How to set up a Brita Pitcher

- Setting up your Brita Pitcher is easy. Follow these 4 simple steps and you'll be enjoying great-tasting water without the waste of single-use plastic water bottles in no time! And remember to change your Brita Standard Filter every 2 months, and Brita Elite filter every 6 months.
I recommend buying the blue Brita Elite filters. One blue filter lasts 3x as long as the standard white filters. The white filters comes in packs of 3. The blue comes with one. So they both last the same amount of time -- 6 months.
However, the blues filter out more contaminants than the white ones. They filter out lead, asbestos, microplastics, certain pesticides and pharmaceuticals, which the white ones don't.
They also cost almost the same, just a buck or two more. So there's really no reason not to buy the Elite filters instead. Plus there's less plastic waste. Oh yea you can recycle your Brita filters and dispensers for free through Terracycle.
Where can i get those “blue filters”? I couldn’t find it on Amazon…. You’ve only the “marella” filter. Or is it changed? I ordered the “maxtra pro” filter from Brita and it looks pretty great. It taste good either. But it is the best option, not sure about that 😅

after I changed filter, how can I turn the red light to the green light again? I have repressed the reset button and hold for 5 seconds, the light blinking but when I am pouring water, the light still shows red... thank you. I have the same water bottle as this video.

How much water do you put in to fill it? Only to the fill line in the top reservoir? That doesn't really fill the pitcher.

what do you mean by "fill and empty the pitcher three times to rinse the filter" is this after rinsing the filter for 15 seconds?

Yeah, and on my booklet they call it a reservoir, and they make no effort to tell you which chamber they're referring too. good product but no effort on instructions.
Rinse the filter for 15 seconds. Then insert the filter , fill the pitcher three times. When you fill the filter the fourth time you’re good too go. Hope that helps

So at the end of the video, the bottom "filtered" water section is filled up to where the filter is now immersed in the clean water. Is this okay? Or is the "clean" water getting contaminated by just having the filter soak in it? Clearly in order to fill the bottom chamber that high, you had to fill up the upper chamber 2 or 3 times. Is this what you're supposed to do?

It’s a stormy day outside in GA & I’m sitting here trying to figure out what to do with this wasted water from prepping the filter in the pitcher. Obviously my plants & flowers don’t need it. Also BRITA, if the number of ounces/gallons you say it will last for doesn’t include wasting the 1st three fill ups, then you should amend the number to the actual one.

The water doesn’t drain through the filter like it does in the video and like the directions describe. I’ve tried for over an hour now. I can’t get any water below the filter.

There is no filter indicator panel on underside of lid, there is no bottons anywhere on this product. It's just a lid

Even after I do all this my water tastes weird, maybe I need to flush it out more than recommended when changing the filter
I think some filters are not working properly. I had the same problem.
Noticed recently the same thing after numerous times flushing it tastes bitter and worse than the tap water.

Raise the pitcher lid, looks straight across from the opening and you’ll find the fill line.

What do I do if my Brita has no electronics
Well you would have to time the filter replacements yourself.
My filter here in France doe=s not look like this. It's a white tank for the regular kind. The "indicator" is. ablue soft plastich rectangle that is supposed to count the number of tie I open the lid. But it is completely illegible and I have no clue when to change the filter. I just did and I now CANNOT PUT THE LID BCK ON~ And I cannot see how to do it. @Brita
Is it normal to order a Brita water jug and not have instructions with it? Mine is just a jug and a filter in plastic wrap.

Yes that's kind of the whole schtick with their product, that you can use regular tap water and clean it with their filter.
I bought one of these and I have come to find out that no matter what I use the water still taste like shit.
