I’ve never heard of Wilco before but I’m on board to learn more about this band because this was impressive.

I don’t know a lot of Wilco but this is one of the best songs I’ve ever heard.
Welcome to the genius of Nels Cline
What I have always liked about Wilco is the tension created in the guitar tone and Jeff’s voice. Very unique pairing in the music world.
A new one on me, but I liked what I heard. Definitely laid back with some very good guitar. I particularly liked the guitar harmonies towards the end of the song.
Cheers and stay safe. 😊😎🎸🇺🇦🇬🇧
What a trip of a song. So smooth and slowly at the beginning moving fluidly into a faster intense bloom. Then slowly back into the smooth end. Such a great tune!
Great reaction. Love Wilco, although this might be my favourite song of theirs they have plenty corkers. Ranging from fairly standard alt country to some quite experimental stuff!
Great version of a great song
Never seen the live but I gather they are an awesome experience with an audience. Tweedy is the brain and writer but they all contribute lots. Nels Cline is quite the guitarist, sounds like no one else (the band Television perhaps). They are hard to place genre vise but maybe some form of "americana"-music with ties to jambands, country, pop and rock.
They have made many great albums and they also seem to get better with age. Which is unusual. They are also highly respected by other musicians and bands.
Cheers 🍺
Thanks for the info!
Have seen them live at least 10 times in the last 20 years, twice in 3 weeks last summer. They never fail to be fantastic. The best live show I have ever seen and Nels never plays that solo (which has become a staple of their live set) entirely the same way twice.’he improvises most the in first 4 minutes every night. He’s widely regarded as one of the best avant garde jazz/rock fusion guitarists in the biz.
You should listen to the live version from their Mobile Alabama concert. It is even better than this one. Nels is a little more restrained here. Plus the overall composition of that other live one is tighter and they have a third guitarist to really add more layers to the song that make it a masterpiece.
I thought Nels was a touch off on this, Mobile is better but the 2007 show for TV is the best. WILCO was on fire. One of the best live shows ever !
