I got the Firecuda 530 with 4 TB back then when that was the maximum! It’s pretty cool to keep all the downloaded games and never delete them.

Excellent video. Thanks for all the hard work. 8 TB is total OVERKILL for most people. It was insane listening to the install list if games and naviging the menu - too much.. I have a 4TB Addlink A95 and love it. Wish Playstation would let you store video on the SSD. Thanks again for making the video.

Honestly the best way to go about this is to get a 2 or 5tb hdd and a 4tb ssd.
That gives you all the storage you need for ps4 and ps5 games

See I would agree that 2TB would seem like a fair middle ground option but given how big a lot of games are getting I would argue 4TB is probably a much better option given that it's now far more affordable than it was ten years ago where as 8TB we're seeing the prices that 4TB drives were sitting at before.
SSDs are way to expensive right now for this to make sense unfortunately. Id get a 2tb ssd if it was 100usd in my country
Yeah I'll buy a Xbox One series X with the cost of a 4TB SSD... We'll go after one. A 4TB SSD is around $350. Save another $100-150 for a Xbox (I've seen it for $450 for a while )
I have the addlink 4TB in mine, 71 games installed although probably half are ps4, and I’ve kept my ps5 main memory totally empty

As far as it goes for me because the 8 TB SSD is $600 more than the 4 TB SSD with the Addlink brand on Amazon, I’m considering getting the latter unless the former goes down SIGNIFICANTLY either on sale or permanently.
As someone who will install as many of my PS4 games as possible but also WILL want to have LOADS of saved footage (I have nearly 3 TB worth across 2 different external hard drives from my PS4, which I installed a 2 TB HDD on when I got it on Christmas 2015), the 8 TB is definitely tempting, but I REALLY need to budget better.
If only there was a 6 TB option 😭 Though the near 1 TB of storage you get with the PS5 Slim should help a ton! Especially for saved data & saved footage (which I assume you can can have the saved data of a game on one hard drive with the game itself installed on the other)!
Yea slim storage is the main advantage over OG, I think 2TB is enough for most.

2tb is also the sweet spot for me , the price dropped for the ps5 slim to 449 at Walmart so I finally bought one , I won't be buying a ps5 pro anytime soon , you can't kill the ps4 so I have both now , Sony makes the best consoles, period

Yeah 2TB is fine for me. I'm not spending $400 or $900 USD on a SSD for a console . I'll rather put it in my PC. I also rather buy a Xbox One series X with that cost.

How much space does save file occupy for one game on average???
It’s different for every game. But I had save files for all the main popular games as I played all those - which took about 15 to 25 GB

Depends a lot on the game. You can get games as small as 500MB with indie games like Stardew Valley, whereas you can download games like Final Fantasy Rebirth for a whopping 150GB. The average game nowadays is around 80GB.

if you have a (very) good internet, 1 TB is more than enough. More than 2TB, you just a hoarder. You wont play them all
i typically just play one game daily and juggling between 3-4 games. And it could last for months or i get bored, delete it and download another games
2tb is sweet spot. With the remaining money you can buy a Series X or Nintendo Switch Oled. Or Steam Deck 😊

@@them2wheels116 the lifespan is actually why I got extra storage since you basically never have to delete anything nothing is going to die I also notice my ps5 seems to run a bit smoother since nothing has to be on the internal drive outside of save data. Stuck with a 4tb for now but will eventually get an 8tb to ensure I can have every game I have there

I’m sorry but this video seems like the worst way you could’ve planned this out. Why spend 10 minutes reading off a list of random game titles? How is that information beneficial to viewers? Just tell us how many games you downloaded on each drive and then calculate the average size of each game. That will give us a better idea of how many games each drive can store.
And why did you spend so much time and money renting/buying random games? Why not just subscribe to PS Plus Extra/Premium for one month and download all those games? Way cheaper and more convenient.
And why did you download the games for every SSD? Why not just download on the 8TB drive first and copy/transfer games to the other SSDs as necessary? Transferring data between two high speed SSDs will always be faster than downloading from servers. Or better yet just buy one 8TB drive and fill it up to the 1, 2, 4, and 8TB marks. No need to buy 4 separate SSDs

In my case, I would go physical copy for PS5 exclusives to save spaces.
Went digital on a game that released on both PS4 and PS5 since most game offers you for copy for both, a sweet deal if you have both PS4 & PS5.
But in the mean time, I'll go full physical copy after PS4 era is over.
