The star wars prequels is one example of listening to fans not always working, George Lucas ended up completely changing the story after the phantom menace due to the hate and several actors, including hayden Christensen and even Ewan McGregor, ended up suffering due to star wars, despite the prequels not even being half bad and people are starting to recognize it in todays age. Its never black and white.

didnt play any sonic games as a kid, but recently stumbled across a video explaining shadows backstory. gotta say it's DARK for a franchise mostly aimmed at a younger audience. but i found it interesting and I feel Keanus voice fits shadow perfectly. They're not exactly wrong. Dreams of an Absolution has Green Hills' motif; there's comparison videos out there to show the similarities. I believe there was an interview where one of the game directors was asked about it and they said the similarities are a coincidence. Though I do think in this case they're doing Green Hills instead of Dreams of an Absolution. Still, strange choice three movies in.

What I love about Keanu’s Shadow is that he isn’t doing his regular voice for him, he actually softens it up and delivers his lines very calmly, which fits Shadow so much!!
Ik. Keanu is one of those actors that never blows off a performance. That might be why the roles he picks can seem kinda weird sometimes. Like when he turned down being in a Marvel movie in favor of a role in Sponge on the Run 🤔 like… what. Or how he turned down a role in a Star Wars show (I forget the exact one) in favor of this. We may love this series, but I think most other people would agree that a Star Wars role is more prestigious than a role in a PG-rated video game adaptation. I think he likes to pick roles he knows he can actually get into. You gotta respect that.

Can’t wait to see how they explained him meeting Eggman here. Last I checked in the games, he was executed (dead) before the events of (we can assume) the first Sonic the Hedgehog game, given that Eggman is the only known living person of his family left. I know the movies are in a different canon, but I want it to make sense.

Everything about shadow is on point. His presentation, his design, his voice, his movements, the use of the hoverboots, the rollerblade run, chaos control, everything, even the dark edgy vibe is present . They couldn't have done it better!!

Considering so far they have respected the material since the first movie's release, second, and now the 3rd movie is looking to do the same. This is literally enough to get me to go to the movie Day 1, i even plan on calling off of work if i work opening night.

I love that the second Knuckles decides to fight Shadow first, Shadow already had managed to be one step ahead to use about 1% of his true power.

I love how Gerold’s reveal at the end gives off that every Eggman pretty much has the exact same personality when it comes to being a genius.
Months ago, I kind of wanted to see *Heisenberg* in the role as Gerald simply because he just looks the part, the man knows how to be effectively both comedic and dramatic to a T. (And hey imagine him acting alongside Jim Carrey, that would have been wild)
But this is quite the surprise to be sure, yet a welcome one.

I hope Keanu realizes how important this is to us TRUE Sonic fans. He and Shadow have something in common. They're both badass without trying. They always seem to steal the spotlight regardless of the context. This has to be the greatest casting choice ever made in any video game based film. Words can't describe how lucky I feel to have been a diehard Sonic fan for 15 years, only to see this happen. This is gonna be one memorable Christmas.
