If it still cannot meet the Displacement you can Upgrade to a bigger Hull ( if lucky ) or downgrade to smaller Hull ( if unlucky ) to meet the requirement ( Example: You get the Super Battleship 2 but 70.000 Tonnes Displacement you can Roll again but if you get 70.000 Tonnes again you have to downgrade to any Hull which is able to achieve 70.000 Tonnes. )

All i can say:
I heard 15 guns firing every 15 seconds, my brain immediately said “ripple-fire the guns on a 1-second interval. On full broadside, firing each gun exactly one second after the previous gun, it results in the 1st gun ending its reload when the 15th gun fires, allowing for a constant barrage of fire.”

Wow that was quick... my enemy BB refused to succumb to the fire spam for so long!
Pro Tip: Turbo-electric drive is for slow ships. You get increased maneuverability in a low-horsepower ship.
It also boosts survivability somewhat.
Really good in long campaign as well if you havent unlocked fuel oil to keep your smoke interference down, I basically use only those once I get them the other buffs it gives are nice and the ability to throw it in full reverse without breaking your engine.

A French construction purchased by Japan that only goes 18 knots? Both nations design schools are dying inside.
However it was build by Germans and Russians, so it makes sense.

Stealth, for the first time in ages, you won today's Taskmaster challenge!
After that other challenge with the destroyers, I fully expected you to go for setting all the fires, and I wasn't disappointed.
Brother Munro rolled 4 heavy cruisers without torpedoes and a max speed of 48 knots - so he settled for using the cruisers as torpedoes to repeatedly ram the BB until it flooded and sank.
That "Wha?!" when the BB sunk. This was great. Talk about a great Bombardment ship. xD

I did this with some brit bbs and actually set so many fires on a enemy vessel that it "sunk" due to extensive fire yet it had over half of structural left and like to flooding damage.
Meanwhile: The enemy battleship commander, on the comms as his blazing ship sinks around him just hears the gleeful gruff cheers of thousands of proud 40k Orks reveling in the sheer majestic dakka.
I think the YES on torpedo choice meant as much as possible
Excellent idea! This will defiantly make or break your build. Very entertaining! What would also be cool is if you had two extra wheels with one for your year that you can make a ship and one for them. Then the one that's yours you can make the later years smaller and the earlier years larger and visa versa for the enemy. That why there's higher chance of you having older ships and enemy having newer. It would be pretty interesting as well.
To be fair, the enemy could’ve had minimum bulkheads and upgrades,
along with cramped quarters.
Though... HE is still OP.

Video idea. Year 1940. battle station not a ship. biggest battleship you can get slow as it can physically go everything else goes in weapons and armour. Enemy options you pick one option
1. 3 battleship
2. 4 battle cruiser
3. 5 heavy cruiser
4. 7 light cruisers
5. 10 destroys
Torpedos yes might've meant as many torps as possible. But I think your interpretation is valid. A more open category on those wheels isn't too bad I think. Not the whole wheel but a chance to get "big guns" "small guns" in between the exact inches. Speaking of guns, how about a ship with shorter barrels for a change?

I do not play the game but I decided to try my luck at the the wheel of fortune with the links that you provided. It seems like fun but since I could not spin for ship type, I went with the Heavy Cruiser like you did. Unfortunately, I think I got worse luck than you.
I got advanced armored cruiser 2 hull, 14,900 tons displacement, 48 knots, single 7-inch barrel primary armament, 4-inch secondary, torpedoes 2x1 deck launcher, 18-inch torpedoes.
Not sure it is possible to pull off an effective design that can do this. The main gun type is not that big so I would have to lengthen the barrel to increase range. That speed with that displacement may require that I go very light in some areas. I would have preferred no torpedoes as I will never use them against a BB in the game's current build and double 18-inch torpedo launcher is something I am not a fan of.
You should add a wheel where it decides ammunition you have to use and size of shell

incendiary 8'' should only damage superstructure and not penetrate at all. But ingame logic acting like that shells somehow starts fire inside of compartments which is behind the belt armor. it is clear even one CA could sink that ship.

I tried this myself. 49 Kn BC at 45000 Ton I had to use the Gas turbine and change the hull shape to get it to be under weight and a nice price tag of 1 300 000 000, with only one ship with 15inch guns. Tock me an hour to poke the brick the AI sent at me.
I'm sorry I was so happy with 18 knots because I knew it meant we get a big boy ship not a speedboat
They almost did not miss any shots, lol. With gunnery like this CVs would have taken a little longer to replace the big gunships.

man I decided to try this myself... 1 destroyer 39 knots single barrel 2in guns... i did get a decent torpedo roll (2 4x launchers with 23 inch torps) but the enemy battle ship had anti torp 5....oof
got it to about 1/3 thanks to a flash fire but oof that was hard

Idea for taskmaster:
your country has lost the ability to produce AP shells, as well as the ability to build ships.
the only ship that you have is 1 battleship, the "pride of the nation" wich you have to switch to HE at the start of the battle. no torpedos.
the size of the enemy fleet can be freely chosen, points are given for every unit sunk.

Task master challenge:
Your ship is to be the Dead man's hand A battleship or battle cruiser with 15 inch triple barreled main armament with 8 inch double barreled secondaries country of your choice with 1930's tech.
Your opponent will be 5 destroyers, and 1 of each other ship type from the Chinese navy with 1935 tech.
The scroing: 5 pts for the battleship, 4pts for the battlecruiser, 3 for the heavy, 2 for the light, and 1 for each of the destroyers. Negative points for each ship left standing except the destroyers which don't reduce points. Fastest time wins.
The twist: 5pts additional if you are sunk by a torpedo.

HE spam is a problem, but not because of HE dmg and fires. This BB got hit by almost 700 8,9" rounds in like 12 minutes, it's like getting something like 150kg round every 2 seconds. It should get burned or it's crew should be obliterated.
Problem is guns can be ridiculous accurate in this version of game and because of that ships can get this crazy amount of hits from smaller guns (your ships had 45% avg accuracy by whole scenario). I think you mentioned about that +20% gun length is now must have, accuracy bonus is crazy effective.
Second problem is AP damage. Proper penetration from high caliber gun should result devastating damage, even over pens should result more damage.
You're ship was supposed to be 19500 tons, but it was only 19497. Violated the challenge.

Bruh 13,440 rounds between all 4 ships is rookie numbers bump it up 😆 🤣 😆, also in my opinion should always split ships into at least 2 Divisions, in this case 2x2 formation, take both sides, this is something that is not done very often in game but more common irl, or used to be

They shpuld add some sort of fire/damage saturation mechanic, also setting fire to the citadel spaces should be a lot harder when you do not penetrate the armor....

I swear youtubers that play games purposely make it so I know I can do better just to annoy me in such a way that I want to buy the game to prove it. Problem is after I buy the game and prove it to myself I stop playing the game, and I really don't get any enjoyment out of the game. Please go back and reverse the three aft guns are on the deck so that you only need 1 barbette. It will save space and weight.
