I purchased a ticket to see collective soul this year in Fargo ND. I t was supposed to be in July but got postponed until February!!! I’m so excited itll be the first time I get to see them live!!! Ed has an amazing voice. I love his lyrics and have been a fan since I was a kid in the 90s
I had no idea there was a pro-shot live performance of this. I've always wished the Afterwords album could've come out before they did their Atlanta Youth Orchestra DVD, because that album had some good stuff on it, but I'll definitely take this. Awesome upload! Thank you!
Michael Buttaccio Jesse is nowhere close to Joel, or Ross. Ross and Ed's ex have since divorced. And there was no reason Joel was fired, ed had his manager do it which pissed a lot of fans off. Ross fans understand why he'll never rejoin, id personally like to see Shane rejoin.
Sorry Gio, but Joel's leads SUCKED, he never played close to Ross's leads, he always seemed to skip through the good parts.Jesse is the next best thing to Ross, who was by far the best
Chaney was better than Shane in my opinion. Ross I can agree with a little. He shouldn’t have messed with Ed’s wife. If he didn’t he’d prob still be in the band today. Ross let his other head do the thinking if you know what I mean 🤣 anyways Jesse is okay. He does alright just gotta realize the band is getting older by the years and things change and people make mistakes.
@@dixienormous3262 According to you, no I don't , as long as you believe it's a prerecorded track that's the main thing. Sorry I was arguing with a music guru like yourself Dixie
It appears to be a live version previously recorded that they are lip syncing live. Because that is not the studio version playing, but his lips don't align every word. Yet his guitar playing is spot on, so it looks so convincing. All I know is that this ain't the studio version at all.
They seemed so much more upbeat back then. Totally different vibe after they fired Joel Kosche and replaced him with Jesse Triplett - seems more like they're just going through the motions for a paycheck now.
What paycheck?? If anything it felt like more of a money grab when Joel was involved. He tried to change the direction of the band & that’s one of the reasons he’s not in the band anymore. Jesse (& Johnny for that matter) have been the perfect additions to the group & they are more like brothers now than they‘ve ever been. The vibe onstage is more fun & laid back. They all truly have a blast onstage & actually interact & goof off with eachother & even more so with their fans nowadays. The lineup right now is more perfect than it’s ever been. Sorry you feel that way but coming from someone who has watched how they interact both on & offstage with eachother often, you are incredibly wrong with that observation.
@@destineecrystal_ I wouldn't know since the only explanation we got was a lie about the band supporting him as he "moved on in the world of music" and then the band acting like the new guys had been in the band since the beginning. Very strange.
@@mj1234321 It’s been quite a few years since that happened & Ed has opened up about it since then. Joel was trying to push them in a much different direction than what Ed wanted Collective Soul to be. They butted heads strongly creatively & it just wasn’t working out anymore. Joel was great in the band but there is no reason to trash the newer members (who really are incredibly talented & some of the sweetest most down to earth guys I’ve ever gotten the chance to know) just because the original members couldn’t vibe as well with the old members. So all in all Ed explained that strong creative differences & arguments in regards to that is why Joel had to leave the band.
@@destineecrystal_ I've never seen it addressed publicly. What kind of different direction? Did Joel want to make them a disco polka hip hop swing band? Seriously, the "rabbit" album (the last one I ever bought) had some good rockin tunes with some more complex guitar work. I liked that evolution of the band. If Ed wanted to keep it more simple, I think that's to the detriment of the band.
@@destineecrystal_ so, how exactly did Joel try to change the direction of the band? Joel was a great player and the perfect answer to replacing Ross. Nothing personal against Jesse, but he’s a distant third in the CS lead guitarist lineup
My favorite band! And they have aged so well in 2023!
It it just me or was this a really good live performance? Whoever mixed this live is to be commended.

Reminds me of Sugar Sugar by the Archies.
Nothing like a Hollywood produced hit .

It's weird to see Joel in their Videos now.....Jesse is Soooo much better...But it is sad.

Jesse is way better. He brings the grit that the band needed and hadn't had since the early days.
Agreed
