That tech is playing it safe, I have installed several of these kst’s and you don’t have to extend anything, just route your wires in safe manner and my customers have had them on for a long time and no issues. But nothing wrong with installing the extension at all, great job!!
Hey man started mine last night. Wiring under gauge cluster no problem You have any hints getting enough room on your brake clutch lines? Cut all the zip ties.
Finally!! The truth about whether you need to extend cables or not. So many out there that say “no”, and may get away with it, but it’s not “right”. Do it right the first time! If you can’t afford it, wait until you can - spoken by someone that has experienced the pain of swapping bars without swapping cables…because they all said you didn’t need to. Great video!
well friend, the people that make the bars said you don't need to. Just depends on whose "truth" meshes with what you want to believe eh? Definitely a BIG difference between what is FACT and what is a personal preference.
I had 14" Spearheads on my 15 Road Glide when I traded it in on my 2020 Road glide I ordered the exact same bars for it the night I took it home! Just installed them last weekend! Your gonna love them! Not only do they look badass they are much more comfortable than the stock bars!
I installed these same bars back in December and have not had any issues with them coming lose or moving on me. I have about 10k miles on them and I love them.
Bought my new Roadglide 2020 special from Denny's in October, they were definitely the most up front and easiest dealership I've brought from. I bought the 12" Spearhead KST, been debating on the wiring extensions.
So I got the KST Spearheads 14” and I must say they are so comfortable compared to the T Bar style I had. Quality and functionality with style!! Ride on!

@@JCMaxi Yes I did buy them and yes I had plenty of issues... I struggled getting the cables run and finally gave up.. Ended up buying another brand that was plug and play.
@@tallmike6598 thanks for the update. I got the 12" spearheads and the wiring was a PITA. Video made it look so simple, but the ends of the connectors kept getting stuck, I finally used some painters tape to round of the sharp edges. Ughhh. The clutch cable is like 3" too short, even after cutting all the zips and removing from frame holders.
Very well done! I appreciate the detailed and objective explanations. I saw these bars at Destination Daytona last week and I was impressed. I am ordering them in 12". Thanks for the video. It helped. Safe travels.
Sweet looking scoot! I dig the adjustability these provide and currious how the screws/tightening will hold up. For my last 3 bikes I've had KST and currently running 12" Mayhem on my 17 SGS, and 14" Double trouble on my 18 Heritage. Shiny side up and let her rip!!
Man when I see all that technical wrenching, taking stuff apart, reroute wiring, grinding stuff down, I sure love paying a certified technician to do that sh*t! Might be the first set of apes I really like.
those pins break off easy with a little tap ,yes the wire extensions and a fatbagger 4' clutch extension makes installation simple with the 14' spearhead bars
Great video!!! Definitely installing these on my 2022 RGST! I just can't decide between the 12" or 14"'s. Your arm and hand position looks perfect on the video. If, I may ask what's your height? I'm 6' and trying to decide between 12" or 14." Thanks!!!
Thank you so much.... it took roughly 3.5 hours. That was us taking our time & figuring them out & me adjusting them a few times. These style of bars had never been installed before so it was a little bit longer.
If you want to keep the wiring caddy, you would need to extend the wires. But that caddy is a piece of cheap plastic anyway. I have these bars since Biketoberfest 2019. Only issue is they got loose once. Some Loctite on the clamp bolts and problem solved. Ride safe and enjoy those bars.
I thought KST stopped selling the clamp piece with the rubber insert. They have had several problems and now sell it with that area knurled. I have the bars with the rubber piece and the bars move and I had to buy a gorilla clamp with set screws.
Is that helmet louder than the previous? The wind noise just seemed louder than usual. But the bars look badass. Wondering how you mustang seat will do also.
I know Im asking the wrong place but does someone know a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly lost the login password. I love any assistance you can give me!
@Brian Kole I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
That is a good question.... I wish we could because I like the adjustable HD backrest so much better. But with the Mustang Seat being a solid pan... you have to use their backrest.
You would need a slot not just a hole for adjustment. The pin grinds off very easy. The bars are stainless steel drilling a hole would be much more difficult.
I put the 14" on my bike. KST did them at Biketoberfest. You don't need the extensions for the wires on the 14" it took the 45 minutes start to finish.
On my 15 road glide I didn't use the extensions it worked but it was a stretch. When I did them on my 2020 I went ahead and bought the extensions they were only $35
Seems y'all would have saved a little time by actually watching the KST install video specifically as it refers to the perch clamps. 🙂 Also, I noticed at 6:46 the hydraulics are "under the bar". KST recommends that they be placed above the bar. Looks like with some editing, they got it right later on.
The Ornery One Road Glide Thanks. I’m 6’2 so I think I will go with 16’ bars. I’ve got a 2015 CVO Road Glide Ultra. Your videos have been very helpful: gonna go with a Memphis Shades screen too. ✌🏼

There need to be greater consequences to being on the phone while driving. Sorry for ranting, not sorry. Oh, and the bars are sick. Definitely made my mind that these are my first upgrade to the new bike. Trading the street glide in for a road glide tomorrow. KST's on the street glide as well.
I have a brand new 14" klock werks dark smoked I'm selling. It's got 40 miles on it. I had to go with the 15" . I'm 6'3" and the 14 was just a bit short. I'll give a great deal on it
