    This is clearly a medical condition but also obviously not a fentanyl overdose. Fentanyl is handeled by medical proffesionals in much higher concentrations on the daily. Overdosing from small particles in the air from multiple feet away is impossible. Additionaly, fentanyl doean't constrict your breathing or make it a struggle to breathe. Instead, it makes your body lose the reflex to breathe meaning that he would feel perfectly fine and then simply pass out from hypoxia rather than the whole struggling to breathe thing which is much more likely to happen with a panic attack.

      @Don How many bugs do human beings mistakenly swallow throughout their lifetime? Look up that statistic. The powder was brushed up into the air and while the scenario seems highly unlikely, it isn't actually impossible. Notice how his partner is fine despite being near the car as well. I actually think that this may be an asthma attack that got pinned as fentanyl exposure, but I won't discount the highly unlikely possibility that he ingested particles of it. The main reason it seems doubtful is the sheer amount of narcan he's receiving. He also could have just taken a bunch of the drug off camera to get high, and that may be why he's saying sorry.

      Congrats! I'm really happy for you that your wife decided to help you. I always admire those who beat their addiction. Knowing it's possible to fix your life knowing there's people out there that have done what I thought was impossible gives me hope I will make it through as well. Those who share their experiences don't know how much it helps when you're about to give up, it gives you the strength knowing somone who actully know what it's like to go through this tell you it's possible, it's not the same somone telling you you can do it when they have no idea what it's like, but hearing somone who knows what it's like that helps a lot since you understand it firsthand and made it out gives so much hope. so thanks for sharing.

    I’m a medical professional who deals with opioid overdoses and Narcan/naloxone administration.
    What you see in this video is NOT a real fentanyl overdose. The only way you’d see someone instantly collapse like that would be from an intravenous administration of a high dose of fentanyl.
    The officer would have had to either breathed it in or been exposed transdermally (through the skin) in which case it would still take a fair quantity of the powder to cause such an intense and instantaneous reaction.
    1:59 - 2:03 The officer’s lips aren’t blue. He appears quite well and just lies there with his eyes looking normal too. Nothing like what a fentanyl overdose looks like. The lips would be blue and his facial colour palid. The eyes are often open and the pupils are pinpoints.
    Long and short of it … this video was staged. Or the officer was faking for attention. It seems there was no blood test to check what “drug” he was exposed to. Just wild claims to make people fearful.

      I think that the problem is that (if I understand correctly) the Fentanyl is easier to come by, used to "cut" drugs for a more potent high. (Okay, I doubt I understand it correctly).
      The problem is that when the drug is THAT potent, the amount of precision to make a drug that is recreational and not homicidal is a very fine line.
      Then you have the "war on drugs" which has resulted in doctors unwilling to treat those with chronic unrelieved pain, state and federal laws making it harder and harder for the folks who honestly use pain killers to obtain it, all while not undermining those who seek the drugs out illegally. Eventually it will get to the point where those with honest need are completely stripped of access, forcing them to endure agony, or become another customer to those peddling illegal substances.

    • @jesseponder9130
      @jesseponder9130 2 года назад +2471

      Fentanyl is transdermally active which means it can go through your skin.
      EDIT: Gonna clear up something, in order for fentanyl to be absorbed through skin membranes there has to be a little bit of moisture. This is probably because fentanyl is of the piperidine chemical class and has one amine nitrogen molecule added allowing for easy transmission through the blood brain barrier as well as our skin membranes. The officer most likely touched a large amount and it had moisture with it or his skin oil.
