What ya'll do with a tinnitus cab is they make a special lead lined foam and aluminum foil cover blanket and the sound drops 50%. The whole cab needs treated with this covering for heat and sound.
I remember ax a kid going up to Iowa to visit family, and playing on the tractors, getting to go out in the field during harvest in JD 8820 combine, he also had a JD 8360, and 4755, and a Massey Fergusson 4880. Then later in the 80's they upgraded to the 9400. I was just absolutely in awe and thought it was the coolest thing ever and still do. That started my love for farm tractors and farm equipment. Farming would be so much fun snd cool.
Drove a 5010 tractor with an Egging cab that had side windows same as front window.Had the same bend in the shift lever so you don’t hit your had on the windshield frame. Drove it for a farmer in 1970 then bought it in 1974 when I went farming in 74 . Traded it in 1977 for new 4630
You are a man after my own heart. Back in the day when working for farmers up here in sask canada, i ran a 5010 jd many years pulling a cultivator and double disk plow. I broke hundreds of acers of vergin prarie over the years. Worst part was pickin all the rocks after. Now at 72..retired . I bought my own mf 1505 i use to plow the snow
I also have restored old tractors in spair time 2 wd6s 2 wd9s..even a td6 crawler. Plus many others. Keep up the good work. Also made my own little tractor outta a putt putt eng.
My first tractor was a 5020 row crop standard. At the time dad's power tractor was a 5020 wheat land special. His cab was a lot like the cab on your 5010 wheat land special. The Windows that hinge in the back catch lots of air. If you get rained out , that cab's nice to ride home in.
Hi friend you know your stuff when it comes to old tractors first class your green monster turned out no bad after a good wash. Please keep the great videos coming friend from Scotland 😊🎉🎉
JT, you do whatever you need to do in order to make things happen. In now times and days, no one is going to frown upon you for revamping things. You have an awesome channel and put out great content.
Ok this one might need a little paint. The cab kinda grows on ya-at least it’s handy for getting in and out in tight spaces. Keep an eye out for used scaffolding on MP. I see it for reasonable prices all the time. A couple of sections bolted together, add some pneumatic tires and roll it out to pressure wash tractors or get up around the high spots on your combine. Roll it back alongside the barn when you’re not using it. I’ve even seen guys bolt them to old running gear or hay racks so the can tow them where they need it. Yup, you can even use them for what they were intended…working on the side of a building. 😂 Can’t wait to see this one doing field work. 👍🏻

You’re going to need to buy some more ground to farm with all these beasts! Neighbors had a 5020 stock with factory cab, and a 5020 with a Cozy Cab that had a 7520 head, pump, turbo and intercooler on it. That one was a monster. Had 30.5x32’s on it.
So I know it's just my paranoia, but I'd run the 1-Wire through a CAT oil pressure switch. Not hooked to anything unless the engine is running. The CAT switch can handle 60 or 70 amps OK, so no big deal. Peace of mind if the alternator starts to leak internally, etc. Other than that, you are right on target. Re-wire that beast and add more light. LED bar lights high up. No draw to speak of, but plenty of light for early morning, evening and night work 😁

An extra wire here or there, fer stereo and power booster, and maybe interior lighting, mood or other, and some decent power for some good to better quality fender lights, a new plug and play fuse panel, and yer done.
