Just don't travel to the planet. Fast travel to the location on the surface e
You can also sell all the items you acquired by a _"five finger discount"_ at the TA and then buy them back at the same price, effectively washing those items.
Also, you can also land somewhere else on the planet before the scan, drop your contraband on the ground, lift off and pass the scan, and go back and get it. Then you can travel (fast or slow) back to the city and sell in trade authority. You just need to be a bit quick to make sure you open the map menu before that scan.
An easy thing about digipicks and lockpicking that I do is to simply quick save before you open a lock and if you screw it up, just quick load and you haven't lost any digipicks 😁👍
Lol, I'm running around with almost 200 digipicks... I don't mind losing one on a mistake. Lol. They are everywhere... Well... everywhere *I'VE* been exploring anyway. Lol

Security was the first skill point I took at the start of the game. For leveling up Piloting, I did most of the challenges in the simulator. It is not cheating, pilots in real life use simulators to get better, too.
I can 100% confirm this is not cheating. We spend more time in simulators than in the air some months. It's just a great way to learn and try new stuff with little danger. Ours looks quite similar on the outside to the in game one too!
to skip getting scanned altogether - hit your map the second you load in, select your location & “land” somewhere *near* your intended destination. let’s you travel with literally anything in your bags lol
Scientific nerd’s correction: Time doesn’t pass differently, day/night cycle does. Time is static between planets but each day night cycle is dependent on the planet based on variables such as spin speed, orbit path, gravity/density, etc.
8:00 & 10:20 - Bessel III-B is better for an XP & Credits Farm. You can get AL and FE for your Adaptive Frames then get your CO and NI to spam build Isocentered Magnets that give you more XP than the frames. 1 Hour there is longer than Venus and has like 60 universal hours pass. I go there in between missions, spam five levels or so, jump to Wolf, and then sell everything at The Den. For five levels of crafting, I get close to 100K in credits for selling, waiting for 48 hours (for Trade Authority creds to reset), and selling again until I'm out of magnets.
21:53 something early game that helps with contraband is to choose the "Dream Home" perk at the start. I was able to travel to my house and drop off any and everything with no issue being scanned
If you land in a coastline biome you often can't see the coast from the landing site. Rather than wander aimlessly hoping to find it, use the local map. It is an almost featureless, but it does have some topography and a character compass. The coastline should be in the appropriate direction according to your landing site on the planet map. Set a map marker and head directly to the coast rather than searching for kilometers in random directions.
You can use the vanguard flight simulator to level up your shield, ballistic, laser and missile skills in tech as well as piloting and targeting. Also if you land on bessel 3B in a border biome between mountains, hills and rocky desert you can potentially set up a outpost to mine iron, aluminium, cobalt and nickel and create adaptive frames and isocentred magnets and level super fast it also has a massive time difference to UT like Venus.
You can register ship a through the Ship screen in the menu(bottom left). Costs 20% less than Ship Services. Also you can switch which Home Ship you want in same screen. Then if you just got new ship via boarding, you can dock with you old ship before it leaves if you want to keep it as your home ship.
Here’s one for outpost junkies. The skill that allows for additional cargo links in the first tier Doubles the number of links. From 3 to 6. This was a game changer.
You can rename your weapons on the weapon workbench, so important weaps you want to keep eg the Cutter, prefix them with a hashtag or a splat (*) or some other symbol that way you will see it and not sell it so easily. You may also need to shorten really long named weapons as once you change some of it, it then won't let it still be long.
Anyone else notice a contraband chest in neon security building that's unlocked and can be easily accessed and re set when u wait 48 hous universal time outside of neon
You should also stock up on light items with varients like succulents and notebooks. Each color of notebook is a unique item. if you want to level your commerce a couple of dozen notebooks should get you there. And shop on very hard - same loot rule apply to vendors with randomized rare weapons etc.
Every time you mod your ship, the misc items in the habs are put into your cargo. For a fairly large ship, this can amount to over a hundred unique items that count toward the commerce challenge.
If no one has mentioned it, the cutable doors/walls, you do not have to use the cutter, you can just shoot the pins to open the door/wall. It took 2 shots with my shotgun to do it.
What if you dont have a cutter with you? I stopped carrying one once I got the starborn power that lets you gather everything around you. Also a grenade will open those doors.@@DreddPirateRoberts
For extra persuasion there is more to find. Some clothes have 5% extra for persuasion. There is a storyline that'll give an item with 10% extra. Chandra wines have 12% for it, but doesnt stack with Hippolyta or Paramour. Paramour gives increase of 25% chance. Fully stacked it's possible to have 85% chance for succesful persuasion.
17:40 YES! Would also be nice if you could lock stuff from being sold so you could mass sell stuff without risking selling something you didn’t intend to and not noticing.
When you are using your scanner, you can press the aim button and it pulls out your cutter without you having to have it as a favorite (You need to have one in your inventory though) Also, if you hold aim while using the cutter, you mine a lot faster but it also uses more energy, it’s still very worth it though. To stop using the cutter just stop using the scanner and it automatically puts it away 👍
Another youtuber did the math; using the cutter in the charged state, while uses more energy per second, mines so much faster that it uses less energy per kg of material mined.
You can smuggle all the canterbands by placing them in any other vehicle you seize, then returning to your vehicle and going to any vehicle station, then choosing that stolen vehicle in which you placed the canterbands and entering it, and you will find all the things as you left them inside.
10:38 ...I love the *SHIPBREAKER's CUTTER* Nicely painted up ...made of Titanium , making it Half the Weight of the Original Cutter...and it is more Powerful . Fire Rate is higher / Accuracy is higher / Mass is 0.2% Value at 136 credits Hellers Cutter is 3% heavier
One thing I haven't seen mentioned in any of these tips videos is that you can only assign crew to an outpost if there is a crew station. You can build an outpost but the game doesn't tell you a crew station is required to assign someone. You get Lin and Heller early on so you'll want to assign them.
And you can only put down a crew station if you've built an airlock, which implies that you've built that airlock as an entrance to a hab -- i.e. a crew station is an indoor thing.
For those of us who are prone to "accidentally" on purpose carrying stolen items and get caught. You can go to the local security/ jail and there should be a stolen items locker to steal them back.
The carry capacity thing is only useful for people who have that special ability. For those of us that haven't finished the game yet if you are out/about on a planet and bring up the menu then select 'ship' and then go to the cargo list, you can switch to yourself and transfer stuff to your ship without being AT your ship a lot of times. Not sure what the range and limitations are but I've had it work when I'm in and out of buildings.
Don't forget to use cover and peek over (when crouched) and around objects. The game doesn't really tell you you can do this, but like in Fallout 4, it's automatic. You'll see your character hold his/her weapon in a ready position, this will indicate that you can peek and fire. Also.... Volii. Vol-EYE, not Vol-2. Also, best place for selling stolen or contraband goods that isn't the Trade Authority or Crimson Fleet is the Red Mile on Porrima III. Also, Paramour - another drug that adds 30% to persuasion, as opposed to Hyppolyta's 20%.
If you want to do the crimson fleet quest line legally, you can. You have to head to the UC Vanguard at MAST and do the first quest that sends you to Tau Ceti and when you come back they ask you to head to sysdef to help them out. Not much difference in the two except flavor on how you get there.
My helpful hints, use the bed in your ship to recover the small bits of health you might want/need. There are more shops in Akila that I haven’t found anywhere else. Bookstore, rock store, and the museum where you can sell those random objects that you can’t store anywhere else
if you want to keep any stolen or contraband items early game to sell them, you can put them in the captains locker on the ship, you will get caught when scanned and fined a small amount but the items will remain in the locker
@@ngrey5092 there are many ways to skin a cat dude, I was just pointing out one way, if a was going to write the best way I'd say don't bother doing any of it and go straight to the den and sell it, done, no need to land on a planet, also I've never been scanned going to kryx so you also have the option to go straight to the key if you've unlocked the vendors there and sell expensive ones to the vendor that has 30k there.
For helping you to NOT sell your Cutter. There's a special cutter in the game you can go get. However, you can also take your cutter to the Weapon Mod Bench and RENAME it to something else. "My Cutter" perhaps? It helped me to not sell my cutter until I got the Upgraded Cutter.
One of the best things I learned was to give your companion a good gun plus one piece of ammo AND one grenade. They will never run out of either ammo or grenades and it helps a lot! Also, once you get married to your favorite companion, they'll sleep with you when you're nearby (on a ship or at the Lodge). That will give you an extra bonus.
Super Light Cutter! The Shipbreaker's cutter is the best I have found so far it's a rare with titanium build so it only weighs .20 in mass.🎉🎉 just in case no one has found a better cutter as for location I can't really remember I got it early in game
I’ve realized this game is heavily about discovery, not just discovering places but there’s no babysitter so you actually have to learn how to do nearly everything.
Me to the first go around. Now after restarting after the bug where I couldn't board other ships, it took the game to drop the mission to speak to the commander on the vanguard.
I have a character who’s level 125 and another over level 140, and a couple things have been increasingly handy to take advantage of. Shielded cargo isn’t as cost effective as you might think, both in terms of money and weight. As soon as I get contraband, I either jet over to The Den to sell it at the Trade Authority or I leave it at one of my outposts until I have a few piled up. The TA does have limited money of course, so you can spend money on ammo, aid, etc. and then sell the contraband to get it back. A nice benefit of not having to worry about being scanned with it is that non-shielded cargo containers are much cheaper and weigh less than shielded ones. Also, this eliminates the need for buying a Scan Jammer. Also, I like to cruise around the Serpentis system and clear out Va Ruun ships, collecting several to sell in the process. Proceed to the Deimos Staryard next to Mars to sell them, because they appear to have the most cash on hand to buy them (160k compared to 72k elsewhere). Don’t register the ships you want to sell, though!! Think of the ships in your collection as on a number line. You can sell ANY ship adjacent to a registered ship for full price if you do one simple thing. If ship 6 is registered but 7 isn’t, go to ship 6 and simultaneously press R1 (on the Xbox, dunno the key on PC to switch to the next ship) and “A” to sell. Similarly, if 5 is registered and 4 isn’t, you can sell 4 for full price by going to ship 5 and pressing L1 and A simultaneously. As a bonus, once you’ve killed a bunch of pirates in space, there’s a security guard walking around Deimos who will compliment you on your good work and drop 4500 credits into your account, saying you’ve earned it! You’ll find him in the room on the left when you first get to Deimos, or just wait for him to come out on his little patrol. 👍👍👍 One more tidbit - Besides replenishing the ship vendor credits, sleeping on Venus for 24 hours will also re-spawn the snow globes you’ve already collected, so you can get duplicates if you want.
If your looking for yhe ultimate xp and credit farm you do the method as describ3d but on besel 3b it has the potential for aluminum, iron, nickel and cobalt buy yhe most important thing is that it has an insane time conversion 1hr slept equals 58 hrs universal time and that is what the rate of production is tied to is ut time.
Eat a shepherds pie from Kay's place in the Well and you will get an extra +2% extra XP for 60mins (better yet, go upstairs to Kay's home, find the recipe and then make it yourself) Now when you are making stuff at your base and xp farming you get a bonus. Not sure if it stacks with other food items that also give you an xp bonus over a certain time though.
Exceptional tips video!.... Unfortunately, I already found them all on my own while playing and I'm nowhere near completing the game, in the way I plan on completing it. 257 hours in (roughly 12 hours a day, everyday since the September 1st early release). I use most of them all the time, except for the quick experience one, as I just use "Grandfather's Meat Loaf", which boosts experience by 10% for 2 hours. The Kids Stuff trait grants that recipe, as well as a ship and a few other items too. Anyway, by the time I get 15% of the overall game completed, playing and doing things my way, I will already have all my perks maxed out, even if I never use any experience boosters. I am an obsessive/compulsive perfectionist maniac explorer. 😂 I will be playing thousands and thousands and thousands of hours of Starfield and will still be playing the game 10 years from now. This game will become my first 10'000 plus hours game ever, with Crimson Dessert being the other game. These 2 games are all I need for the rest of my life. Back to Starfield! and my endless journeys. 😎 Take care!
10:10 Bessel-IIIb has the second longest day (just below Venus) AND has both resources needed to make Adaptive Frames, making it the best place to XP farm via crafting
Also, the cutter is a laser weapon and if you hold your ADS button, whatever that is, it's pretty OP. It uses energy faster, but does lots of damage and just recharges, so infinite ammo, effectively.
Increasing the difficulty also decreases the XP a bit or increases if you go easy or very easy. I prefer hard with increased loot value and decreased xp because I feel like at my dreadfully slow pace I gain levels too fast to get in as many quests as I want. I know this sounds counterintuitive but in game like this powerleveling isn’t always the best option imo.
you wont have to worry about gaining levels too quick in this game, the xp curve flattens out worse than most games ive seen. normally id not power level and be overlevled from questing in rpgs but not this one
One tip, that I have never seen on RUclips or Reddit: if you steal a ship and kill the crew, the dead bodies can basically be used as storage chests. Obviously only needed if you have a low cargo ship. But it really helped me when I stole a pirate phantom ship early game.
^ this. also any random storage boxes out in the world (ex: on top of a hill) will clear themselves out after a few days.. only permanent ones I’ve found so far are at the lodge & your ship. lost a few contraband items to this 🙃
I have only seen one player in a playthrough do this, but when you're first starting out and mining, the stone bridge that is crossed to get to the anomaly. If the player jumps down from the bridge there's a rare resource that can be mined, getting back up is simple, just jump up the cave wall and continue to the anomaly. Just seems that in my own opinion, every player playthrough are in a hurry to compete as many quest lines as possible. There is just so much to see, do and explore, why be in a hurry?
You don't need to favorite the "Cutter." While in scan mode, the cutter is your default weapon. Vasco doesn't care if you do anything that human companions will not like (stealing, pick pocketing or murdering numerous innocent people). Using the space combat simulator will make progress to your "need to destroy 15 (etc) ships" progress.
@@LuckyGhost Totally get that. We NEED a lock feature to not sell items. I heard that you can re-name weapons. Players were renaming them with a hyphen to symbolize an item to not to delete.
@@steveminla we also need a junk button to sell all the crap we don't want in 1 button press. I guess it wouldn't work in this game though bc every vendor is the brokest person on that planet. Upgrading commerce just makes you have to wait more or go to 100 different shops. No clue why they gave these vendors so few credits.
To boost your Stealth, you can use the nova last disruptor on any NPC while crouching, if you stay crouching, you can keep hitting them for points and you can also pick pocket them getting all your pick pocket without any worries
Digipicks are WAYYYYYY more common than the number of things to unlock. They’re just not easy to spot for some people. I unlock everything I come across and constantly have ~60 extra digipicks and I’ve never bought them. Just pick them up when I see them. If you’re running out you’re just not paying enough attention.
If it were Vol 2, it would be II, always capitalized, but in the Surface map, its called Volii. So I'm pretty sure it's called "VOL-ee", maybe "Vol-EE-ee"
The safe in the lodge (main quest) has unlimited space. Also the ammo box next to the weapon station there and the storage box in the next room! Horde to your heart's content!!
With respect to leaving your companion outside so they don’t see you do something they don’t approve of, it doesn’t always work. If you go onto a ship, they will come along whether you want them to or not. I went onto a civilian ship and found a battle going on on the next floor up. There was screaming and yelling and dead bodies starting dropping through the ladder opening. I seems that the internal defense lasers went rogue and started taking out the crew. When the last crew member died, Sarah started yelling at me about how unacceptable my behavior was!???? So, I reloaded and asked her to stay outside. No such luck. The only way to farm any of the dead bodies was to make sure I left before the last person died.
I always rename weapons I want to keep to start with a 0. So my cutter is called "0 cutter". Then I know I can sell everything under the items that start with 0.
Clicking the first face preset option at Enhance shows your original face you had before going in so you don't have to redo your face if you don't want to. Also most Enchances you have to enter so there will be an autosave you can easily get back to and not even lose your 500 credits.
if u want easy increase piloting lvl - just go to UC tower and do as many as u want testing combat in simulator = free few lvls, +4 piloting skills. AND I think most important secret feature is that to get acses for some of the best ship parts, like jump driver +45 or +34 power generator, u need not only piloting and ship builders skills, but need also high lvl (45lvl) !!! BUT u can go some short cut and at lvl near 27 just go to hoptech and buy good C class ship with already instaled this jump driver +45 or +34 power generator and lots of cargo space only for 200 000 - 280 000 credits. SO u get almost top ship parts already at 27 lvl instead get acses to it at 45lvl!
On first playthrough, don't feel the need to finish all of the side quests. The new-game + is a really nice implementation. So I recommend to play through the main quest once, and continue after you see the credits.
just me or anyone else get into their 2nd or 3rd playthrough before suddenly realizing if you walk up close enough to a wall with your weapon drawn you will do a small 'peak' when you hold the aim button? not sure if it was mentioned early on in the game.... If so I must have missed it. get shot so much less now lol
Also, when it comes to the ship builder, higher tier parts aren’t just locked by Starship Design or Pilot skill levels, but also by your actual level. For example, even if you have Pilot 4 and Starship Design 4, but aren’t level 30 or 50/60 yet, then you’ll have parts level locked until you get to those thresholds. Great tips overall!
@@JP-st9hn I’m not gonna lie, I’m guilty of using the bug, including the bug that allows you to clip what you normally can’t place haha. I believe you’re actually level locked all the way up to Lvl 60, which is when you finally unlock all the ship parts. And then, if you don’t have Starship Design or the Piloting skills ranked up, then the parts will at least show, but be unelectable. But before 60, you can’t even see a lot of the parts.
This is REALLY annoying. If they just level locked it that would be fine, but not even knowing stuff exists is a pain if you’re trying to replicate a ship from sci-fi, etc. I’ve been working on one for a while that I haven’t seen done yet (though I haven’t intentionally looked either) but don’t want to post anything about it until I know it’s as good as I can make it.
To add to the tip on stars on the map at 4:45 looking different depending on if you've been there or not, they also look different once you scan everything in a system. Once you've gotten 100% of a system scanned the star on the map gets tiny like the background stars.
I discovered the other day: If you are within a certain distance of your ship on a plant (I'm not sure of that exact number) even if you're in a building/mine/etc, you can open your menu, go into the ship, hit F (on PC) for the Cargo Hold, then Q for your Inventory - now you can magically transfer all of your items back to the ship. Very useful if you're over-encumbered, took 100+ hours to realize it...
You can dump items into your cargo hold while outside your ship, go to the ship menu, open the cargo hold then switch to your own inventory and then just send the items/resources in there. Helps when mining or hunting early on and you keep getting encumbered and Vasco or Barret's inventory is full. BTW where is Barret's cybernetic arm minigun? Also its either him or Vasco for romping around the game, Barret is too funny to not have tagging along. Heller or Moara are also nice for a little bit. Thanks for the tips you dabbing ghost!
You also can’t use a flashlight if you are running without a helmet. Which would really only be for a stealth build which doesn’t use the flashlight much anyways
As for sleeping to heal and get the well rested buff, you can do that in most any location, including "abandoned" bases while fighting, get out of sight and you can usually sleep, get back up and back to fighting, saves a lot if healing... sometimes it says there are enemies, bit i have also slept while they were right around the corner.
For a long time I didn't realise you can have more than character 'on the go' and their saves/quicksaves are independent. I now have a pirate, a bounty hunter and a trader to choose from, depending on how I feel like playing.
Best place to find digipicks? A shop. Just buy all the ones they have every time you go to a shop. They usually only have 3 but they're cheap so you might as well buy them. I unlock every locked thing I come across and I have over 100 on me. I never get close to running out. Not to mention, a lot of the rooms you open end up having 1 or more digipicks in the room so you get it right back. Most outposts have just as many, if not more, digipicks than what you use to open every lock in that outposts.
You can speed up the process of mining with a cutter by simply holding the aim button for a couple of seconds and then firing it. Goes from taking like 5-6 seconds per “geode” to like 1-2 seconds.
Pro Tip For Beginners: I'm sure by now everyone knows of you accidentally sell your item you can buy it back provided you dont exit the vendor ui. Best way to clear stolen items.
I have remapped elite controller with a paddle as a shift key so I rarely have to take my fingers of the analogue sticks. Use xyba when shifted to be the d pad. Also assigning a paddle to be run or boost is a big help.
You don't need to favorite your cutter. If you put up your scanner by pressing F, then pressing R or the Mouse left click will ALWAYS bring out the cutter. This is another way of keeping an empty place for some other things in your favourite list…
There are medical facilities in all major settlements. There is a branch of Reliant Medical in New Atlantis right near the Lodge, and theres a med bay in The Well. On Akila, go to the Rock, and just inside on the left is a med bay with a doctor. Also there is a branch of Enhance in every major settlement - Its in the commercial district in New Atlantis and theres one in the downtown area of Akila City, but its not so easy to spot and you actually have to look at the signs over the doors to see it. Also, another tip - certain companions are designed for certain faction questlines - Sam should be your companion for the entire Rangers questline as he has extra lines for the various people you meet and knows some of them, and can skip persuasion checks. Likewise, Sarah is ex-UC Vanguard, so has extra lines for that questline.
I still haven't played the game passed my 50 hour mark which was 5 days after I got it on early release. All I do is watch these videos now. I stopped midway to the Secret Outpost to get the Mantis suit and gun or whatever. I keep loading the game and just alt-tabbing into youtube to watch videos about the game and I don't learn anything new from these video because after 50 hours you kind of learned all these tips and features already. Like the Alt jump.. (I use the mouse with my left hand so I jump with Alt and I figured that one out the first few mins of the game. Been over two weeks now and I still haven't played more than an hour since I hit the 50 hour mark. I loved Cyberpunk so much and it took me 6 months to get to the 50 hour mark because I wanted it to actually never end but after a year exactly and 120 something hours in.. I stopped playing it. Considering it would of took me by the 10th day to get to 120 hours, I feel like I would of stopped playing right there and started a new game and there is many on my list right now that I want to complete but what I think is happening is that I didn't wanna be done with the game in 10 days so I'm delaying with these videos. Its 5:00am exactly and I have to be up in 5 hours but I think I'm gonna finish the Mantis mission at least before going to bed. Damn I hate how much I love this game. Reminds me of Freelancer so much and that's the only game I ever beat twice. Guess its time for me to get my Mantis suit on instead of watching everyone else have fun. Wish me luck guys!
It didn't let me fly to the Mantis mission.. lol but I did add 2 hours of game play since this morning and thank you kind sir may your travels bring you nothing but endless luck. @@dl3g3nd45
If you’re trying to level up commerce, steal a ship and then sell it. Suddenly you’ll have all of its junk in your inventory - notebooks, succulents, etc. Much quicker than trying to pick them up individually!

@@KillastonedIf you have contraband it doesn't let you fast travel directly to the surface. You can't fast travel at all if you have Aurora
Came here to say this. As a bonus the trader always has 11K and it's easy and convenient to get to early game as well.
When you are trying to stealth, like for Ryujin Industries, take off your spacesuit. It's weight effects the sound you make.
they give you a stealth outfit, just wear that.. lol
@@danielbrownielyou can wear both.... Wearing the stealth suit while not wearing the space suit is what they're likely talking about
An easy thing about digipicks and lockpicking that I do is to simply quick save before you open a lock and if you screw it up, just quick load and you haven't lost any digipicks 😁👍
Lol, I'm running around with almost 200 digipicks... I don't mind losing one on a mistake. Lol. They are everywhere... Well... everywhere *I'VE* been exploring anyway. Lol

what i do, is, find parts that can only be used on one row and align all of those first, then i figure the rest out without issue
Security was the first skill point I took at the start of the game. For leveling up Piloting, I did most of the challenges in the simulator. It is not cheating, pilots in real life use simulators to get better, too.
fair point!
I can 100% confirm this is not cheating. We spend more time in simulators than in the air some months. It's just a great way to learn and try new stuff with little danger. Ours looks quite similar on the outside to the in game one too!
Makes perfect sense. Saves a ton of money on fuel, maintenance, etc.
to skip getting scanned altogether - hit your map the second you load in, select your location & “land” somewhere *near* your intended destination. let’s you travel with literally anything in your bags lol
Scientific nerd’s correction:
Time doesn’t pass differently, day/night cycle does.
Yep 58 hours UTC for each 1 on Bessel.
Ive been trying to get that Bessel 3B landed where I thought the 3 met...having a heck of a time finding that sweet spot.
@wesleyunknown1590 I saved before and reloaded till I got it, took a while but I did eventually get the sweet spot
Mercury is the best 6hours is 496hrs UT
@@matthewwebster3143 does it also have all the materials in one spot?
Awsome! This works great with the game mod that helps sort things. now I can sort by name and all the # are at the top! Thanks!
Good tip. Didn’t even notice that.
Great Tip!
Those egg desk decorations are worth 20 each and weigh like .3 🫣
😂
Every time you mod your ship, the misc items in the habs are put into your cargo. For a fairly large ship, this can amount to over a hundred unique items that count toward the commerce challenge.
If no one has mentioned it, the cutable doors/walls, you do not have to use the cutter, you can just shoot the pins to open the door/wall. It took 2 shots with my shotgun to do it.
Sure, but why waste the ammo?
What if you dont have a cutter with you?
I stopped carrying one once I got the starborn power that lets you gather everything around you.
Also a grenade will open those doors.@@DreddPirateRoberts
Use solar flare power, pops all the pins at once when fired dead center, also looks cool as hell.
10:38 ...I love the *SHIPBREAKER's CUTTER* Nicely painted up
...made of Titanium , making it Half the Weight of the Original Cutter...and it is more Powerful .
Fire Rate is higher / Accuracy is higher / Mass is 0.2% Value at 136 credits
Hellers Cutter is 3% heavier
One thing I haven't seen mentioned in any of these tips videos is that you can only assign crew to an outpost if there is a crew station. You can build an outpost but the game doesn't tell you a crew station is required to assign someone. You get Lin and Heller early on so you'll want to assign them.
And you can only put down a crew station if you've built an airlock, which implies that you've built that airlock as an entrance to a hab -- i.e. a crew station is an indoor thing.
For those of us who are prone to "accidentally" on purpose carrying stolen items and get caught. You can go to the local security/ jail and there should be a stolen items locker to steal them back.
that's why i always chose to go to jail, the chest usually is right outside the cellblock
This is a great tip, thanks!!!
Range appears to be ~200 ft/meters/whatever measurement it uses?
Not much difference in the two except flavor on how you get there.
good tip!
Just make an outpost on a deserted planet and place illegal things there.
WHAT is this 'Personal Atmosphere' thing - OHMYGOODNESS COUNTLESS HOURS WASTED without knowing about this - thanks!!
Infiltrating the crimson fleet, I accidentally stole a coffee cup of the security desk at Jameson. Got arrested and started down that rabbit hole.
Me to the first go around. Now after restarting after the bug where I couldn't board other ships, it took the game to drop the mission to speak to the commander on the vanguard.
In the menu, without going into the galaxy map, you have a button for fast travel. Takes you directly to the correct planet for the marked quest.
good one gonna try
One more tidbit - Besides replenishing the ship vendor credits, sleeping on Venus for 24 hours will also re-spawn the snow globes you’ve already collected, so you can get duplicates if you want.
😎 Take care!
glad you enjoyed it, and hope you continue to enjoy Starfield, its an amazing game!
WOW!!! I admire your dedication,HAPPY GAMING!!!
10:10 Bessel-IIIb has the second longest day (just below Venus) AND has both resources needed to make Adaptive Frames, making it the best place to XP farm via crafting
You can quicksave before trying to open any safe and then if you don't crack it the first try, just quickload. Never run low on digipicks again.
The bodies despawn after awhile... I personally wouldn't rely on this for extra unlisted cargo space.
^ this. also any random storage boxes out in the world (ex: on top of a hill) will clear themselves out after a few days.. only permanent ones I’ve found so far are at the lodge & your ship. lost a few contraband items to this 🙃
You can get the Crimson Fleet quest starter from Tuala in New Atlantis if you dont want to get caught with contraband
Actually the quest starts with any crime... you Just need be caught. Usually I go to a store mad steal something cheap
Both are actually right
I have only seen one player in a playthrough do this, but when you're first starting out and mining, the stone bridge that is crossed to get to the anomaly.
I just favorited it so I wouldn't accidentally sell it so often lol
@@LuckyGhost Totally get that. We NEED a lock feature to not sell items.
I heard that you can re-name weapons. Players were renaming them with a hyphen to symbolize an item to not to delete.
@@LuckyGhost Use the Rename feature mentioned above. That works great for me.
@@steveminla we also need a junk button to sell all the crap we don't want in 1 button press. I guess it wouldn't work in this game though bc every vendor is the brokest person on that planet. Upgrading commerce just makes you have to wait more or go to 100 different shops. No clue why they gave these vendors so few credits.
you get an upvote for the personal atmosphere so weird i didnt realize thats waht it did! ill definitely be using that
To boost your Stealth, you can use the nova last disruptor on any NPC while crouching, if you stay crouching, you can keep hitting them for points and you can also pick pocket them getting all your pick pocket without any worries
I buy digipicks when I restock med packs at the store in the space port. She often has some in stock.
If it were Vol 2, it would be II, always capitalized, but in the Surface map, its called Volii. So I'm pretty sure it's called "VOL-ee", maybe "Vol-EE-ee"
NPCs pronounce it vole-eye. You are almost correct.
The electronics shop just outside the trade authority in the well usually has between 5 and 7 digipicks for cheap.
Another tip regarding contraband not all of it is in the misc tab it can be in the aid tab too
I always rename weapons I want to keep to start with a 0. So my cutter is called "0 cutter". Then I know I can sell everything under the items that start with 0.
Be careful with Sarah. You might tell her to wait outside but she likes to eavesdrop.
🤣
You can wash stolen weapons with a weapon rack in your base 👌
I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone mention you can add powers to your favorites
i mean, it worked with shouts, i just figured everyone's doing it
Clicking the first face preset option at Enhance shows your original face you had before going in so you don't have to redo your face if you don't want to. Also most Enchances you have to enter so there will be an autosave you can easily get back to and not even lose your 500 credits.
That ammo tip is Top Tier! worth the whole video!
OMG! Hold the menu button down to exit the menu system totally - THANKYOU!
if u want easy increase piloting lvl - just go to UC tower and do as many as u want testing combat in simulator = free few lvls, +4 piloting skills.
Hold Tab to exit thing... 87 hours in and I wish I'd known!
Great tips overall!
great point! thanks for sharing!
There a bug that allows to use any part rank notwithstanding… as long as you have the credits.
@@JP-st9hnhow does that work?
Lin tells you how to turn on the flashlight right in the tutorial.
Lmao ok I actually laughed out loud when you said Emma, while accidentally tagging along for the playthrough was helping you shank enemies 😂😂
You can also sleep until night time if you don’t want to go all the way to the other side of the planet.
If you select a space suit in your inventory there is an option to automatically hide it while in safe areas.
The trick to back out of menus, the star glow indication, and the extra oxygen, were all extremely valuable things I'm going to try out right now!
No need to waste a quick slot for the cutter. The cutter auto equips if you press attack with your scanner open.
Also, pertaining to the scanner, you can overcharge by holding alt attack with attack. Makes mining twice as fast
The game actually does tell you about the flashlight, its one of the first things you learn to do when in the cave with the first artifact. 😂
Also tell your followers to rename the cutter, I use - 0 - Cutter and it keeps it on top of the weapons list
You also can’t use a flashlight if you are running without a helmet. Which would really only be for a stealth build which doesn’t use the flashlight much anyways
Why would you ever not wear a helmet? You can have it not show in places you don't need it
As for sleeping to heal and get the well rested buff, you can do that in most any location, including "abandoned" bases while fighting, get out of sight and you can usually sleep, get back up and back to fighting, saves a lot if healing... sometimes it says there are enemies, bit i have also slept while they were right around the corner.
With selling off the red items, you can then "rebuy" them for the same price and the red marker is removed making them free from confiscation.
Ohhh! That’s why I was getting legendary gear from the very beginning and my buddy wasn’t! I always play on at least hard.
For a long time I didn't realise you can have more than character 'on the go' and their saves/quicksaves are independent. I now have a pirate, a bounty hunter and a trader to choose from, depending on how I feel like playing.
I had no idea about slotting abilities. Never saw an option to do this anywhere and no tutorial told me about it
I just found out about it (lvl 25) because I decided to do the main quest line (Artifacts). Won't be long before you're there. Trust
Pro Tip For Beginners:
I'm sure by now everyone knows of you accidentally sell your item you can buy it back provided you dont exit the vendor ui. Best way to clear stolen items.
Haha!, i thought i was the only one who accidentally throws grenades at the wrong moment .
If you have an elite Xbox controller, you can bind the jump to one of the flapper buttons and it will work.
I have remapped elite controller with a paddle as a shift key so I rarely have to take my fingers of the analogue sticks. Use xyba when shifted to be the d pad.
Also assigning a paddle to be run or boost is a big help.
im 390 hours played so far and its still as fun as the 1st time i played it 🔥
You don't need to favorite your cutter.

I had the smuggler girl with me for the rangers quest and she had special lines wen I got to the red mile
Goodluck on your travels through the cosmos.
Who doesn't know that if you want to be in dark to land in the dark?
I’ve seen many tip videos and this is my fav- thorough and well paced 👍 wish it had text for each point but otherwise great job
that's great to hear, thank you!
you can hire crew for your ship & outposts at bars, like the lounge in neon.
the tab thing to get out of the map menus, Brilliant tip, thank you thank you thank you.
I've heard of people saying that they have found purple cutters as drops, though it's very rare to get a cutter as a drop
