  • Want to master the 70 yard punch shot to the green. This is also the kind of wedge shot Tiger Woods calls his "Stinger" shot.
The shot flies nice and straight, and has a lot of spin and bite so it stops quickly on the green.
This video will show you how to hit this valuable short game shot with your pitching wedge. You can use it to hit 50 yards, 70yards, and even out to 100 yards with amazing accuracy and control onto the green.
In this "stinger" or punch shot practice session,
I hit the couple of fat shots.
So I showed you how to fix hitting behind the ball (in one swing).
Then I noticed I was hitting slightly left of my target. So I showed how to fix that and hit the golf ball further to the right.
You can fix these problems instantly, just by just changing your thinking… not your golf swing.

Hello Darrell, Im 80 years old lowest handicap 25 now Im a 37 handy cap. Been playing steady and I have lots of trouble hitting that dumb ball. Im looking at your videos now I can swinging through the ball and having fun. No more swinging the arms and going nowhere.
    Thanks Darrell Stan

Good to hear you talk this out and diagnose why it wasn't working for the first few shots. Thanks Darrell.

I'm self taught, and close to scratch. I find everything you say to be correct, as it's what I do. I recently found your channel (last few months) and though I already do most of what you describe naturally, I find it most certainly helps me confirm what I already know.

Terrific drill. Some coaches call this fence drill, thought is keep follow through under fence.

As some one who went from 30 HC to 11 in a year . It all only worked from when I started practicing these shots . I can drive with the best of them but that next shot to the pin left me with too many long putts . Golf is about the short game . If you can chip or pitch it close to the flag your score will drop . Now maybe get my putting better to get to scratch or keep improving on the chipping . Great videos Darrell .

Good info. What brand pitching wedge were you using. I’m an equipment geek &/don’t recognize that wedge.

      @robert.
What difference does the brand of club make to the shot....Zero. a $300 wedge will work same as a second hand $50.
      It technique that's important.

Great stuff Darrell. Love the book you sent me. Reading it for the fourth time now! I can't wait for the weather to break to give this shot a try.

I’ve really been struggling inside 70 yds, so I’m definitely going to give this a try. How quickly does it stop from where it hits?

By changing your hula hoop direction, you also stopped hitting it fat cause the low point moved. Great lesson from start to finish.
