It's actually strange not to see Luke and Ash in the crowd with the family cheering along. They are all so supportive of each other. He did an amazing job!

When I saw Nile do that extravagant side jump on his own. I was amazed. It’s so scary to just ice skate and keep balance. I took an adult figure skating class and I absolutely wish I could skate with confidence like Olivia but she puts in the work! 🎉
Note: thanks for those giving me the proper names for the moves/dances they were doing. My figure skating vocab is very small lol. But I just signed up for basic3 skating classes lol.
Honestly, even more than the butterfly, his crossovers were excellent. I'd expect a gymnast to do a dynamic jump, especially since it wasn't perfectly landed, but he's clearly worked on his basics. And so was the couples spin, those aren't easy to do, much less in a camel position.
he is practicing an axel jump and I am sure he'll make it :D

He's showing that he is not and will not be defined by one thing alone. And what a great pairing to have Liv by his side, showing him the ropes of her sport! Can't wait to watch weekly. Makes me want to cry knowing the feeling of feeling lost after athletic retirement and the amount of effort Nile puts into everything. I can tell how much work he's putting into this with Liv. After learning who Nile is and more about his life and what he does over the last year and a half and watching his documentary a little while ago I have so much respect for him and know he's come so far!

Calling it now, he's going to win. They had the beginnings of a good partnership already there, and she showcased him really well. Nice back story, good looking guy, sporty and fit with tons of potential ! No idea who he was before seeing this performance by chance, but he certainly impressed me.

I didn't know this was a thing until I saw Nile mention it in a video yesterday...WOW. I loved seeing Nile's face after that jump. He was so pleased that he had put it all in and done really well too. What a good feeling, he can feel so strong about what he's doing.

I’m honestly so shocked (in a good way) that he pulled out a BUTTERFLY in the first week. That is one of the hardest things to do, I’ve tried and failed many time

What an achievement Nile, ice skating is not easy!
Even though Nile is a gymnastic Olympian, skating is a much different sport and my expectations were pretty low for his first outing. Was I wrong! As I watched this I could hear myself going "WOW" over and over again. Great start for Olivia & Nile 👍

Rhythmic gymnastics and ballet are perfect to take alongside skating. You get the control, bodily awareness, strength, flexibility, arm carriage, turnout etc

well, I havent watched this show before but aerials are not allowed in figure skating. I dont know if the show will follow that rule
Backflips are quite advanced on ice, and very dangerous. I doubt they would allow it.
@@walover165 Perri (Diversity) did an unassisted backflip 3 years ago, but it was in the final and he is a professional dancer. It's on RUclips so have a look.
