Just ordered these for my 22 RGS and they will be coming soon. 2 questions for you. Did the handlebar turn signal controls go back on okay? People who did the 21 RGS said that you have to buy half clamps to make them fit. Also, I read that the clutch side handlebar is glued on is that correct? And if so how did you get it off?
@@bigfresh7696 trying to remember but I think I had to snip off the pin from the controls clamps since these bars don't have holes for the pins. I installed new grips too when I added these bars so the clutch side is still on the stock bars. 🙂
The 12 inch Spearheads are great. The video was very helpful for the install on a 2019 Roadglide. Throttle side was a challenge getting around the corner. You need to be aware that if you do not pull the main fuse you will get an ECM error code when you start the bike.
I wish I read you comments prior to installing, now I have a check engine light on , mine have heated grips as well . Any advice how to self clear please ? I’ve already tried pulling fuse and restating and same .

Thank you for the awesome video, installing my 14” spear heads this evening on my 15 RGS, just as soon as FedEx gets here with them. Rain shut them down yesterday or they’d already be on
Just want to give a shout out them bars are the bomb,,,, I ordered them on Monday receive them on Thursday and put them on the same day easy bars to put on they look amazing..
Great bars...installed same day received. Video is dead on. Installed 14 on 2015 roadglide special. Would like to point out. My bars didn't have kst logo engraved on top. Kst Logo badge was located on throttle side. When pulling cables be sure to lose up the rubber clamps holding cables. This was the only way my stock lines worked with no problem. Does takes some elbow grease to get the throttle side bar in but, once on bike the adjustments are easy. Great overall and quality. Hope this helps. Follow the video with these tips and your golden. Took me about 1 hr because I did all the prep work before receiving my bars. Took 4 days to receive them. Overall would guess 2-3 hrs. Hope this helps.
Re: 2016 FLTRU It's really as easy as shown here. Buy these bars. Quality product. My arms and hands are finally where they should be. I had zero issues with the install and this was my first time ever changing bars. As always, follow good maintenance protocols as outlined in the service manual.
Just installed 12inch straight jackets. 21 RGS. Took like than 2 hours. That was in a parking looking with a Walmart set of tools. And I hand filled the perch clamps with some older welding tools. Very happy so far! Thanks KST.
Have an install feedback regarding the right brake line for a 2020 Road Glide Special FLTRXS. Purchased the 14” rise Black Spearhead handlebar set. Watched this install video and made sure the brake lines were on top of the bar/clamp (15:00 in the video). However, the brake lines were still too tight to fit the speedo/tach enclosure. After a LOT of fiddling around, I noticed there is a plastic block on the right (throttle) side of the steering head that holds four hydraulic lines. Popped that out of the holder and did get more play in both left and right (clutch & brake) lines. Still not enough to be comfortable. Then popped the two hydraulic lines (clutch and front brake) out of the block, keeping the other two there and put the block back in the holder. Found a tie-wrap holding one of the lines to an electrical connector near the block and cut that. Substantially more play now with no binding at full lock left and right. One other note, at 17:50 in this video it’s recommended to torque the riser clamp bolts to 30 ft.lbs. Checking the shop manual, Harley recommends 16-20 ft.lbs. Nice quality product.
The reason you have to increase the torque on the clamp is because you eliminate the pin which keeps the stock bars from moving. Even increasing the torque to 30 ft.lbs. the Spearhead bars will still move if you pull back too hard. This happened to me on a trip last year and had to wait until I returned home to torque it down again. I am looking for an aftermarket clamp that will hold the bar more securely. Any recommendations?
I had ordered 12" Paul Yaffe monkey bars and they sent 10" instead so now I have to wait 2 more weeks for the replacement but got to looking around and found these, I'm impressed enough that I went ahead and ordered 14 Pioneers for my 19 RG ultra and I'll just sell the PY's locally. Looks way easier to install and lots more adjustment in the way of hand positions.
I installed these bars on my Road Glide today and it was a PITA. The electrical lines are long enough and not a problem. The hydraulic lines are just barely long enough with no slack at all. I had to run the hydraulic lines a different way than showed in the video because the gauges would not go back on. He does not tell you how to take off the trip meter button, which is another PITA. The factory service manual does not help at all, I had to find a different video on You Tube to get the button off. And finally, the stock left hand grip is glued on and is another PITA to get off. If I had been warned about the grip I would have bought new grips before attempting this install. A big negative with these bars for me is the fact you can't push the bars forward enough. I have long arms and with the design of this three piece bar, it stops when it hits the top of the forks limiting the amount you can push them forward. The bars look good but knowing what I know now I would have picked a one piece bar instead. Update!! The hydraulic lines are anchored to a plastic block on the right side of the frame. On a Road Glide turn your bars all the way to the right and look down inside the inner fairing on the right side. You can see the block on the frame holding the lines. The block is easy to pop out and take the brake and clutch lines out of it. Leave the other two in it and pop the block back in place. This will give you plenty of slack for 14" bars. I don't know why KST doesn't tell us about this. I had to watch a Factory 47 video to find out how to do it. Starting at 1:45 in the video below they show you how to get the slack you need. Thanks for nothing KST!! ruclips.net/video/b5nRthn_-q8/видео.html

There is another video from a different company on youtube for a 2015 RG that shows a big plug that you have to unpin to remove the throttle by wire. I guess on the 2015 the plug was different (much larger) than the 2018/19. Just a bit of info that I noticed.

If you have heated grips, can you remove the throttle grip and sleeve together and reinstall them together, or do you have to remove the grip from the sleeve? I want to avoid dealing with the heated grip connector on between the throttle sleeve and the grip. When I installed the heated grips, I noticed that connector seemed very delicate.
In the middle of the swap. Made a few minor mistakes, mainly clamping bars on too early. But I'm confused about how the clutch and brake lines run. I see overtop the riser ( I messed that up rushing). But do they run behind the cluster. Someone help me lol

Can you make a video on the 14-20 road king special for the road king riders? 😎. Seem like we would have way less work to do without the fairing and Also show how the riser works and how much we can tilt it
I bought a 2019 Road Glide Special that has a set of the KST Pioneer bars already installed. How hard would it be add a set of heated grips to this set up? Can it be done without removing everything?
Question if you have the 12 in instead of the 14 in do you still need to take the bracket out that holds the wires in the gauge cluster he said by removing you can gain 2-3 in if you have the 12 in you are technically 2 in shorter then the 14 in was just wondering?
I've ordered the 12 inch Spearheads and am considering installing them myself on my '22 Road Glide Limited. Does the fact that I have heated grips raise any unusual issues?
No sir. Check out my internal wiring video for 14-23 models. I go over the heated grips in it. You could also do the locked and loaded or fully pre wired options. Check them out on the site

Just finished installing 12” on a 2012 RGS. Got done, no power. Radio works, no power on ignition. About to take apart, any suggestions on what to look for, which connection?
I just installed the pioneer bars. Short answer, I love them. Longer answer ... What they don't show in the video is the PIA process of routing the clutch and brake line in a crazy small spot on the side of the gauge cluster. After communication with them they emailed back some additional tips to gain more cable length and suggested taking off the protective sheathing. When all was said and done, I felt it better to dremel out a C shape spot for the cables to pass through the gauge cluster. I did this right below the screws that hold the gauge cluster. Looks like it was almost from the factory but not what I had intended after buying $400 bars putting them on a 30K bike. I feel there is a small design flaw and when I did route the cables where they suggested - it was just too harsh of an angle and too tight a fit. I did not feel like comfortable that and hence the dremel. Ultimately it turned out great and the 3 piece bars made internal wiring a breeze. Or at least on the 12" bards I had ... 14" may have been more challenging. The provided mesh was a huge help. Great guys and fast communication and very nice product and love the adjust-ability but in my opinion, you have to get a little created with running the brake and clutch lines to suit your comfort.
Just purchased a 2022 cvo RG do you know if you can use the stock cables and wires without extentions with the 14" spearhead ? Love these bars. Thank you

How do you run the wires through the Renegade bars? Seems nearly impossible to get around the bend in the top. I’ve been trying to pull the wires through with fishing line, but plugs won’t make that bend.
Clearly this dude is leaving out important info regarding using stock lines with a 14" bar. I just installed (12's) on my RGS and I definitely had to cut the zip ties as well as removing the lines from the bracket holding them in place under the fairing. He makes it look easy with 14's but I assure you that even with 12's and cutting ties it's going to be a tight fit.

Can we do a video on a Road King. I bought the Renegades 14’ and I was told we wouldn’t need any extensions.
2021 road glide limited requires new half clamps for the control mount.
Can you make a video on the 14-20 road king special for the road king riders? 😎. Seem like we would have way less work to do without the fairing and Also show how the riser works and how much we can tilt it
How does the dealer justify 7 hrs to do this? Hwy Robbery
so am i right in saying that you can go to 14" hangers without changing anything? thanks for the video bud! ive got a 2016 glide
yes sir
I have a 2022 Road Glide Limited, it has heated grips is this a separate wire to pull?
Yes watch my internal wiring video for 14-23 models (separate video). It shows how to do it there
I bought a 2019 Road Glide Special that has a set of the KST Pioneer bars already installed. How hard would it be add a set of heated grips to this set up? Can it be done without removing everything?
@@rbljackson yes watch the internal wiring video for 14-23 models. It’ll be the exact same process
Thank you brother it helped me 100% 😎
Nice looking bars with a great design
no need to install poly bushings for bars that tall?
Going to 14” bars do you recommend replacing the riser bushings?
Kind of personal preference. It doesn’t hurt, but leaving them stock isn’t going to hurt anything either
Question if you have the 12 in instead of the 14 in do you still need to take the bracket out that holds the wires in the gauge cluster he said by removing you can gain 2-3 in if you have the 12 in you are technically 2 in shorter then the 14 in was just wondering?
For comparison, how tall are you? Looks like ur arms would be where I want mine. Thanks, great vid!
Will your bars work with the oem harley heated grips?
I've ordered the 12 inch Spearheads and am considering installing them myself on my '22 Road Glide Limited. Does the fact that I have heated grips raise any unusual issues?
No sir. Check out my internal wiring video for 14-23 models. I go over the heated grips in it. You could also do the locked and loaded or fully pre wired options. Check them out on the site
This seems easy, I was quoted $750 just for the replacement, bars not included in that price
Every thing installed correctly I got to reconnect gauges cluster and nothing comes on. Bikes turns on and everything. But none of the gauges light up and the screen doesn’t turn. Do you think I blew a fuse.
@@rottwaller07 check the fuses. 5amp battery most likely. If it’s not that check the pins on the backside of the gauge cluster
@@kstkustoms1324 yea it was the fuse cause I had the switch harness on the clutch side pinched smh just ordered another set from yall . I gots to be more careful
I did everything by the video. All went well until I tried to start the bike. No ignition, no controls worked, only got radio. WTF happened? Everything went so smooth.
What size clamp do I need for a 2015 road glide special? I see there’s two different sizes
1.25”
Do you also have those handlebars and 10 and 12 in
If the pins lock the bars and controls in place. They must be necessary in the long run . Just my observation
Just finished installing 12” on a 2012 RGS. Got done, no power. Radio works, no power on ignition. About to take apart, any suggestions on what to look for, which connection?
I’d like to see an installation video of the Pioneer bars.
@@RideAmerica check out my comment
So do the wires hang out the bottom and then reconnect or down the bottom and through the curve like they are on the Harley factory?
just straight out the bottom of the tube. everything tucks over at the gauge cluster, you cannot see the wires
@@kstkustoms1324 So can I still adjust the bars inward or outward if I needed to with the cables hanging down
@@newmoney8128 thanks correct. They are still fully adjustable
@@kstkustoms1324 well you guys just gained a customer
@@kstkustoms1324 when I order the handlebars Will it come with the sleeve that you use to route the wires through?
Just purchased a 2022 cvo RG do you know if you can use the stock cables and wires without extentions with the 14" spearhead ? Love these bars. Thank you
Just installed 14” on a ‘22 road glide special. Called kst and he informed me that on ’21 & ‘22 road glides you will need a 4” clutch extension. Video title is a little misleading.
@@devonhundley9855 hey how you doing yeah I misread your reply so I just deleted mine LOL I ordered the extension just so I had it just in case it does save from Cut and zip ties removing clamps trying to fish that cable to get enough slack so much simpler just to replace the stock clutch adjustment piece and put that extension on there as for the wiring I ordered wiring and was nothing like everybody said I had enough wire there I never even had to remove the plugs from that plate behind the speedometer where they're attached like people are saying to do everything was really long enough I think I only used a few of the extension and wires and the rest I just put away but they are great bars man they really look good took a couple rides to get them tweaked where I like them but ride safe and enjoy brother
How about my anti slip insert isn’t on the bars I just got off the FedEx truck, no stamped kst logo on the right side like the the set in the video 🤦🏻
We went to a traditional knurled surface and a more decorative emblem on the right side.
Rodgide special 2020 will not have enough length for hydraulic lines for a 14 inch bar. Too short. I tried it it does not work
Do these fit a 2022 RGS, 12" without having to extend any wires or lines?
KST just installed these on 2018 Road Glide CVO. Spearhead in 14” my hydro lines are tight on both sides and suggestions
Mine are too. What did you end up doing?
@@m.z.1730 The hydraulic lines are anchored to a plastic block on the right side of the neck. On a Road Glide turn your bars all the way to the right and look down inside the inner fairing on the right side. You can see the block on the frame holding the lines. The block is easy to pop out and take the brake and clutch lines out of it. Leave the other two in it and pop it back in place. This will give you plenty of slack for 14" bars. I don't know why KST doesn't tell us about this. I had to watch a Factory 47 video to find out how to do it.
Just changed my bars on my 2018 Road Glide, now my check engine light is on? How do you reset be it?
Just did mine today and my check engine light is on in my 2017 road glide special
How did you guys fix please ? Same issue
Just got my 12 inch pathfinder today..Do I need to pull the wire connector ends apart b4 placing wires in provided mesh?

How do you hide the wiring when installing on a Special!? When I ordered these from J&P it said these WILL FIT my 2019 Road King Special...HELP ASAP PLS!
I don’t have crap for clutch/brake line slack; installing 14” Pathfinders. I noticed in the video after the brake/clutch were mounted, that the lines now ran outside the cable housing (where the speedo/tach go into). Any suggestions? Thanks
Will the cables need to be extended with 14” bars on a 2019 road glide ultra?
I might just be dumb damn.. still haven't figured out how to take the throttle by wire out. Any advice?
I got mine installed but one of the throttle cable sensors wont reattach and my check engine light is on because of so. any ideas what might work ?
Hi, what is the highest possible steering handlebar I can put without changing the wires? RG 16
How to u compare those to factory 47 signature ones?
Im not 100% sure. Ours are 1.5" diameter and fully adjustable.
Would the installation be the same on a 21 road glide?
Is there a trick to get same angle on pull back on bars?
How do you run the wires through the Renegade bars? Seems nearly impossible to get around the bend in the top. I’ve been trying to pull the wires through with fishing line, but plugs won’t make that bend.
Give it a try with heated grips. It is not so simple.
Ordered and received quickly. Video died on. Installed 14 on 2015 RD Special. Stock cable where tight at 1st but, it eventually becomes easier with some more pulling and taken cables out of seated rubber clamps. Throttle side bar take some elbow grease to get in but, once in your good to adjust. Also fyi my bars had the kst badge logo on the side and not engraved on top right . Hope this helps. Great bars overall.
@@tbyrd3341are the bars straight out of slanted inward like Harley's bars
Do you have to remove the wires from the tray if you are only installing 12inch renegade bars.???
You do not have to
DO THEY MAKE 18S FOR A 21 RGS
Do u HAVE to move the tray? Seems like tray would keep things neater and bouncing around less.
You can get the wire extensions and avoid that step
I sold great video
Damn, I must be special, I didnt get any mesh for pulling my wires through, absolute nightmare trying to install these without
Ummmm yea me either it’s a bitch
What bars did you buy? Our one piece bars do not come with the mesh sleeve. It is not as effective on the one piece bars as it is on the vanguard series
16” renegades
so much easier if you just buy the extension wires for $35 from the jump before install! Save yourself a head ache!! 2019 road glide
How did your hydraulic lines fit with the 14s
Richie Rich send a link for the extension
How should i choose the length of the clamp for My 16 FLTRXS ?

Hey Tim, I did my bars today and the hydraulic lines are too tight. What did you find out from KST?
I put 12’s on my 2020 RGS today and the lines are really really tight, that’s with even cutting a couple zip ties. So tell me how the hell he got 14’s and his slack was still more than mine.

Same but finally got them on but now my speedo cluster won’t go on right and unable to insert ignition beauty ring tab . I’ve tried moving wires around several times and same , also have a check engine light on now as well . Any help with this guys?
This won't work for a 2023 RG because they switched to a cable clutch and I'm pretty sure you need extend it.
You can go up to a 12” with stock components on the 21-23 models
