Go to the simulation, sit in the cockpit to start the simulation, stand back up and go towards the exit, behind you there is a console on the wall with an option to hack the terminal. Solve, exit simulation, re enter, repeat.... for anyone interested

DO NOT place weapons on weapon racks or display armor/helmets on display racks! If you have items a on display and change your home ship or edit your ship; all of the items will be deleted.
For example - i had a TON of legendary and epic weapons after about 5 hours of playing. The Mantis ship comes with tons of weapons and armor in its armoury and I removed the default weapons and armor on display and replaced it with my own. I edited the mantis in ship builder AND changed homenships.

Also you can get cool weapons from vendors by using another object you pick up, like a trashcan. If you’re starting a new play through, another good way to level piloting is actually taking the Wanted trait. Level 12 Ecliptic ships will show up to hunt you pretty often when you jump into a system and you can kill those and make a bit of money while you’re at it. You can also pay them like 500 credits to make them go away.
Also, when leveling stealth, use an automatic weapon with a suppressor. You can land several sneak attacks in quick succession and absolutely erase those challenges.

Those ships provide good XP or if on planet (after you kill the bounty hunters) OR if you board them- though sometimes they appear when you jump to a patrolled planet so you have 'help' when you kill them! Anyway they quite frequently carry contraband on them... you can't steal their ships though, it says unauthorized when you sit in the captains chair no matter what skills you have or even if sure you'd killed everybody.

Keep in mind that if you do this and then go into Ship Editor and make any changes at all to your ship, things loose on the floor will disappear forever. Early on I think ppl should check the basement of the constellation group faction and there are a couple of storage containers down there I think it's smart to leave a lot of ur resources and wanna keep for possible future research projects down there in those.
    Or on Mars!
the red devils have a base that is very similar once going through some of the missions which to start go through the vanguard missions.
    Or u.c.
Then they have some storage containers in there too and u can leave ur resources and things there too for future research projects there too .
Also u can sell everything in that room to a guy in there plus take all items off ur ship regularly cuz they reload .
U can take them over and over and sell them to the guy in the red devil base.
Plus all items in constellation base u can take and they aren't stolen so u can sell them too !
These things can help a person early on just get some extra funds for like ammo and weapons and things u'll need to get through missions at 1st.
And I'm just suggesting these things to do before u start an outpost and have storage containers of ur own there.
Cuz once u do that u can just keep all ur stuff at ur own outposts in ur own storages containers .
Thought this could be helpful for ppl that have never played and are starting the game from scratch.

Good video. The biggest mistake I made on my first playthrough was a mistake common to RPG - and that’s thinking of upgrade points in a ‘average is better’ manner. For instance, in Fallout 4, putting a lot of points in LUCK will give you a way easier time than not doing this. In Starfield, I eventually got to the low 60’s in terms of levels, but I had ‘wasted’ any number of upgrade points by trying to do everything. The base building mechanic in Fallout was clunky; in Starfield, it is better but still clunky. And a lot of the material you might mine at this or that outpost you set up, you can buy at various stores. So, if you know yourself, and your joy and zen comes from combat, then geez, then go with a combat character. You must upgrade Piloting, but you do not have to upgrade Targeting Weapon Systems (for instance). You do have to have a point in Boostpack to use a boostpack, but you don’t need more than one point.
The main problem is that Starfield does not allow you to re-spec your points - at all, ever. So, even in NG+, you may have points in areas you never use. I put a point in Isolation - sure, you get some buffs in combat, but I enjoy having my partner around to sleep with and get that buff. So, I am into a third new start (not NG+) playthrough where I am selecting points based on my playstyle. Sure, its nice to do the unlocking doors and chests mini-game, but none of the loot in chests was worth fully upgrading this. Similarly, you can avoid a lot of combat by fully upgrading Persuasion, but this is a crap idea if you like combat. Points into outpost management or planetary habitation, as mentioned, take points away, ultimately, from something else.
Think of the game this way - there is the main mission and the many wonderful side missions. But you can have combat related skills OR outpost management related skills OR ship building related skills. You can maybe have most of two of these, but not all three of these. And your choices here also depend on your difficulty level - at the harder levels, the space combat really gets tough unless you are putting alot of points into shields and ship weapons and starship design. The one of these big three that has very little to do with overall mission success is, well, outpost engineering. Baddies get harder as the difficutly level gets harder. You might want to put lots of points into Research trees to upgrade your weapons or spacesuit or speed the pace of research - again, the game is way more forgiving at Very Easy or Easy - but as you ramp up the difficulty, you really want to be stingy with points and find a groove that is your playstyle, because you literally cannot do it all. AND since you can’t re-spec, you might find yourself deep into the game, and then discover the parts of the game you adore, and have wasted a bunch of points in areas you don’t enjoy.

Becoming a Jack-of-all-trades is usually a mistake in most RPGs because of level cap restrictions, but there’s no respec option in Starfield or Fallout 4 simply because they have no soft/hard level caps. The only real “waste” is not getting a skill that could be progressed naturally over time. I’ve heard him mention in two different videos he didn’t take the Pilot skill on his first character, so all the ships he destroyed didn’t count for when he did finally get it.
Even if a player doesn’t plan to design a ship or start building outposts early on, I’d still say it’s worth getting those skills anyway. If they change their mind to focus on those more, they’ll have at least some amount of progress done toward them, and reaching rank 2 or even 3 really isn’t that much trouble. There’s a lot of ships to destroy out in space, and even just placing an outpost beacon and a couple simple structures around it still count as “building an outpost” for the purpose of the skill progression.

Adding to that, if you are doing the Crimson Fleet mission Absolute Power in Neon City (slight spoilers)
Obviously you can do it all guns blazing but killing anything, even a robot will result in you being kicked out of Sysdef and declared an enemy. This does not mean you can't travel to UC systems but it does mean you don't get to choose between them and the Crimson Fleet.
So you must do a 100% stealth mission in the Generdyne facility. Unless you've maxed out the Stealth perk, then it's easier to just remove your suit, helmet and pack, then unequip your gun, this majorly reduces the sound you make and makes it so much easier to sneak undetected. The mission is still a PITA but doable.

Sometimes I would only get one kill before having to emergency jump to a nearby system, but I just let my shields recharge and go back and wipe out as many as possible before my shields drop to between 25% and 15%. Than, tactical retreat. Only to immediately go back.
Sometimes they wouldn’t respawn until I had at least done a mission or two. (Same with venders restocking their products and credits. I’d wait up to a (in game) week (UT hours, not local hours) (after several successful trades in a row) and they still haven’t restocked. (I even went 5 systems over and returned but no luck) so I go do one quick mission and come check and they’d have more goods and credits to trade.

One of the _biggest_ mistakes is thinking of The Lodge as your home base. _Yes,_ it has infinite storage...but you don't _need it_ in this game.
Not only is going back and forth to The Lodge cumbersome, but Bethesda has outright stated that _your ship_ is supposed to be your home. I've never needed more than 7,000 storage, and I can get that on a ship easily. I can put all of the crafting stations inside my ship. Bethesda is absolutely right: when you think of your ship as "home", it changes everything and gameplay becomes a ton easier.
Everything I need is right there in my ship, and I'm always bringing it along with me. All I really have to do is sell off any loot every few planets.

Quicksave farm elite enemies for better drops. The ones with 3-4 health bars and armor. You can literally do a run in 10 seconds.
Just save when they have a sliver of health. You get a crappy drop? reload and do it all over again til you get something you want.
I'm just now lvl11 and have Legendaries from head-to-toe. Cheers.

Here's another tip. In case you like to capture ships and sell them, and your ship vendors are all broke. They take longer than 24 or 48 hours to reset (don't know exactly how long, I think it's 14 days but don't quote me on that). Simplest trick here, go to Venus and sleep 5 or so local hours. 1 local hour on Venus is, I think, 100 UT hours. So you'll sleep for 500 UT hours (which is almost 21 days). Because Bethesda doesn't know how time works, it'll feel like you really only slept 5 hours. Anyway, after that all the ship vendors will have reset.
Also, outposts, do NOT make the mistake of putting turrets on the ground, especially not when you build near animals. Aggressive animals will shred through those turrets within moments. Also, for power, build a watchtower and put solar panels on top. You can put a few on there which should be enough for turrets. Pirates like to go for power generating structures first, and they can't get to them up there.
But honestly, unless you really enjoy basebuilding, don't put work into outposts. They don't really provide any benefits. You can put crafting stations on your ship, and you'll find them in the Lodge basement as well. There's maybe two things outposts are good for. Big landing pad to build ships as they combine the parts of different locations, and extracting the iron you need for a contract on one of the shipyards (don't remember which). Other than that, it's not really worth the hassle.

Tips for a better experience from someone with several unmodded playthroughs:
Use mods to allow achievements with mods.
Then when you start out, use console to increase inventory space to be 500 instead of ridonculous standard.
Then give yourself 400 skills points - put 1 point in every skill right off the bat. You can now increase each skill in the tree separately from your leveling experience, by actually using that skill and still level up like normal. This way you can get to try way more of the skills in an organic way, whereas in the standard game you will only be able to try a fraction of the skills given that there are something like 350 skill points to be used, and you are unlikely to ever pass level 100 anyway.

The problem with making a ship with more cargo is that they get heavy and get less maneuverable in ship combat. I really only have one gripe with this game and that is this decision they made about ship cargo. I feel like I need to keep my cargo at the number that ANY of my ships can hold so I can freely switch between them. It's VERY annoying. I assume (hope) that you can somewhat reproduce the ship cargo behavior with outposts by building lots of storage and also constructing crafting stations, but I'm just getting started there.

The only thing I’m a little bummed about Starfield is the fact that you can’t fly between systems without fast travel. I understand not being able to fly down onto planets without loading screens but I wish we could at least explore through space and find different planets manually

realistically, that would be extremely timely. Just to get to mars from earth would take 7 months so the "immersion" (yes i put them in quotations) would be drastically off.

I mean that would not make sense because realistically that would make all the galaxies be really close, that wouldn't work lol also it would take years with no grav jumps

    • @Tofi_ytchannel
      @Tofi_ytchannel Год назад

@@apexn3rd Realistically, your speed in the vacuum would not be capped at any value below c, as long as you are applying continuous thrust. Yet in this game - very unrealistically - your speed is capped at a ridiculously low value (149 m/s with basic engine), except for bursts that only temporarily increase your speed (like there was something in the space preventing you from going faster, lol).
It would take 7 months with current technology, but it would be plausible that something better is invented by the 24th century that allows for convenient and fairly quick travel within a solar system. You're not doing grav jumps in that case, so the game itself also implies you're using your engines to do that. With a rough 5G burn for 12 hours you can travel 46 million km, and with another 12 hour long 5G burn in the opposite direction, you can slow your ship down, and voila, you're at Mars in 24 hours. You just need an engine with a nearly infinite power source (fusion use of He-3 is implied in the game) and a solution that keeps the human body intact in a high-G burn for such an extended period.
I'm not saying they should've done this, only that the argument "it would've been unrealistic" is very weak. There are better reasons why they made this decision (most likely it was designed this way to make the spaceship battles more managable and fun). I have accepted the fact that Starfield is not a spaceship simulator but an RPG, most of which takes place on the ground (whichever planet's surface it may be) and the space aspect was pretty much neglected.

I was level 27 before leaving the first planet..there’s a lot you can do on each planet instead of just playing the main characters story as quick as you can, if you spend a ton of time at each planet you can have fun fighting and level up quicker,if you do 27 levels at each planet your rank up the first play through, as doing a second play through this fast just means you’ve missed so much of the game, and there is so many little tricks, you can also just toss a ton of stuff on the ground and quick save, it will alsways be there..

There are so many things that would have been nice to have equiped at all times but very little room on the one and only favorites menu, wish they would have made a secondary or a dual favorites menu, one on the left side of the screen, and one on the right side, right side one for guns and explosives, and left side one for consumables, another feature that would have been nice is basic companion commands like in Mass effect go here/there/stay/use ability/attack marked target.

I don't know if you're still monitoring this, or if you already know this, but if you get the Old Pirate Habs or whatever, they give you a "Treasure Chest" for an item storage thing, it has INFINITE capacity, and you can place it on your ship. It can't be sold from automatically, but it's easy to pull what you want to sell and either hold on to it, or chuck it in the ship's inventory.
