Good evening sir my name is Xavier just wanted to drop a note. I think your video is one of the best out there in RUclips land. Just can’t believe you don’t have enough following with this great information procedure on the bike and handle installation but kudos to you. I’m sure whoever sees your video appreciates everything you’ve done for us that are learning thanks again brother from apopka Florida. If you’re ever in Florida look us up Sons of combat vmc ..very small group dedicated X airborne ranger soldier
Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I appreciate the kind words and means a lot. I hope the video helps someone that is thinking of doing a handlebar install. I really enjoy doing install videos but there is only so many things I can install on my bike. Maybe I need a second bike ha. I was actually in Florida last year in Port Charlotte for a World Record Poker Run. Take care brother and enjoy the ride✌🤙👊💯
Absolutely love my Milwaukee M12 ratchet. Shimmying the lever to not snap off the tab on the clutch and brake levers is really an annoying design. Its snapped on me a few times over the years. I'm seriously thing of installing the nostalgic heated grips on the revival. (commenting as I'm watching) I know how many hours it took to do this task and this video is gold for someone wanting to tray and save some serious coin. Out freak'n standing video Randy. Eric
Thank You Eric! It is a long process but I do enjoy working on my bike and I can tell you do too. I always say if I can help one person it’s worth it. Heated grips would be a nice addition. The more comfort the better. Appreciate all the support. Take care💯👊🤘
Harley Gurl Wow!! Another great install as always. Very detailed and although I know it is not easy to do, especially the threading of the cables/wires inside the bars, you make it look easy. Patience....you show that you have that. GOOD stuff Great install!! Bummer about the bent bars! Good that they replaced them for you. Those bars look awesome!!!
Good stuff Randy. I'll be watching this in full later today. I'm very interested in learning how to do a bar change. Thanks for sharing. Ride safe. 👊👍🇺🇸
Vid so well done, details and impressive knowledge and a great teacher. So I brought all these thumbs ups for you too👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼💯😎💫
Great job on the install brother, I like the way that you walked through this one, it will definitely be a video that will help out anyone that is thinking of changing out there bar's, and big kudos to KST for taking care of you on the bent bar's, again, awesome install brother💯👊🏽😎
Look at you Big baller with power tools and no cussing. Lol great video you just forced me to do my own install when I get cruise control on my breakout.
I love working on the bike. You ride it you wrench it. That’s how we learn right. You definitely need cruise control. I can’t go back to a bike without it. Take care bro👊🤙
Greatly appreciated Scott. It definitely takes time and patience. But I saved a lot of money and it’s nice to know how everything works. I enjoyed the process. 🤙✌️💯
@@SinisterClutch hey brother. Your video is the only one I have seen that leads me to believe this. I have been struggling to get the wires to stay inside of the housing. Any chance you could send me a pic of how they rout out of the housing. I’d really appreciate it
@@joehengels5409 Let me explain this in detail. So by factory the Switch Housing for the turn signals wiring harness is on the outside of the bars as you can see at 8:20 in the video on the left and 10:00 on the right. At 19:25 I start to show that I'm installing the right switch housing inside the new KST Bars by taping it to the paracord attached to the braided steel wire.
Again, great video. Got the bars on and controls mounted. I noticed the heated grips are the same as the ones I bought. Can I ask how you wired them in? Thanks again for your help
@@joehengels5409 So the heated grips came with a 10” extension wire for the left side that you definitely need. The right side already has the wire ran from factory which is part of the throttle by wire. For my particular heated grips I had to connect a wire harness to the battery so I took the tank off and ran the wire alone the frame. Also I’m a fan of soldering so that was my choice of how to connect the wires. Sorry I don’t have a video on that because I wasn’t on RUclips when I originally installed them. Hope this helps
@@SinisterClutch hey no problem. Yes I looked and didn’t see one. I’d like to pick your brain if I could. I have the red with a fuse goes to battery. A black which is ground and a orange/ white to accessory power. Thanks again
I think 4 hours is sufficient. It took me longer because I filmed it. Just lay everything you need out and it will go faster. The wiring for the new bars is the most time consuming part because you don’t want to bind or snap anything. Appreciate you watching and commenting. Let me know if you have questions. Take care✌️
Hi I loved the video. Was just wondering how tall you were? I'm about 5foot 7inches tall and was looking to change out my bars and I got told to go with 12in kst but think they are to tall for me. Also how do you like th 10in bars? Are they comfortable on long rides?
Thanks for watching and commenting. I’m 5’10” and love the handlebars. Since installing them I’ve put over 10K miles on the bike and they are very comfortable. I feel more relaxed on long rides and wished I’d installed them sooner. I thought about 12” handlebars but I ride in cold weather and wanted to keep my hands behind the fairing as much as possible. If I remember correctly they are more like 10 3/4”. Hope this helps 🤙
@@SinisterClutch Thank you very much!! This helps a lot. I ride in cold weather too being up here in central New York. So keeping warm is always important when its below freezing.
Look good I videoed my install but it was taking to dam long to do, so I scraped that. How do they feel? I put the wild one chubbies on mine but I might change them
So far I like them but I need more riding. Too much bad weather anymore. I had a lot of video I cut out. Editing took a long time too. Take care brother 🤙
As I am fighting the idea of changing the looks of my RKS I sat on a heritage-after the Harley Faster Further event at my local dealer- with I believe 14’ bars and loved how they felt on my broken by Uncle Sam back lol. Question is did you get longer lines or not? Thank great share bud!
No you won’t need longer clutch and brake cables unless you go above 12”. I just removed the zip ties to get slack in the cables. Also the clutch cable is pushed to the right of the bike so I moved it to the left and had plenty of length.
Awesome thanks man, I didn't want to start taking everything apart just to find out I need different bolts. Definitely be using this video to walk me through it cuz you did a great job explaining everything. Thanks again, time to get these bushings and bars on.

Yes you don’t need extended cables for brake and clutch cables. You do need extensions for the switch housing wiring harness.
People wonder why these jobs cost so much when you have the dealer do them. Alot of work, but very satisfying to do it yourself
Yes it is and I save a good amount of money doing it myself. Plus you learn a little more about your bike.
can you use the stock riser bushing bolts or do you need longer ones when changing bushings cuz my bushings didn't come with new bolts
