Abundance is a series of nine marching snare drum etudes written by John Miller Jr. that were composed throughout the previous two years. the project was born from the first three etudes and then continued with advice from others. the goal of the subsequent six etudes was to create unique musical compositions that conformed to three criteria: the etude must be at 160 bpm, in 4:4, and 24 measures long. (one etude breaks that rule) these requirements forced John to use abnormal compositional ideas and rhythms to ensure that all etudes were distinctive in their character, while still remaining musical and connected. in general, the goal was to explore new rhythmic spaces while prioritizing musicality, hand feel (flow), and rhythmic interpretation.

Is there a way to prevent the pad from wearing down like that? I have the same pad

Could be the head selection. I have a Drumslinger with a Tendura head and have
no issues. I saw a review of the RD Pad and someone said the company was having a few issues with a certain Evans head. Could be this one. Not sure.

I mean, you’re playing on it with sticks. Heads and pads and everything will wear down as you beat on them over and over again..
