Wow, this is a very useful filter for shooting portraits in mid-day sun. With backlight portraits, I prefer the black mist over the white mist because you still retain some contrast. However, when you are not shooting with sun behind you, you really see that the white-mist creates an effect that is difficult to replicate in post.

Thank you so so much for this video! It helped me decide that I am personally looking for the result that the white mist filter gives. I was about to buy a Tiffen black pro mist filter, but thanks to you I found what I actually need☺️ Good work!

Nice video. The white mist filter creates a very similar image to a vintage lens with fungus on the elements. You get a really dreamy halation. I was really interesting to see that in the backlit photos that the white mist filter produced better blacks. I wasn't expecting that.

There's special Shabu Shabu edition. There's special coating made of Shabu Shabu broth. Gives amazing effects.

They all look gorgeous. Just personal preference clearly. Ive gone for a cheap 1/8 white mist filter picked up off amazon on offer from another brand to protect my lens rather than using a uv filter.

What are your thoughts on Tiffen Glimmerglass or its NiSi equivalent? I read that it retains more contrast, and doesn't lift the blacks/shadows, and adds haze without excessive blooming.

using the white mist filter is a good way to shoot flashback scenes or any interlude in a movie

Have you any experience using the glimmer glass from tiffen? If so how would you compare it to these, I really love mine but sometimes you lose too much contrast near edges of skin and it creates aberrations in harsh light

Many thanks for sharing this video, very educational as I am about to try a white mist filter on an old Helios lens to see what results I can get😅
I have a question, the colours seemed pretty saturated was that a in camera effect, or did you do post processing?
    Thanks!

Oh man so nice! Thanks so much for the demo! I do landscape photography and have the black mist filter which seems to lower the contrast a lot and add a lot of haze. I don’t have the white mist filter which appears to add more drama and contrast! Now I have to decide on the strength 1/4 vs 1/2 🤔
    Cheers from Seattle!

@@MagicWeddingPhotographer I was in the Henry days. I can’t hate on the team, they are winning with class.
I will say Arteta is my favorite premier league coach. (I can’t claim fan as that would just be bandwagon at this point)
However most the footballers I am friends with, ARE huge arsenal fans.
I feel they may drop the league; the upcoming game vrs city will be crucial in the title race.
I definitely don’t want to see city lift the title, but it is a possibility.

Haha, only 6 seconds into the video I’m going YUCK seeing the white mist filter. That’s the look crap photographers do, thinking they’re cool when they duplicate the main image layer, then put gaussian blur on it and blend it with the original layer.
