Dude, don’t feel that way. I take the cake when it comes to taking a long time to install bars. I watched plenty of videos on how to install the spearhead KST bars and it still took me over 5 hours 😩 I did take my time and there were plenty of breaks in between to minimize frustration levels 😬 In all, I felt like a champ when I completed the install. Nothing like looking at your finished project and telling yourself “yeah, I did that” 😇👍 Lastly, it’s not so much about being frugal with your money. It’s more due to the abusive prices everywhere you go these days. HD dealership by me charges $130/hr and “estimated” this to be a 4 hour job. Throw in taxes and tip and you’re around $625 - $650. I rather take that money and buy some extended side covers for my RGS. Thanks for the video. Ride safely.
And still another reason I paid for bars and installation, also from KST, at Ocean City Bike Week. All done, including them adjusting bars to me while sitting on bike, in under an hour. Install cost-300 dollars was well spent compared to 3 times the cost at Harley dealers and no headaches! I have the same bars and Mustang seat(heated).Happy with both!
Honestly I love working on my bike and the satisfaction of doing it myself. Also I lm in sothern oklahoma and they don't come here so options are limited. The cheapest place here is about 800 to install. I don't blame you though.
Yes. I called harley parts department to see how long the factory cable was and went on dennis kirk and ordered one 4 in longer. They aren't hard to change just have to be able to change the fluid.
They said it should be fine but I changed it anyway. They said they do it that way all the time but it sure was tight. Better not to risk it in my opinion.

Lol not as easy as they make it look.

Great video. You said you extended the clutch cable. How did you do that? Can you share what you purchased?
Yes. I called harley parts department to see how long the factory cable was and went on dennis kirk and ordered one 4 in longer. They aren't hard to change just have to be able to change the fluid.
Thanks for putting out this video. I'm going to go with the k s t custom bison bar is also on my 2017 electra glide.
I really like mine. Thanks for watching.
Waiting on my bison bagger 12s patiently...
It's hard to wait but it is worth it.
Thanks for watching.
What did kst say about the clutch cable?
They said it should be fine but I changed it anyway. They said they do it that way all the time but it sure was tight. Better not to risk it in my opinion.
Mine has been great. Very happy with install. Anytime you can avoid the "stealership" is a great thing!
And 12 inches is max before needing everything extended by the way.
Yes 12 is the max.
I definitely agree. I don't take it to the dealership unless it's a must.
