    The diffs
Starting with some offroad stuff, aka the point
In the cabin you can lock the rear OR BOTH
This is something you almost never see
Not on TRD Pros, not on raptor trucks
    Shocks
    These are the multimatic shocks
They’re great for dissipating heat under compression
But they also ride a lot better
    They’re gold and blue
    Tires
Last gen only got 31 in tires
But with the 3 in lift for ZR2 and adapted bumpers
You’ve got 33 in Goodyear M/T tires here
17 in two-tone wheel (looks cool)
    Has ZR2 logo on it
Fenders flared out for the tires
    High and wide
The chassis is a lot different from last gen
    Axles pushed to extreme ends
Revised bumpers for approach and departure
    Approach - 38.6
    Departure - 25.2
    Breakover - 24.8
    3 in lift for ZR2
    Almost 11 inches of clearance
    Modes
    Normal and tow
    But THREE offroad modes
    Offroad - catch-all
    Baja - high speed
    Terrain - crawling
Have tested these all out in Canyon AT4X
    The engine
This truck gets the new 2.7T 4clyinder that you’ll see
This replaces the V6, diesels, etc
There’s 3 different outputs you can get in the CO
The ZR2 comes std with the high output
    27 psi boost
    310 hp
    430 lbft
Rated at 16 mpg combined, better
    Bowties
There’s some interesting stuff with the bowties here
The only gold one is on the key
And when you get in the truck
    Flowtie up front is red
    Matches front recovery hooks
No rear bowtie, just chevrolet stamped in
    Interior bowties
    Steering wheel is black
    Hidden gear selector
    Interior camo
There’s camo in EVERY CREVASSE here
    In each door pocket
    In the cupholders
    In the wireless charger
    On the dash
    Around the air vents
    Hidden cubby behind screen
For all the interior camo there is no ext camo
    Unlike the Tundra TRD Pro
    Offroad screen
    Three screens with different info
    Baja
    Terrain
    overland
    ZR2 flare
    The ZR2 color is red
    Grille badge
    Flowtie accent
    Bedside sticker
    Tailgate badge
    Back of bed stamp
    Dashboard badge
But then there’s the yellow interior stitching
Thought it was just a nice color match ext
But they’re all yellow if you want ZR2
    Hood
    Embellished for ZR2
Matte decal to kill glare when ascending
But thought for sure they’d put a ZR2 badge on the hood
    Air Down mode
    Will auto air down tires
    Honk when done
    Won’t air back up obviously
    Colors
    Nitro yellow metallic is epic
    Mirror and windows are black
    But side badging is chrome?
    Rear bumper is GLOSS black
Also has weird dimples for grip
    Washer jets
    Windshield washer jets are raised
So avoid icing shut in the winter
    Lights
    LEds here
    Bowtie
    triangles
    Incandescent turn signal
    Same in back
    Auto headlights std
    Auto highbeams std
No headlights on stalk, in screen
    Infotainment
11 in screen std across all trims
    Looks great
    Google built in
    Assistant
    Maps
Podcasts, not limited to news like sierra
    Wireless ACP & AA
    Vehicle status screen
    VERY in-depth
    Cluster
    Also 11 in screen
    SUPER customizable
Like 5 diff views including full map screen
    Offroad screen
    Protection
    Rock rails here
Something i complained about on the Trail Boss
    Kind of large step-over
    Touch paint
    Skids
    Cameras
    360 cameras are awesome
    Even underbody camera***
    Trailering & trail riding
The 360 camera shows sunkissed ZR2
Not exactly oriented with the sun, but nice
    Seats
    Heated and cooled
    Auto cooled - amazing
    Two tine
    Headrests too far forward
    Heated steering wheel too
    Steering wheel behind buttons
    Trip reset
    Even more hidden than headlights
Delivery driver couldnt find it at all
Took me 5 min, but that’s too long
    Rear seats
    Reasonable size…
    Seat backs dont open up
    Seats fold up
Vents are nice, chargers, outlet, manual window
    Sunroof $1000
    All window button
The 95k sierra last week didnt have this
Auto down, but not back up
    All windows auto down
    Only driver auto back up
    Towing
    6000 lbs for ZR2
Other COs max out at 7700lbs
    Bed
    Hidden cooler cubby
    1280 payload
    5 foot bed
    ZR2 stamped in
Top of gate and walls look like mountains
    Aux button
This isn’t to plug in your phone
It’s to input a winch or lightbar
    Grille
Each trim gets unique grille design
    Price
    Starts at 48k
    As tested 52,600

Top left on infotainment screen has a lights icon. One click to access the lights, no need to go in the menus.

So many reviewers keep getting that wrong. Even the Motor Trend review talked about having to go into sub menu for the lights. I drive a 2023 Colorado LT for work and have put 600 miles on it. But I find the headlight switch just fine and one does get used to the wiper switch.

I just bought this same truck color and all. I love this truck. Sold my 2024 Tundra TRD pro. Talk about an over priced pos there. No regrets

That interior pattern isn't trying to be camo btw, they call it "crushed carbon". Meant to look like forged carbon material, but it does kind of look like camo 😂. Also air down mode doesn't auto deflate the tires for you, it just honks when you reach your target pressure while manually deflating them. And the AUX button on the dash turns on the inverter for the bed/interior 120v outlets.

    • @kx8960
      @kx8960 9 месяцев назад

Yup, I thought the same looking at the dash. I wonder if the truck will honk when re-inflating the tires? You'd think it would, I see no reason it wouldn't. It's looking for a target pressure, not whether the pressure is going up or down. THAT, would be cool. Air it down to just a little above target pressure, use a more accurate gage to finish (or not, hey, we're 'wheelin', right?), then air up a little above target pressure, and use the gage again to set a more accurate pressure (more important on the street).

From me being in the Marines and being a vehicle operator. When people say "military grade" to a civilian that sounds great to a veteran we see something made from the cheapest material by the lowest bidder. But I am sure the shocks on here are better than the military made ones

I still like the last model better because of the v6 and the diesel option this one the turbo is going to fail along with all the tech that has failed already in some of these trucks to me Gm still cheaped out on this truck no fog lights on this truck and no upfitter switches to add lights or winch

    • @kx8960
      @kx8960 9 месяцев назад +2

The 4-cyl has been in FULL-SIZE trucks for a few years now, with minimal issues, and makes more power and is a MUCH better engine than the old V6 or diesel. There ARE foglights on the ZR2.

    • @ATF2099
      @ATF2099 8 месяцев назад

offroad model never had foglights, zq8 street trucks do. offroad lights more appropriate.

just bought a 23 white n black what i hate number 1 winshield wiper switch sucks have to rotate it with thumb on the front then grab the tiny nipple sticking out with four finger to turn number 2 you have to use the touch screen for almost everything biggest thing for me even though you set your headlights to auto call me petty but what a pain in the ass to turn your driving lights on every single time threw the touch screen num,ber 3 they give ya fronjt assisted steps for front but bend ya over 450 bucks for the back come on n for 53500 should have htdrawlic hood struts nope ya gotta spend extra 100 for those that should have power passenger seat n a power rear sliding window i love the truck but chevy cheaps out on alot of shit and i wouldnt even buy one without tech packagefor basically 1500 more when u get about 4 grand worth of stuff

I'm not sold. Had chance for 22 or 23. That engine on the 23 was soo underpowered. It will not hold later. Will be problematic. 23 Interior sucks Compared to 22. Rock sliders on 23 are to close to body. Open airupdates on 23 will leave you stranded. Soo glad I bought the 22. The 25 ZR2 is what I'm looking at now. Don't buy this year people.

I'm waiting until 2024, or, sadly, maybe until 2025 (if the UAW assholes on strike delay things too long) because of all the little issues (loose trim, etc.) and NOT-so-little issues (4WD disengaging, bricked ECU, dead battery, etc.). Hopefully they can get their quality control UNDER control, and either get the strikers back to work or fire them and hire new non-union people like Toyota did. For reliability reasons, currently having a Toyota (best vehicle I've ever owned) I'd RATHER have a Tacoma, BUT, they TOTALLY dropped the ball and STILL don't have a front locker. WTF??? But, I tell you, if this UAW strike goes on long enough to delay things, I may give Chevy and the other US automakers the double middle finger and go with a 'Taco anyways and have an ARB front locker installed. We'll see if the UAW decides to cut their OWN throat or not.
