These tractors are very good, IH made very good machines, nothing to do with the new ones, they are more complicated and expensive, I'll stick with the old ones and easy maintenance. Greetings.
I have a 1466 it's a mess of problems but it's a very good running and pulling machine doesn't lug down lots of torque. Fix what's wrong and it's a good machine easy to fix.

We had the exact same 1066 on our dairy farm growing up in Westernnew york, brings up great memories thanks guys for great videos and that white stripe IH would be 1971 to 76 😊

Hello Wily. I always remembered when I do the weather spotters training from the NWS that lightning strikes can occur as far as 10 miles away from a storm cell. I can remember back in the early 1980s that a teenager was killed by a lightning strike in which the sun was shining and the weather was not threatening in any way. On a brighter note; Those IH tractors were purely workhorses and really hard to beat.
The 1066 was rated at 115 PTO HP in 1972, & midway through 1973. In sept, 1973 the 1066 was rated at 125 PTO HP. The 1486 was rated at 145 PTO HP. The 1066 had a 414 ci engine, & the 1486 had a 436 ci engine.
That float as you call it Wiley that makes the oil is called the( fluggandodger float) learned that one from a guy in Birmingham a long time ago! is that hammer you used to adjust the starter a farmall brand starter 5 thousands Adjustment hammer she jumped back to life like a great tractor always does ? Have a wonderful day brother you earned it!.
Amazing, one thing I have noted in the west is that you just abandon machine and move to the next generation or level, mostly they don't have serious mechanical issues, love the video
not sure if its the same in U.S Will, but here in Scotland there was water aded to the main tyres to lower the centre of gravitey or mabye traction , mabye somebody else can add more info
All the people in this world that would like to start farmimg or logging that cant afford to get started and all this equipment just sitting around that people dont use but most of it belongs to very rich people and they would rather it rot away than to start someone off logging or farming

Love red tractors. Working I n a 460 now. The 1066 was a beast in its day and many are still doing valuable work on the farms of America.

The 86 series are successors to 66 series tractors, there are significant power differences in each model by category

1066 120 hp ish . The 1486 u mentioned is the series after the 66 series and is around 140 give or take .
