    That's awesome. Something about a family tractor makes it special. Bet your uncle was there the whole time with you smiling. Way to make him proud. Don't worry it will play just fine with your Masseys.

    Tractors Back Then were made so you can work on them so simple but yet they got the job done nowadays you have to have a college education to start one I work for a John Deere dealership and the way things are made nowadays this is a throwaway world that is unfortunate that's why I love the older machines I love the passion you have for these older tractors and forgive me for the talk and text

    12 minutes in and I am too excited about commenting and reading other replies so hope I am not too off base. What you have there for ignition is actually a magneto! The internal coil has been bypassed and it is now functionally a conventional distributor. The ihc circle logo you see is likely original or 1st tuneup in the 50s as the tractor man HiH logo was released post ww2, before 1950. Mags are cool but suck to tune up, the points are only accessible with surgical disassembly. The model of mag is H4. Mags in the tractor world also only run at full advance above starting rpms. Plenty of Delco and IH distributors out there to convert to for your convenience. Also FYI the fast hitch for a super c will bolt up (probably 200 and 230 too). Alas, One of the leveling components won't be quite right but our C (drum brakes) had a fast hitch since it came to our farm in the 50s/60s and it worked fine. Warning, if you get stuck, don't pull from the front bolster--our C died when the 100 horse tractor pulled it out of the mud, engine block ears sheared right off. The "12 ton" loaded silage box behind the C didn't help either 😊

    • @jtsbarnngrill6873
      @jtsbarnngrill6873  Год назад +2

      Thank you for the info! I’m not a fan of the mag either, but I figure until it goes kaput I’ll leave it alone for now 😉. I figured the logo on the rotor had to be old, quite interesting to know that it could be an original! Thank you for commenting!

You have a family heirloom there! I have four old Farmalls from '49-'57 and find great joy in keeping them going! GOOD JOB! as usual!

    Nice job getting it back running! I was really surprised to hear that there was no rust in that tank. Even more so after seeing the rust on those valves. A little more tinkering and you will have a nice tractor for the yard. I have several old ones here also that haven't run in many years. Watching your video makes me want to put aside everything and drag them into the shop, get them running.

    Wow JT that brought back some memories. I remember an old International parked up behind some hay in the barn at home in the 60s, that my Grandad bought during ww2. It was the second one he ordered to come from the US, the first didn’t make of the ship as it got bomb by the Germans in Liverpool Docks. Really enjoyed the Vid can’t wait for the next. Thanks 🇺🇸🇬🇧👍
