    The ##10 series John Deere tractors were a game changer when they came on the market. In South Texas where I grew up, Farmall tractors ruled the market for years. People didn't like the hand clutch on the two-cylinder John Deere tractors, but then the 10 series diesels came out, and South Texas became John Deere territory.

    After a little cough and a fart it just "ran like a Deere"! Motor sounds really good and it pulls that implement so easily; another great find. After watching some of your countrymen prep for seeding earlier this year with their new debt machines (IVTs, electronics and solenoids for everything) I'm sure a few of then still waiting for service calls might feel a bit jealous. I've got a 3020 gas JD that sat for 15 years and my neighbor called me and needed a tractor as his smaller diesel was not in service at the time and asked to borrow our 3020 (if we still had it) well....I told him I drained the gas and changed the oil before I put it away 15 years prior and forgot about it. He showed up with 10 or 20 gallons of gas and a new battery. It started quick and used it for 2 weeks without one single issue, well, he did remind me that it does go through quite a bit of gas - ha ha ha. Yup, that it does! Not bragging on John Deere.....I'm just say'n!

To me oil, temp and fuel matters the most i ran out of fuel 2 times in the middle of the road on my way home because the fuel gauge was not working after finding out why it didn't work which is because the connections for the wires on the sender unit was all rusted away after replacing the unit it worked a lot better tachometer depends on, i mean sure it is important to know the engine rpms yes but when you want to set the rpms for the pto speed you need it to work well, i replaced the cable on monday since it was vibrating every rev and causing the needle to jump all over the place, the tractor i did all this work is a 1985 Case 1294 😁

      the 60s and 70s operators manuals showed washing your paper filters in the sink! and warned you about "do not bang on a tire." Recently, a social media video short showed using a firecracker... :)

    Sounds good pulling the discs. Are those discs a set of Allis Chalmers 2300 series? Sure look like it.

      Yes it is. It’s not a great disc, and seems like parts are non existent for it but with a little engineering I’ve made it work-minus the strip it leaves lol. But it was 0 dollars sitting in the weeds 😉

    Shit. I've been cleaning air filters wrong my whole life then. Bang em til they clean out lol. They make a filter cleaning setup that spins around when you put it inside an air filter.

    How come that disc leaves the strip in the middle is it missing a blade in the middle or something out of alignment tractor sounds great thanks for sharing

      It needs to have the front blades pushed a little closer together. I pieced that disc from a couple of doners. It’s not great but it’ll chop stuff up 😉

    Hi J.t. she pulled fairly well. Can't remember did try the 165 on the discs. And did see in this video the disc were missing a strip. Did you brake something on there. Great video as normal from Andy in uk.

      That disc needs the gangs pushed together a smidge. I pieced that together from a couple doner machines

      O ok well works well anuf. Is that why one wing takes bit longer to come up. You still look for tractors or just see what falls your way. Is there any tractor out there you really want to get your hands on.

      There’s a few. Id like a 2805 MF, a 1000 Minnie mo , maybe a 2255 Oliver.. the hard ones to find 😉

      @jtsbarnngrill6873 well that's good least you got something to keep you really looking out for. Well I hope you find them and good luck. All I can say is try keep what you really want to keep. Because they are a very good investment better than a bank. They all just going through the roof. And it's not going too stop just yet. There's more people out there now trying to do what your doing get off the grid and they are looking for the smaller tractors and the farmers are looking for the bigger one. So your do great. Great job. Hope the luck keeps coming your way.

    Not sure if you can do a spin on filter conversion on those engines or not. Guess it isn't too bad having to change it like it is. It ain't like you are doing it very often. That tractor will pull that harrow in 5 or 6 gear...

    • @jtsbarnngrill6873
      @jtsbarnngrill6873  11 месяцев назад

      Yeah, that wasn’t bad at all. I think she’d pull in 5 or 6 th pretty well!
