Thx for the video , although I'm a 73 year old retired mechanic I learned a lot from you. Keep the videos coming.
You're welcome, thanks for your support!
OMG I want these exact bars.
Chrome for my 2023 standard.
Glad I saw this !!!
Excellent video! I have watched numerous bar install videos after purchasing my new 2019 RGS, and this is one of (if not) the best video on the topic. Good camera angles and explanation. I will certainly be referencing this video when I do the inevitable bar swap.
Thank you, thanks for your support!
I believe those bars give you RG a nicer look than the stock ones! Looks great!
Awesome vid! Thanks for taking the time to share it!
Great video. It helped me significantly. I installed these bars in three hours. I used a Westinghouse chain in combination with the weed whacker line. The chains weight seeks out the holes using just gravity. The plastic line is very strong and smooth flowing once it's fed through the end caps. I also installed the throttle wire before the switch wire. I only had to remove the larger of the plug heads in the switch line to accomplish installation this way. Great Job!
Excellent video, straight to the point and very helpful!
Look killer!! I'm days away from pulling the trigger on a 2022 RG Special ... just want to decide on the bars first!! You just helped bigtime!
Looks great. I bought a 2019 RGS in Industrial Grey early this month. Next monday the bike is delivered. I have the same bars installed right at the dealer before delivery.
Gorgeous bike,
Best regards from Germany
Monty
After watching the video I ordered the bars. I’m sold! Thanks for your videos, I enjoy your reviews. Keep it up.
Awesome! Thanks for your support!
The hell with the bars! What you do for a living to have them toys in that garage!? Lol good video!
Mom and dad 😂
@Doowork Productions - Awesome video! Thanks for sharing! It allowed me to visualize the process and think it through before attempting. I hope you don't mind if I share a tip I learned tonight installing these bars on my 2019 RGS.......
Tip for anyone installing these bars - you DO NOT have to REMOVE THE CONNECTOR PINS to install the throttle and controls harness. Use the tips from this video on using a weight and fishing line to route it through the bars using gravity. When installing these two harnesses through the bar give this a try:
1. Route the controls harness first. I wrapped the fishing line around the harness about 2 inches from the end and only used 1 wrap of tape to secure it
2. wrap a 2nd piece of fishing line onto the harness that you can pull through the bar to use for the throttle harness to be installed next.
3. Pull the controls harness through the bar out of the hole where the bar plug was. From there you can push it through the straight part of the bar to the center hole and out.
4. Secure the fishing line to the throttle harness by staggering the connectors and putting them inline with each other. Wrap the fishing line and use 1 layer of electrical tape only.
5. Lube the 3 inches of electrical tape with vaseline. Pulling through the bar hole where the plug was, you can work it back and forth pulling on both ends until it passed by the bend
6. Pull the throttle harness through the hole at the end of the bar all the way until the throttle sensor sits tight in the end of the bar.
7. From there, bend the throttle harness and feed it back into the bar through the straight section to the center hole
It's not easy, but I found it can be done without removing the wires from the connector and feel it saved me a lot of time. I had these bars installed in 2 hours start to finish. Good luck all!
Just installed these on my 2020 Road Glide Special last night, along with some Ness grips. Love em.
Nice!
LOOKS GREAT !!!…. I too like the alignment with the forks ! THANKS FOR SHARING !!!
Great video, Man! Getting ready to install a set of these on my wife's '21 RG Special and this is super helpful. The dealership makes is sound hard but you make it clear and easy, so thanks for saving us a thousand dollars.
I have a 23 road glide and was looking at adding the chizeled lo ones on mine. Did you have to change of the wiring or the clutch/brake line?
Great video man ! Keep it up . This kind of content will make your channel grow soo quick... love the bike’s. Thanx for great detail on this job. Best bar install video i have seen on you tube ..
Thank you, I appreciate that! Thanks for your support!
Great video, very helpful! Love the Demon in the back. I have a black Redeye in mine and a blue Cvo ultra
I put the same bars on my 18 Road Glide in December. The bike handles totally different, I feel like I have much better control of the bike. The stock bars hurt my shoulders. I just got back from sturgis a few days ago, clocked almost 2K miles no pain at all.
That's great to hear! And yes, I agree!
THANK YOU!!!!!! I’ve been going crazy trying to decide between 12” and the chizled low bars. My road king had 18’s and my bobber has 21’s and I loved them but when I got on the road glide I was shocked at how much I liked the feel of the low bars. I’m 5’6” so reach was a concern of mine as well. I also ride the road glide a lot more aggressively so didn’t think tall bars would be the best for that. Did you notice any better feel for the handling characteristics with the chizled low’s? GREAT channel!!! Keep up the good work!
Yeah I am the same, These bars handle great. I have 0 complaints. I have about 100 miles on these bars so far! Thanks for your support!
I have the same 9" bars on my 18 Road Glide, I love the way it handles now. You are going to love them.
I hated them and bought the 12" FXR Division MotorWitch Bars lol I love them now haha
@@DOOWORKPRODUCTIONS Really? I love mine. I haven't been able to ride because my engine failed at 9K. Rocker arm bolts backed out bending all of my pushrods.
@@DOOWORKPRODUCTIONS In response to your comment, are you now saying that you did not like the Harley Davidson Chizeled Lo Handlebars? If that so, why?
@@inkedritualtattoocare284 Yes, they made my arms cramp up on long rides..
Quick tip when feeding wires IN or OUT. Silicone spray lubricant is your best friend.
Excellent video. Going to be adding these same bars to my 2021 FLTRXS.
Nice looking bars! Great video! I wish you had video of your posture and reach with the old bars verses the new ones. I like the drag bar look I just don’t want to lose being able to have my back using the seat back during really long rides. I am 5:10.
Ron here, this is exactly the video I was looking for. Great looking bars. Looks like a great feel. Now I gotta look for your riding review, cuz I’m now thinking bout getting new bars
awesome turn out and same for video, helped me tremendously, even being mechanical. the no missed steps is important. Anything else is just details that we all have quirks about, like mirrors, grips, bar placement, etc...just finished my Low bars, not the chiseled...same look. love them! Rid On!
Very nice, I have a 21 Road Glide Special that I just bought, traded in my 18 Street Glide for it. Trying to decide what bars I want to go with. And I really like these. I am also only 5"7. Thanks, this video is very helpful. People tell me to go with 14" bars, but I think they will be too big. I was thinking 12" but I really like how these look.
Just a heads up next time you run Internal wires on apes or really any bar I use like ceiling fan chain with the little balls it comes out of the holes pretty quick
I just bought a new road glide and have been struggling to find bars I like. I actually really dig there bars. Just wish the made them in 1.5”.
Have the same bars on my 2020 RGS - they are awesome. I’m 6’0 & they work great.
Good content! The OEM bars are poor at best. Thought about T bars and decided to go with Vindikta Hoopteeze.
Damn good video, very detailed, I didn't know about these bars before I got some factory 47's 12inch signature bars gloss black and I love mine, but your bars look damn good 👌🏽
Excellent Video, will certainly use it for my new bars.
I like how you make the video almost idiot proof with the details perfect not a big fan of the bars other video lead me to this which I’m trying to figure out with T Bars I’m going to go with thanks for the great video
Thanks for the link man definitely the cheapest I’ve been able to find. I’m 5’11” hoping these work well for me
I’m pricing a 2020 road glide and I wanted these exact bars and when I looked at the build sheet the shop line at eight hours I see why now nice job on your part very well thought out nice fit and finish good job
Very nice install. It's a good look.
Same bars on my 2019 special but I went with 12 inch. Looks great,
Doc Wells I have the same bike. How comfortable are the 12 inch bars compared to stock?
Had the same put on my '17 roadglide....with the new tires, it handles like it has rack and pinion steering!!!!
Great video ! Good explanation ! Excellent Job !
I dont even own the bike but watched the whole video. They look nice and i like the street glide bikes. I like how the mirros on the bars not on the ferrings! Nice bioe man 👍👌
Thank You!
Drumax Style 😂👍
Nice looking bars but I personally prefer risers with moto bars. Much more comfortable and better handing in my opinion.
Nice Bike!!! Can you post a quick video while you are sitting on the bike to get a perspective of the new bars?
Thanks in advance.
I just picked mine up today with new grips for my 19 .
Looks great man, ride safe
Bars look great ! You save a ton of money by being able to do the work yourself
Thank you! And yes you do!
Great video... Looks awesome
Just picked up the new Road Glide CVO last week and putting 19s on...
Congrats!
Who did the paint job on the carbon fiber? I am doing a similar build and I would like to hire the painter.
Bars look good but I wish you would have took a vid of you on the bike. I'm your height and the stock bars are to low and I lean forward to far on my 21 Road Glide. I was thinking 14 inch would be better for my height.
YOu said in the video these are the 9" bars or are they 12" bars? I am getting ready to install 12" bars on my RGU and tips before I start the job? Ride Safe
Im going to change my bars myself now
Are the chizeled lo handlebars more of a reach or about the same as stock bars?. Thanks for your videos great work and has giving me some insight on my 2019 RG.
They have more of a reach than the stock bars.. You're welcome, thanks for your support!
Thank you!!!!! You made my choice on my new bars easier. I am 5' 6" so those bars will be perfect for me. I was doubting the plugs, but since those plugs are not rubber, then I will definitely buy these bars. Thank you also for the series. I have a bike like yours but in Industrial Grey Denim. I am not making a clone of your bike, but it is sure nice to see another vision on how to make these bikes unique. Ride safe!!! I have not seen your seat video yet, but I love the look of that seat.
Glad I helped make your decision! Very Nice! Thanks for your support!
These look so much better! Great work!!
Thanks!
It is doable without depinning if u have the new style throttle cable.
If u are a shorter dude the reach is “agressive”
To say the least
I popped the pin to pull em back but that’s a stop gap measure
Gonna go for some 12s
When tab rolls out their bars in chrome.
The Lo bars look FIRE 🔥..
bike handles well but I need to be more upright in posture
Love them want some for my roadking special 2021 the factory’s have me sitting forward 2in more than I want to be they are 9.25 im 5’9” but a 9in rise want do it for me if you have any suggestions let me know I don’t care for ape hangers but that might be the ticket 12in
I’ve got the same bars on mine and I think they are perfect. A little more aggressive than standard but a much better ride. I’ve got the 4” screen and thinking of the Klock Werks 6.5” are you pleased with yours?
Nice! Yes I am!
Well I got the bars installed, it was a nightmare. I had to look up videos on how to take apart the wires, etc and just as I was wrapping things up, the fork lock will not engage. My bike has been locked to a lift so I didn't move the handlebars, but I cannot get the fork lock to seat. Your video shows how to remove the fork lock, but not how to put it back and I fear from trying to figure it out, I got it out of alignment which is now going to cost me some crazy money to fix. I suggest editing this video with a warning about fork lock removal/reinstall. Looks like I learned the hard expensive way.
Great video, thanks. What's the torque specs for the handlebar clamp bolts? Thanks
Thanks for your video. I'm about to put on the Motorwitch bars you recommended.
Bike is looking very nice my man, I personally would have gone with Factory 47 bars @ 14". you find as time goes on that you would have preferred a taller bar for comfort. STILL LOOKING GOOD.
Thank you..
Bar install on a Road Glide is no problem compared to any bikes with the Bat Wing fairing. 45 minutes compared to two hours?
I have a 2018 RG, just bought it last month. The previous owner added heated rubber grips. When I went to order the Chizzled bars, it says they are not compatible with heated rubber grips. Have you had any experience replacing stock bars that have heated grips? Any thoughts on why they would not be compatible?
Only 8"... they must still be below your shoulder height right?
Total Width please?
I don’t see a ride review, did you video one ? Thanks
So I did this, same exact bars. The bike starts but my throttle doesn't respond. I put a new throttle sensor in and have good connections. The fuel and battery gauge also aren't working...any ideas???
I'm 5'9"-ish.... wondering your thoughts on having those bars forward, would they give enough reach? what's your opinion?
Them look perfect for the RG. Thx for sharing.
I have a 15 RG CVO. The Harley website says these won’t work. Looking at the specs for these and what “fits “ my CVO they’re not far off. I’m thinking RG is RG and the specs are not that far off. I’m 5’6” and want to lose the stock bars because when I rolled them up they turn my wrists in and make it uncomfortable. I tried KST 12” but then I’m in the clouds on a turn. Do have any thoughts on why the chizel low bars may not fit? Thanks. Pete.
I really like the bars, definitely a good choice, do they come in chrome also?
Thanks! Yes they do!
Hello, did you kept all stock cables?
My dealership says that I have to replace higher brake cable and clutch cable,
I have a 2020 road glide
Thanks
Kept the stock cables
DOOWORK PRODUCTIONS tks keep Up the good work
Looks awesome I really like them even more then the Yaffe bars
I’m 5’7” as well, with a ‘19 RGS in Indy Gray. Do these bars help improve your posture on the bike for touring? The Harley website states these give a more sporty, forward-leaning positioning for the rider.
Yes they do! Harley's description of these bars are spot on! You will be happy with them..
Cool bars, exactly what I want to install on my 2020 roadglide. If I remove the main fuse, will I still get the "check engine" light?
I'm not sure..
I was thinking about getting those on my road glide glad I came across you video
Was waiting for this vid! Awesome Bars these are my next mod
Just an old biker’s thought: Instead of using the fishing line/trimmer line, just grab a box of dental floss. Before you remove the end caps, you just tie a piece of paper to an end of the floss, then use compressed air to blow the floss through the bar. It’s going to follow the air travel. Floss is light and strong. Most are waxed, which will coat the edges for easier passage. You can even double it for added strength without compromising flexibility.
Bike is awesome been watching since March when I bought 2020 RGS. I put 12" yaffe monky brs. Im wondering did bike handle better after installing 10"
Bike handles much better after I installed 12" Motorwitch Bars from FXR Division!
Ok u changed out the chizled lo bars.
@@Napalm44 Yes.
Nice video just wondering if you can install the 12 inch yafee monkey bars the same way.and would you need the wiring kit and there handle bar clamp ?
great video in explaining on how to do the install, but what about the torque specs for the bars ? also, just curious as to why weren't you able to reinstall the bracket under the lock switch without removing the lock assembly .it looked like it was easily removed. I think an air compressor with a blower tip would do the trick to feed the wires true the bars. thoughts?
All he had to do was turn the handlebars and then the bottom piece with a slid right on I've taken mine on and off a few times that way you don't have to remove the ignition switch.
How different are these compared to the stock bars? How much taller? How much further forward? You're giving me great ideas for my new RG! Thanks
About 1" taller than stock.. About 2" further forward.. Glad to hear that! Thanks for your support!
Been watching since you started your road glide. I want your bike lol.
Thanks for your support!
Do you know if they have done any changes for the 2021 RGS when it comes to the connectors you have to disassemble ?
just order one. Thanks for your details info 👍
Looks awesome 👌 what's the size of the Wingshield?
6"
Looks good, I like it
I'm currently trying to fit the wires through the handlebars you said were a pain... I'm ready to quit my job and walk away 😂😂😂
LOL yeah it is a pain in the A$$ that's forsure!
On the throttle side did you pull both sets of cables (controls + throttle by wire) through together, or one at a time?
On mine I disconnected plugs/wires at the throttle end and pulled them out the bottom center of bars, simple.
You have to tape them together and pull them through together.
@@DOOWORKPRODUCTIONS Thanks. I'll have a double set of wires on the clutch side too with heated grips. So depinning all the connectors and pulling the sets of cable bundles together should be the best strategy.
Dude...I'm interested in the antenna you have gone with on this RGS. I've left two other inquiries in other videos... So, what kind of antenna did you use? Looks great. How does it perform compared to the stock antenna?
Handle bars look really nice!!
I replied to you on my last video...
This One:
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0069EQSSY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You should always pull the main fuse when working on anything electrical, then you won't get codes. 👍🏻
They look fantastic! Nice choice.
Do you think the mirrors would hit a 12 inch sport flare klockwerks windscreen?
Great video brother question did you use your stock cables like your brake n clutch line?
Thank you, yes I used stock cables..
If I do 14 you think I can still use the stock lines?
@@mikerodriguez8245 No, with 14" bars you will need longer cables..
Did I see a 9 inch Klockwerks sport flare windshield on your RG? If so i have the same bars and also the KW 9" flare on my 2018 CVO RG but my bars hit the windshield WHen I turn the 9" low chiseled handlebars
full lock. Any thoughts?
I'm looking at the Clockworks ergo bars for my 14 Electra Glide Limited
i was not pleased with this bars on my 2021 rgs . i went off this video because im short also. the bars made me lean over to much and not straight up. 350 bucks gone but anyways i went with 12 in dominator cycle bars im going to try those. i think i could do a 14 but the i dont think my arms are long enough for a sharp turn.
Does it cause you to lean forward excessively? I’m 5’10”, so I’m slightly taller, but I also have highway pegs. I don’t want to feel like I’m trying to stretch my hamstrings when I ride.
You definitely lean more forward than you do with the stock bars..
I'm also 5'7" and wanting to get these bars. Do they block the gas gauge? Also, if I have the dealer install them should I say to pull the bars back all the way? Not sure how I can make sure the reach is perfect if I have the dealer install. (I'm not mechanically inclined so if I try to do this myself I'll more than likely break something lol).
No they don't.. And yes you should.. They will make it right for you, just be there when they install them so you can go back there and adjust the bars to your liking..
It would have been nice if you would have showed how you took that connector apart.
Can the stock bars be rolled back toward me? I see where you pointed out the pin in the triple trees that go through the bar.
Yes they can..
Where did you purchase your bars from ? Ran into you at bikes on the bricks, great video!
Link to the bars is in the description of the video. It was nice talking to ya, hope my video helps with your install!
Just curious, why didn’t you use the riser bushings?
