You forgot to mention how much the US benefits from this war:
    1. All Europe countries are going to substantially increase their military spending. The NATO become alive again and US military industry sales more weapons to the Europe now. The top 5 military weapon companies stock prices' have been going up crazy since the war started.
    2. Divided EU. German & France' standing is obviously different from the East Europe country such as Poland. US tried so many years divide the EU, finally succeeded by Putin's hand.
    3. Many financial investment has fled Europe market. The Euro has depreciated a lot since the war started.
    4. Section Russia of course and then section China.
    5. Ukraine was the first country jointed BRI. Now the China-Europe Railway is operating less than half capacity.
6.Europe has to rely on more expensive US liquid natural gas. Europe, specially Germany's industry product will gradually loose their competitivity in the global market. US making more nature resource money from Europe but meanwhile still buying Russian product including oil.

In school, there is a clique of rich kids who flaunt their wealth and perennially cause mayhem and bully others, but because their parents come from old money and are very influential, they rarely get disciplined. One day, a new kid transfers to the school. His family has a working class and troubled background, but nonetheless, they are a proud family and have managed to slowly claw their way up through perseverance and sometimes questionable means. The new kid wants to join the clique of rich kids, but he is roundly rejected and scornfully mocked for not meeting the high class standards of the clique. The clique of rich kids use their wealth and influence to designate the new kid as a scapegoat for their teachers' ire while they themselves continue to enjoy their conspicuous excess. They even manage to convince some of the new kid's friends and cousins to turn on the new kid. The new kid, feeling disillusioned and cornered, lashes out violently at those who he feels has wronged him to the extent that he can. The bullied becomes yet another bully to those weaker than himself. The clique of rich kids seize on this opportunity to harass the new kid even further.
The other kids at school, who have been bullied for years, largely don't want to get involved. Some, though, dare to call out the rich kids on their hypocrisy. And some even tacitly support the new kid for standing up to the original bullies.

@dw wd More than 20 years ago, Ukraine divorced her ex-husband (Russia), and took several children along with her.
Still, the ex-husband was very accommodating to her and left her with a lot of family property. After that, the ex-husband also paid off more than 200 billion in debts for her.
After getting rid of her ex-husband, Ukraine started flirting with the village chief (United States) and his harem of concubines (NATO countries) until she was completely ensnared in their arms.
That's still acceptable to a certain point, (but) she was smitten with the village tyrant, and hooked up with him in a plan to attack her ex-husband.
The ex-husband was very angry and had insisted on returning a child: Crimea.
Ukraine began to harboring grudges against her ex-husband, and dreams of someday marrying into the NATO family.
But the truth is that the village chief didn't really want to marry Ukraine into the family. After all, she was high-maintenance and loved to pocket his money (corruption). His many wives also didn't want Ukraine to join family, but in front of Ukraine, they were all smiles and encouraging her to join.
The village chief just wanted to use her like a pawn to bully her ex-husband. After 8 years of constant abuse, her two children (Donetsk and Luhansk) were crying and imploring for help from their father.
The village chief was always on the sidelines in the ex-husband and wife quarrel, occasionally sending in expired items (ammunition) from time to time. Because of that, Ukraine thought she had someone to support her, and became even more presumptuous towards her ex-husband.
The ex-husband could bear it no longer, took another glance at the poor treatment of the children, and rushed over in defense of his two children, so the ex husband and wife started fighting.
Now, the village chief and his many wives are cheering on Ukraine from the sidelines, yet none of them are willing to lift an actual finger and partake in the fighting themselves.
Ukraine is unlikely to marry into the NATO family, because that would mean that the village chief and his many wives would be obliged to join the fight against the ex-husband.
      ...
Hopefully this analogy taken off Weibo helps puts the Russo-Ukraine conflict into perspective and on a more relatable level.

One big point not addressed here is how the EU/NATO members are in fact subservient to the goals and lead of the US who chose confrontation rather than diplomacy. Also, how EU countries are being coerced into 1. buying billions of $$ in weapons systems from US weapons manufacturers and 2. being forced to stop getting their oil and energy from the cheaper local source Russia and begin more expensive purchases and more distant sources in the US and middle east. The war is also impacting dependencies on food supplies from Russia and Ukraine in the EU as well as globally. These are all putting EU countries further into debt, experiencing growing inflation, and energy insecurities while the US weapons, oil, and natural gas corporations achieve massive $$$ profits. How long will EU/NATO countries continue to go along with this ? How long will their populations support the increasing austerity programs forced upon them ?

His videos should be mandatory watching for most people in the world.
China has been put in a very awkward position by the war in Ukraine. It is not China's war. China traditionally doesn't participate in any wars beyond its borders.
I am absolutely flabbergasted by the news of this or that Western diplomats going to China to threaten it if it doesn't follow the US orders.
You DON'T go and threaten China. Guan Xi... Had the US not started the trade war and had Western media been something else than 100% anti-China, Joe B. could call president Xi and ask for help. Of course, Prez Putin doesn't take orders from China, but there might have been a more positive response.
Ukraine, unfortunately, is a proxy war and the Ukrainian people are going to pay the price. Elensky, the former comedian, is just a marionette operated by Western powers. Not good for the people of Ukraine.
The US goal even before the war was to kneecap Germany. Now they have succeeded.
If you look at a map from the year 2000 compared to a map from 2021, you will see that most of the world has China as their biggest trading partner instead of the US.
The US needs a world war to maintain its dominance and everything they do proves that.

What you didn't discuss is the fact that this whole conflict was really driven by one NATO member. There were 2 conflicting U.S. doctrines about Russia. Republicans like Kissinger and Schultz believes that Russia should be brought into the fold. Brzeninski who was Democrat advocated for ensuring Russia can never regain its former strength like during czarist and Soviet times. China's stated position is against war but also stated that Russia has cause to take military action. China also know that they are the true target. When Biden went to Europe to rally his allies to contain China, Merkle remind him that he is sanctioning her country and Macron simply said that it wasn't a good idea. Well, "the west" is united now (unless Le Pen wins) . If Russia fails, the saying 唇亡齒寒 applies. China knows it and will make sure that Russia will, at worst, fight to a standstill.

As a Belgian you knew better. It's an illusion for E.U. leaders to think that the U.S. is on their side. What America has done so far is to destroy European economies to prevent the E.U. from becoming a challenge to U.S. economic dominance -- just like it did with the 1998 Kosovo War to kill off the Euro challenge to the greenback. Strategic European industrial giants will be gobbled up by American conglomerates at an opportune time, ironically with European capitals that are fleeing mostly to the U.S. When the vast majority of E.U. nations succumb to U.S. dominance, militarily and financially as well as energy-wise, the U.S. will bring forth its political prowess to destroy China with a proxy war across the Taiwan Strait.

Pascal there is an important detail that most media and analyst in the west have missed. since the first day of this conflict, Zelensky has not asked for humanitarian aid once. he has been asking for weapons and weapons only. average people in War Zones needs food, water, blankets, shelters, first aids and many more essential items, yet these essential survival items are never transported into Ukraine, despite the fact that NATO is consisted of some of the wealthiest countries on planet earth, and are perfect capable of sending humanitarian aids into Ukraine. so far, the only humanitarian aid videos i have seen are from Patrick Lancaster, and the people who are giving out humanitarian aids are Russian soldiers, not Ukrainian soldiers or NATO members.
Also from Patrick Lancaster's video (he is on the ground in Mariupol Ukraine btw), there are many citizens who were not evacuated by the Ukrainian government, and based on local interviews, Ukrainian soldiers robbed and killed innocent citizens. it's very clear to me that the Zelensky government wants to maximize suffering to gain more international support to fight Russia. at the same time, paint Russia as some kind of evil monster whose only job is killing. it's very clear to me that the west goal is to create an endless war, and the US is perfectly comfortable sacrificing all Ukrainians or even letting Europeans freeze to death, as long as Russia can be crippled in the end.

@@Andy-P More than 20 years ago, Ukraine divorced her ex-husband (Russia), and took several children along with her.

    1. Was peace talk really not achievable? Zelenskyy in the last talk agreed not to request to join NATO and even naming countries as guarantors , prepared to discuss future of Crimea etc. Why did he changed his mind? I believe I know why, do you?
    2. You mentioned many times war crimes / terror on the ground. Let us just looked at that one example where Biden called it genocide. Was it not that Russia immediately asked for an independent investigation but was ignored by UK? Why did Ukraine not support an investigation? Why do people in the West immediately jump to conclusion? I believe there are still clear heads in western media and politicians who doubt Ukranian propaganda but choose to be silent because it would not be politically correct.
    3. I understand Ukraine has been supplied with artilleries and some successfully crossed the border. I also understand many of them were made in the 1960s. Do you believe these weapons can match with that of the Russian's?
    4. Before the war US estimated that Kyiv would be taken in 3 days. Giving the benefit of some under or over estimation, are those US military experts really so dumb? Would there be another reason why this did not happen, eg because they belong to the same East Slavs group and are really considered as brothers? Therefore although Russia has control of the air you do not see thousands of bombs being dropped (or the equivalent of bombing), unlike US did on Afghanistan.
    5. I can understand sanctioning a country. What makes it morally right to freeze / confiscate assets of ordinary Russians? What has Tchaikovsky done that his music is banned? Why is Nepal requested not to issue permit to Russians to climb Mt Everest? There are just too many to list. Is this the new world order?

There are quite a lot of resentments against the US arrogance, hegemony and bulling in Europe, such pressure is kept under the seal for now, but when it finds an openning, the pressure will be released.
Let's face it, Europe is both an allie and a competitor to the US. The US would love to see a weakened Europe. One would think that by now we would have become experts in finding peace but instead we have become experts at war. Understanding peace is to know peace.

The western influence has changed societies across the world. The divisions like, east-west, Asia-Europe, North-South, are not as strong as in the world of half a century earlier or more. It is not unlikely that China keeps on trading with Russia because they support the right of the Russians to survive with dignity, notwithstanding the position of the Government there. The responsibility to the colonial empoverishment remained unclaimed. Similarly, China may also disown the responsibility towards any action they have no role in, by citing that trading, in anything not supposed to be used in war, is the exchange of value on mutually agreed terms and not a favor to be used in war.

Also, 无为 is in simplified Chinese, traditionally it's 無為
The Chinese character for _"dance"_ is 舞, not 無. Pascal used the correct characters for 無為, other than writing it right to left as in the traditional way Chinese words were written.
