Prepare for flames: I actually like St. Anger. It's not a bad album, just a bad Metallica album... And the snare, but Slipknot and Korn have used that sound before for effect not the entire album.
@Vic Santiago I know that, I'm just saying that the sound got very old and annoying quickly. To me it's like screaming, I believe it's best used as a dynamic for a certain part of a song, like if something is starting to get messy. It also was just to high pitched for my taste. But I don't record acoustic drums so I don't know that much.
