    ABOUT THIS VIDEO -
Finding the best SSD for a PS5 may appear to be a daunting task due to the numerous options available, but the reality is that there are numerous drives that will provide a simple and hassle-free capacity upgrade for your game library. We ran a slew of the fastest drives through a battery of tests to determine the best SSDs for the PS5 in terms of both performance and price.
The internal SSD on the PS5 is a limited 825GB, with formatting, updates, and bloatware typically leaving about 670GB free for games. That's bad news because today's games are getting bigger with each new release, and you'll also need to save all of the screenshots and video clips you collect while playing. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War alone consumes over 200GB! The good news is that Sony has an M.2 expansion slot where you can install a second, PS5 SSD with a capacity of up to 4TB.

980 Pro Heatsink 2tb was 159 on flash sell from the egg. Ps5 registered it as 6500 read speeds, which is a bit slower than advertised but still above requirements. Honestly I just needed a larger storage for all the ps5 games you get from PS+. Left the main two or three I play on system storage and offloaded the rest and new ones to PCIE storage. PS4 to external. Should last a while but the game sizes are getting a bit ridiculous.

@henrydauseb2844 A heat sink dissipates heat away from a component, preventing it from overheating. Personally I would recommend the 1tb, but the choice is yours. I saw the WD_Black 5TB for under $150, wondering if I should’ve gotten it over the 1TB Seagate. I’m new to PS5 and was under the impression that if it wasn’t the right one, that it would only store PS4 games and under vs PS5 games. Can someone respond and lmk, I’ll return it and get the 5TB

5tb pcl gen 4 for under 150? While the 4tb still sits at around 500? Kinda sus, plus the ps5 cant hold more then 4tb for it is its max capacity atm so don’t even bother anything thats higer then 4tb for it simply wont work

The 'need for cooling' is overblown.

SMH...After spending all that money on a PS5, games AND an SSD storage upgrade, are you REALLY gonna get cheap over a piece of tech that costs $11 - $15 that will prevent your SSD from breaking after a couple/few years? That's like getting all kinds of sports equipment and clothing and then skipping out on water cuz "the 'need for cooling' is overblown"!
