    That is less complicated than I thought it would be. You mentioned a 6" extension. What do you mean and where can I find one? Thank you for sharing, for us visual learners.

    • @KevinSornig
      @KevinSornig  Год назад +2

      Glad I could help! The extension can be found on namzcustomcycleproducts.com/product-category/namz-wiring-products/plug-n-play-harnesses/complete-bike-harnesses/ that’s where I get all my wiring from, it’s a section of wires with a male and female connector, you plug it into the wires on the bars and then into the bike. I like to wait till the wires are through the bars to do it so you’re not adding more resistance when you go to pull the wires through.

    • @KevinSornig

      No need for longer clutch or brake lines on 10” bars, you will only have to reposition the lines when doing your install👍🏻

  • @kellymchenry1944
    @kellymchenry1944 2 месяца назад

    I never heard the size of the bars. I’m looking to do my 2020. I don’t have to extend anything on my 15 but I was wondering about the 2020

    • @KevinSornig
      @KevinSornig  2 месяца назад

      With a 2020 you’ll be able to run 12 inch bars without changing any cables or extending wiring. I believe you can go up to 14 inch with stock brake lines and clutch but it can be tricky. Hopefully this helps!

    You mentioned check engine lights. That has me worried about doing my own. How do you clear those if that happens? And does it mean somethings wrong?

    • @KevinSornig
      @KevinSornig  4 месяца назад +1

      The check engine light typically comes from when you “open” the circuit to the controls. The way to clear them is by holding down on the odometer switch with the ignition off, while holding the odometer switch turn ignition on, once ignition is on release the odometer switch. You will then use short presses of that switch to scroll through the different types of codes, and to access and clear codes you press and hold. For example one menu says ECM: you would press and hold to access and then press and hold to clear👍🏻

    • @KevinSornig

      You can pop those bushings out by tilting the fairing forward like I do in the video. I do however recommend having someone hold the fairing out of the way if possible because the fairing will have to move a decent bit

      @@geedubb-q1u yeah, the only slight issue is the location of the female connectors under the radio, you have to re-position them. Which admittedly I didn’t show well in this video. • @KevinSornig
      @KevinSornig  9 месяцев назад +1

      First I would start with checking your fuses. If all that appears to be in order, check your ignition switch in front of the gas tank. Sometimes the barrel can get turned if you remove the ignition like I showed, and you’re actually only putting the bike into accessory mode. If that is the case, the easiest way to do the ignition alignment is with an ignition alignment tool, I’ll post a link when I can. If the ignition switch is functioning correctly, and all the fuses are good, check to make sure you hooked up the wire harness to the proper side.

      Okay, so where I would go from here if you haven’t checked already would be for a loose or unplugged connector in the fairing. Also, I’ve seen once before with pre-wired bars, one of the wires on the handlebar harness went to the wrong spot if that makes sense
