@@stephenblackwell5533 I'm not sure what exactly you mean and I'm sorry if I've offended you but I didn't mean what I said as an insult to Suffocation's drumming. Everyone from Mike smith to even the new guy, Eric Morotti, are outstanding drummers and they all hit REALLY DAMN HARD. I only meant that the drum parts in most Suffo songs are designed for their musicality and crushing heavyness, and because of this, they're not as technically challenging or complicated as groups like The Faceless or Benighted.
@@lucasbrucas9632 Gotcha no problem..id still say Suffocation as a band is better and their music doesn't feel forced and flows better than the bands you mentioned and if i were wanting more technicality I would choose meshuggah over those two bands. To each their own I suppose 🤘

Suffocation truly is one of the eldest and original US Death Metal bands and live they are killing. A show in Munich in about 2007 had a big impact on me. One guitar player broke his arm and they acted without him. But the sound was still so massively fat and I was able to enjoy Suffocation for the first time in my life. Their first albums got a shitty sound. And bad sound doesn't fit to their music at all. Live they sounded so much better than in studio always. Crappy sound only fits to Autopsy and Abscess cuz Chris Reifert never imagined Death Metal as polished overproduced Morrissound unity. And I respect him for his vision and decision as much as his incredible talent to perform sick and very variable vocals while playing drums very well.

great flawless solid drumming, true to the original, but AWFUL vocals...i know that's not the case because it's a drum cover video mainly, but once we hear vocals too i think i should say my opinion and it would be better if you played it in instrumental mode, just with guitars and bass....also i am getting what an other guy said on a comment about Culross' feeling and style but on the other hand the whole point of covering whatever song is not copying each drummer's moves and style but what is actually playing, every drummer has his own style and body moves and technique.
Excellent drums but please remove the vocals (sorry to the vocalist)
to me, it is a failure. Covering Dave Culross especially for this song is a huge challenge for every drummers, just watch how Dave make the drum fills living . This is absolute highclass drumming, just like tom fills he's able to play. I saw him 5 times, I even had the chance to record him with his permission and take a beer after the show, his work is amazing, not necessary for speed, but for the sensivity of his drumming approach, this guy is untouchable, you are very far from the feeling Dave is gifted with, just watch the snare rolls, this guy is unbelievable to watch. Saw him on european tour with Suffocation for the pierced from within promo in 1995 (he was 20) I've never seen death metal played this way before, even 25 years after i'm still blown away. Sorry, this is not a coverable song, this should have been if Dave was not the drummer, but this man is too far away.
