To target the chain that heals the end, do a couple normal attacks and then side step and it will target it.
Thank you the game is VERY unclear about that.
It could be like Overload Champion when you try to break this chain to heal the boss.

I discovered that purely on accident because I thought it had to do with the extra animation using cyloop which after blocking the laser gives you time to fight uninterrupted (by the ring draining orbs)
I love how fucking silenty cocky Sonic is in this new form. Just no words but you know he's telling you skill issue

That's why 06, Black Knight, Unleashed and Secret rings cgi worked so well.
I really hope this transformation comes back in later games. It’s so good. I really hope SEGA doesn’t go back to making just basic sonic games again like they did before frontiers. The game had issues but it tried something new and that’s what I love so much about it.

I feel like I need to take a moment and just say: Sonic the Hedgehog, in a Super mode that is essentially Super Saiyan 2, combined with the movements of Ultra Instinct, pulled an Akuma-style Raging Demon on the physical vessel of the **concept of death itself**
I'm just going to admire that sentence for a while.
Whoever came up with that idea needs a raise and a vacation. Too bad such power will be locked to only this game... but I suppose we can't have him TOO broken.
This just makes me wonder why people compare UI to simply just dodging or countering an attack, maybe it just really is such a bad ass form that people feel the need to acknowledge how cool it is.

@@Fate263 I'm kinda afraid of how they will handle super sonic transformations in future 3D games, because here they imply that he can no longer transform into Super Sonic 2. So if they go back to just use regular Super Sonic, none of whatever final bosses comes next will feel as dangerous anymore since none of them will have pushed Super Sonic as much as The End did that he needed to go beyond.

Well, in the original ending we aready knew that Sage was alive somehow(maybe inside that cyber world) but it's wholesome to see a proper interaction between then instead of just Eggman grieving.

Sonic staying true to his hero persona, getting knocked out of "Super Sonic 2" back into normal Super Sonic, and back into base, only for him to fully powerup again after almost losing all his rings.

15:16 I'm so happy they brought back the quick "I'm Here" in major key. It was only used once, on Rhea Island. The triumphant sounding rendition of a song is something I've loved in video games since Ace Attorney: Justice For All, and I really wish more games would do this.
Fr. I'm a sucker for different arrangements of character and main themes adjusted for mood, especially when they cap off a climactic moment with the "biggest" version thereof. Makes for truly epic moments when that quiet theme that's slowly been building finally reaches its full potential. Good shit

This has to be one of the only enemies to push sonic to his limit. Not even solaris knocked sonic out of his super form. Let me repeat that. Not even SOLARIS the omnipotent being could not knock sonic out of his super form.
Well, this is the literal death of the universe they were fighting, and plus Solaris was fighting 3 hedgehogs in Super Transformation, although I bet even then the End could beat 3 super people out of super mode…

but shadow did go all out and took his inhibitor rings off i think, which lead to him reaching unprecedented levels that even sonic cannot achieve, after all, Gerald did create him with limitless power and potential, he is the ultimate lifeform for a reason, he could even surpass sonic in speed at full power.
@veterantheshadehowler5940 yes! And because he used so much of his chaos energy (I imagine Sonic was almost out of rings so Shadow pushed him away while giving him his inhibitor rings) he lost his memories. (Confirmed in ShTH that eggman saved Shadow via a robot before he fell from orbit btw)
13:52 it's kinda blink long enough and you'll miss it, but it seems he achieves a whole different form as well, from all the energy he takes in to become the bullet, at 13:52, if you look at his eyes you'll see he enters a cyber enhanced form that is scary identical to fleetway sonic.

Poor supreme. the next minute before Sonic crashes into the end, note that Max Cyber Super sonic just VAPORIZES supreme on impact. Like, he goes from Titan to explosion in 1 frame, and the brightest part of the explosion lasts 4 frame total. it happened so fast I didn't even register where Supreme went for the first few watches.

The super cyber sonic transformation is so cool to me with the glitch sound effects. The fact too in the end super sonic gets hurt just shows how big of a threat the end truly was (or it could be just he was worn down)
I don't think him being hurt was The End's fault. Preeeeetty sure Sonic almost killed himself focusing that much power. To the point that it overloaded his Super Form. You could see it in the cannon when he was powering up. Nothing about that charge up looked like a pleasant experience.
@@KorgCrimsonyes, I think it's more accurate to say that The End is incredibly dangerous, since Super Sonic had to suffer to destroy his Supreme form and his moon form.

I love that you can tell how far you are in Eggman's 'You must die' list by how long he doesn't shoot you. Eggman has a lot of kill shots that would, at worst, CRIPPLE The End while rendering it unable to strike back for a while as it put itself back together in CyberSpace. Meanwhile, he (And likely Tails) would have found a way to free themselves from the islands and basically render CyberSpace Null.
But no, he waited for a KILL shot to destroy both The Sovereign, but also The End. Even Sonic isn't that far on the 'You must die' list, and he's been stopping Eggman like it's his job or something.
Because that was not Dr. Eggman, the mad scientist, that was Dr. Robotnik, a father protecting his daughter from harm
Sage surviving is allot better than her sacrificing herself I love it and it’s nice to see egg man happy

One thing that bothers me is that, prior to this game, Eggman has been established as extremely evil, committing atrocities such as stuffing defenseless animals into mechs, splitting the world into pieces, enslaving a bunch of aliens, fucking up the space-time continuum to try to kill Sonic, etc.

Holy crap! That was shounen as hell! I can't say I'm a fan of the Sonic games since Sonic Unleashed, but wow, the action sequences are some of the most exciting set peices I've watched ever. I love that Super Sonic doesn't make any witty remarks since he recognizes how dangerous the situation has become and that he's solely focusing on destroying his target. I really enjoyed how his power-up made him even more disrespectful. I can see why people enjoyed this game's Sonic and story. Thank you for uploading!

Even after a complete reworking of the ending... they still left Big in Cyberspace.
Actually a conversation between Sonic and Sage reveals that it's not actually Big in the Purple Portals, but rather a recreation of Big from Sonic's memories, just like how the cyberspace levels are an approximate recreation of locations Sonic has visited.
That implies Big didn't just wander there by himself, and that he can't wander out the same way
(yea I know the real canon, but it's more fun to think of Big as this casual dimension walker, in search of nothing but fish).

Nah man, that stuff with the chain just pissed me off so much that I just didn’t like it. It should’ve been you parry the orbs to do it since that’s the whole mechanic of the new super sonic but instead It’s something that isn’t even hinted at.
Plus I had max stats so it’s incredibly easy but with the new star fall events giving so many items there should’ve been one last phase 3 that was much harder
I will say though I love when sonic bosses are cinematic like this

man, this boss is very easy, there's no secret, you just have to dodge to attack the purple rope, besides it has an incredible atmosphere and great music, so he's the best, yes, you just have to know what he does
Literally DBZ x Sonic, I LOVE ITTT. Every animation is so incredibly hype. All the poses Sonic makes, the new attacks, the beautiful aura...very SSJ4 Gogeta esque. I pray Sonic Team continue with this going forward
The Super Sonic form itself was based on Super Saiyan. Just this game takes it a step further with a Sonic’s version of Super Saiyan 2 (with lightning and all)

I’m not joking when I say (and I’ve played every Sonic game ever made), that this version of “The End” is without a question, the most difficult boss in the 3-D era…. Possibly the hardest Sonic boss of all time PERIOD.

@@SonnyFRSTI don't think there's any jumping the gun happening here. There's only the occasional cylooping them and firing hedgehogs out of them.
The hardest part for me was the 5th trial I spent 4 hours trying to finally beat i managed in the end, even on easy mode 🤣 skill issue I know but still you are limited to 400 rings to beat gigantic, wyvern and knight and you do little damage

That would be something you’d have to parry the shadow projectiles or completely avoid it by quick cylooping Supreme to prevent him from unleashing the projectiles.
You don't. It only appears if you've gotten hit by too many laser orbs.
I'm kinda sad they went with a different atmosphere for this version of The End, but for what it's worth they did a great job. I'm especially glad they actually made The End out to be a genuine threat. Neither 4 Titans or Super Sonic are a match for this thing, so even with this new form Sonic is bound to have a hard time (to be fair to the og they do imply that version of The End isn't at full power). I love how they make the entire first phase feel completely hopeless until you finally figure out what to do (even if it could've been conveyed a lot better), then make sure to show in the second phase that it really takes everything we can give to take it down for good.
