  • Testing out some self made Tiffen Black Pro Mist alternatives. These diy filters provided some really interesting results with only a fraction of the cost of an original Tiffen one. These filters were very easy and quick to make and I only used some common household items to make these so you can easily make one for yourself to try out.

I'm interested in this filter just lately, and after checking it in the online market, I decided just to make it my own, and then found your video, nice lifehack 😆👍🏻

Not bad at all for 10 bucks. Looks VERY close if you just need a similar look on a budget.

Yes indeed! The end result was surprisingly good. If you’re fine with self-made filter this one is a proper option.

If he didn't have huge specs of black it would look even better. Sprayed UV filters is all Pro-Mist is, anyway.

BPM does not soften the whole image. It brings up darks. Same for Hollywood black magic, but opposite. Last one works only with hilights. Spraying or stockings affects the whole image. Thats why filters are so much expensive and used in professional filmmaking

one question, would it make any difference if the pain is not black but another colour? I'm assuming it might not make any difference, but curious if anyone tried. I have some matte green paint laying around that I used repair a spot in my Jeep :D

Hmmm, I bet it's going to work as well as black paint but it might give the photos some green tint maybe in the highlights or shadows or the whole photo?? who knows.. .:D if you're up for an experiment then I'd say go for it and please share the results, I'm interested.
