Yes! My favorite band! I've seen them over 40 times in concert. Even got a passport card to drive to Canada to go to their first show after their original drummer passed away.
This album got put down pretty hard by fans. It's ok that you started with Shepard of Fire. 😉 I personally liked the whole album, and it has sentimental value to me. What I like about Avenged is their mixture of metal with classical music. M. Shadows has great vision.
I've been a fan of A7X since Waking The Fallen, and I don't understand why a metric shit ton of fellow fans were shitting on this album. Shephard of Fire has a way of draining your hope in the verses, and then making you feel like a juggernaut in the chorus. Sure the instrumentals from HttK are pretty damn simple compared to older albums like City of Evil, but the lyrics of this album to me are more inspiring, and have more layers of meaning than songs like God Hates Us "my favorite A7X song", Scream, I won't see you tonight Pts1&2, etc.
@TheSchizo2 Probably my favorite song by them is A Little Piece of Heaven because it throws people off so hard. Dear God is a close second, because it reminds me of my love when I'm out in the vineyards and cellar during harvest pulling long days.
I was watching the chat from the stream lol. I would say Hail To The King (the album) is more of a classic metal style album. I wouldn't say it fits into Heavy Metal. Having said that, over the years, Avenged Sevenfold have changed genres a lot of the years they've been active. For example, their first two albums; "Sounding The Seventh Trumpet" and "Waking The Fallen" were mostly metalcore and are the two heaviest albums they've done to date. The next three albums; "City of Evil", "Avenged Sevenfold" (which is a self-titled album) and "Nightmare" were more between the genres of Metal and Heavy Metal rather than Metalcore. Then you have "Hail To The King" which I have already spoken about above. Their next album they released; "The Stage" was a BIG departure from anything they'd ever done before. The album in question had a LOT of Heavy Metal elements but definitely leaned a lot into the Progressive Rock (mainly on the bonus tracks) and Progressive Metal genres. And then their most recent album "Life Is But a Dream" was an even bigger departure from the sound their known for. The genres this album falls under would be Progressive Metal and Avant-garde Metal. Avant-garde Metal is generally seen and described as a metal sub-genre that is innovative and extremely experimental. And listening to this album, you can definitely tell there was a lot of experimenting going on with the sounds they used, the guitar tones, vocal melodies, song structure and even a lot of the effects they used, mainly on the vocals. It's safe to say that this album was met with mixed reception. Many people loving the new album and welcoming the change, others hating the album because of how different it was and how it wasn't the kind of music they wanted or expected from Avenged Sevenfold. And then you have the fans that may or may not have liked the album but supported the band in what they wanted to do with their music, regardless of how they felt about the album. I fall into the third category personally. I feel the new album was good from what I've heard, but to truly get a feel for it, I would have to listen to it multiple times as I feel it's one that will grow on me. It's not my favourite album from them, but I'm glad the band are making music that they are proud of and enjoy. I'll happily keep supporting the band because of the amazing music they've brought us in the past and the courage they clearly have to change things up and make stuff that they're happy with, even if some fans aren't particularly pleased with it.
This fucked me up so bad. I was like “is the video version different. Does album have diff intro” and as soon as I zoomed in to see what was playing you said “wrong song”. Was perfect timing
0:33 so much this , much appreciated also i laughed pretty hard when you finally realized you were listening to the wrong song 😂😂 love the korn at the end 🤟
i don't know if u choose songs u wanna listen too or just let chat pick out songs but would definitely recommend more of this band, for next song i suggest either Nightmare or Buried Alive
Ha, the Korn right after A7x....They were the band that was on stage before A7x at the Mayhem Fest I went to in 2014. Both great live! Oh so many songs to choose from. Anything before 2010 is the original drummer The Rev. Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater) took Jimmy's (The Rev) tracks on electric drums that he recorded before he passed, fleshed them out in the way he intuited Rev would've done them and recorded the Nightmare album and then toured with them during the "Welcome To The Family" tour. Synyster Gates always has f^cking amazing guitar solos, Zacky and Johnny are pretty damn awesome too. M. Shadows is the lead singer, Rev was a backing or sometimes chorus singer, while doing ~his words~ the octopus thing on drums. Arin joined in 2013 for Hail To The King and left in 2016, I think. Now Brooks Wackerman is the drummer. They will have the sounds of the influences of Metallica, everyone picks that up, but each album has its own sound from some loud screams to a more melodic sorrow & everything in between. If you do Critical Acclaim, do the studio version before the Live in the LBC version.
lol it happens, ive saved full albums when i only intended for one song all because ithe song was also the album title. it could be more confusing like the song bad company, by the band bad company, on the album bad company
One of the reactions I waited the most. A suggestion as well! Nick Thurl Mavromatis' new song is on a whole other level. You should react to his new song! 🔥
Second Heartbeat from A7X is one of the songs you should listen to and make a playlist. I always listen to their songs from the past until now. In my opinion, all the songs they make are masterpieces that we deserve to appreciate and support. Warm greetings from Indonesia.🇮🇩🤘🌹🍻✌🏻
Favorite band, not my favorite song by far. Plz check out some of their older stuff! Perhaps off "Waking the Fallen" or "Sounding the Seventh Trumpet."
They are a progressive metal band, an in between from metal/hard rock i'd say, and it differs alot in each of their songs Syn the guitarist has some insane solos on some songs
Honestly, just listen to their early live performances. The live performances at the LBC is unanimously considered the best A7X concert of all time. My personal favorite A7X song is Critical Acclaim but they have an ungodly amount of hits.
Check out AX7 not ready to die …. One of the Easter egg songs in the call of duty black ops zombies games….. also maybe check out 115 and beauty of annihilation from the black ops stuff ( by Elena Sigmond and Kevin Sherwood)
I just wanna point out how bad my eyes are w/o glasses lol AR in the bottom o your screen where it say Patreon Anthony Ray reacts duude the collor schemme i thougt it was a 🚬 cig for a minute lmbo js😅
If you wanna know if A7X is Heavy Metal, listen to God Hates Us "Live Version preferred the screams are much better and have more emotion in them", Scream, Critical Acclaim, Beast and the Harlot, Turn the Other Way, Darkness Surrounding, We come out at night. There are PLENTY others, they just happen to hit the Rock/Hard Rock pocket really fucking well.
This song is way better than hail to the king so good thing you clicked it. This is prob their weakest album but shepherd of fire is cool. You should check out “save me” or if you wanted earlier A7X with harsh vocals check out second heartbeat
Their song called Save Me is freaking mind blowing!
💯💯💯
Their song Nightmare is awesome too. It's a guaranteed banger.
Yes! My favorite band! I've seen them over 40 times in concert. Even got a passport card to drive to Canada to go to their first show after their original drummer passed away.
My daughter and I just saw them in concert last week🤘🔥🔥🔥
Columbus?!?! Either way, great show!!!
@@jcims Raleigh, NC 😁
Unholy confessions is fire, they used to have a more metalcore vibe to them on their waking the fallen album
A little piece of heaven!!!
Have to watch the video of that one though for sure
By far their best song!!! Followed by nightmare for me.
Buried Alive is my favorite A7X song! They are so 🔥
It's so damn good.
I love that song too but save me is my #1 favorite
@@seanferguson9267 you have the same last name as me
Save Me is their best song so far, and Tonight The World Dies have one of their best vocals if you want to check them
@@santi141414 couldn't agree more

Hail to the King is my favorite of their songs. 😄Coming Undone is my favorite Korn song! Playing all the best jams, AR!
I love these boys! Just saw them live for the very first time a few weeks ago when they played in Iowa, and they crushed it.
Bro, gotta love that you were so into it you kept rolling. this band is FIRE!
This fucked me up so bad. I was like “is the video version different. Does album have diff intro” and as soon as I zoomed in to see what was playing you said “wrong song”. Was perfect timing

You gotta react to The Stage!

You commented before watching the whole video 😂
The first song was shepherd of fire, the second song was hail to the king.
In live 🔥🔥🔥🔥
one of avenged sevenfold's best songs is probs Afterlife.
🖤🖤🖤🖤
Nightmare and this means war are some other awsome songs by them if you check them out again
the self titled and city of evil is so good. Hail to the King was probably their most lackluster body of work in my opinion.
🥁🔥🔥
si, esa guitarra esta bien tocada, al toque me genero mover la cabeza, mas rock pliss
