GW can't make a beginner friendly game to save their lives. Selling boxes without everything you need to play is just ridiculous and no other company would get away with it in other businesses.
Kill Team: Starter Set comes with everything you need to play.
GW can’t even imagine making a game not designed to extract the maximum amount of money from a small number of people. They’ve never been able to wrap their heads around the idea of casual players.
The barrier to entry is pretty insane. What game releases anything without rules. At minimum each set should contain the core rules and the rules for the specific team. Why would anyone want to buy the rules separately especially considering they will not cover every team.
I’ve attempted to get into Warhammer a few different times. Each time I do a decent amount of research then I finally come to the conclusion that I will have to spend too much money figure it out, it just feels scummy and I end up giving up.
I was thinking about getting into kill team… searched for a video
Uploaded 21 minutes ago!?!!
Perfect
Hey great timing! Thanks for watching 👊
Still waiting for your solo-rules for kill team! I have great hopes for those! ;)
I've got the AI charts finished and now working on the missions. Should be fun!
Same bro, still waiting. 😁👍
@@tabletopskirmishgames can't wait for that 👍
Same here. Really looking forward to playing this solo as well. Cheers!
This is the most comprehensive starter guide I've seen so far. Great video and thanks!
Glad it was helpful, thank you!
I love a good skirmish game. I've been looking to get into this one but there's no local game store close by. I'm living vicariously through your videos!
I'm working on solo rules and a solo campaign that will be available soon. Will post a video on the channel when it's ready.
Between the three page free light rules pdf and the online how-to-play videos, there’s plenty of info available to learn to play the game. I have to think that there must be Compendiums for sale cheap on the after market. I actually prefer the simplicity of the compendium teams to some of the bespoke teams. I’m still playing Death Guard, which hasn’t gotten an update. My son plays the basic Militarum and Scions out of the compendium as well. I still think the compendium teams are a good way to get the feel of Kill Team. But I understand the point of view of people who just see the compendium as an unnecessary waste of time and money. Sort of like buying a bicycle to start learning to ride a motorcycle.
Ok, wrong! Compendium not available on eBay cheap. Hmmm. Still can be found elsewhere not in hard copy.
Grey Knights certainly hold up from the Compendium too.
That was awesome lee I loved the first edition a lot got the second also thank you for trying to explain line of sight and cover and stuffs I've almost figured it out. Might have to do what you did and make my primaris death watch team. I cant wait to see if you'll make videos for necromunda which is really really fun
I ordered the Octarius box a few days ago, can't wait to get started :D
Nice! Have fun getting it built. The Orks are my favourite Kill Team rules, great fun.
Perfect. Cheers Lee.
Thanks for watching!
great video, personally waiting for the Leagues of Voltan rules myself!
Thanks! Yes me too, hopefully they will release some more White Dwarf articles.
Another Great comprehensive video as always mate 👍. Thank you
Thanks mate!
I would love to see how u run a game of killteam solo?
I can never find anyone wanting to play this would really help me out I've got everything including every killteam made an painted so learning to game solo would be Amazing
Hi, I haven't been playing Kill Team for a while now. I have released my own modern warfare game, though. It's called Rogue Warriors. I made solo rules for it which are great fun and you can use all the kill team miniatures and terrain you have with the rules. You can find out more here: tabletopskirmishgames.com/collections/rogue-warriors
Yay, love KT, and more people joining the better
It's cool to see more and more people playing it at my local club.
I'm thinking of starting kill team with a brood brother's team.
Awesome! The Blooded Kill Team is really good if you can get those models or proxy their Datacards with models you already have.
Good video
Only now just getting into this rabbit hole. I'm a huge fan of the Deathwatch and would like to start with that, but damn is this hard to get into.
It is a lot to get through. I'd recommend playing a few games against yourself using the same Kill Team for each side. It's a good way to get to grips with your operatives rules.
Hi Lee do you have a idea why the Octarius book is no longer available at GW online shop?
They phase them out so it could be that. You should find it cheap on Ebay and definitely with online retailers. Here's a link to Element Games in the UK elementgames.co.uk/games-workshop/warhammer-40k/warhammer-40000-kill-team/books/kill-team-codex-octarius/?d=10526
where were the links to the lite rules? thanks! Love the videos!
Aah didn't add the link 🤣 Here you go ...

Hi Lee, do you have a similar video for Warcry? If not it would be great to see one.
Hey, some suggested that yesterday too I’ve working on it today and will post that video later this evening.
With the limited rules in the starter set, like what are missing?
Missions, Kill Team specific rules, and narrative campaigns.
I tried, but I don't understand much in English and the automatic translation doesn't make sense 😞
Congratulation for your amazing youtube channel and for this great and helpfull video. I'm new to kill team (and Warhammer in general) , is it possible to create a kill team from a Combat Patrol Box?? I just bought chaos space marines combat patrol box to play w40k 500pt and i would like to covert it also for kill team. Thank you, Roberto
Thanks, Roberto! The Chaos Space Marine box can definitely be used for Kill Team. You could use the newer Legionaries Rules which are very good. I played against them a couple of weeks ago and they destroyed me! 🤣 You'll have lots of options for melee and ranged weapons in both the Combat Patrol and the Datacards so I think you'll have fun creating a team.
Legionary Rules on the companion book?
There are Chaos Marine rules in the Compendium, but the Legionary Rules are much better. You can find those online or in the Nachmund book.
@@tabletopskirmishgames thank you very much!
Very usefull video
Great to hear, thanks for watching!
Lol im hoping for catachan too haha
The best models!
Is there some rules for boss fight? Like one person having a full team and another having a single big unit or monster?
I am working on a set of solo rules and a solo campaign that will be compatible with Kill Team. There will be boss battles in that campaign and I'll post a video on the channel when it's ready.
@@tabletopskirmishgames That's a lot of work! Thank you so much for putting all this effort so anybody can have fun in multiple ways
It is 🤣 I'm writing a separate game based on my Weekend Warriors rules so I'll converting that into a separate book to work for Kill Team and other games like One Page Rules.
Can you make one of these for WarCry too?
I can! Will add it to the list, thank you for the suggestion 👊
Man this is so damn confusing. Wtf kind of model are they playing at?? Buy this but you’re missing that. Buy this but it doesn’t have all the rules. Then there’s differences between compendium teams and some others teams. I feel so lost and I just want everything I need to play and play w all the rules so I don’t learn one way and then come to learn I’ve been missing out on extra and/or critical things. =(. But really nice video. Thank you! I just feel more lost now lol.
I'm looking at many other games now that are more straightforward, the GW model got a bit much for me lately. I'm even releasing my own second skirmish game in January that you might like
I can't wait to see it!@@tabletopskirmishgames
Im a little confused. all these boxes comes with 2 kill teams, 1 for each player. But in the compendium, in the majority of factions it says that a kill team must be composed of 2 fireteams. like for example, orks must have 2 fire teams that could be boys, kommandos and speshs. So, these big boxes only come with 1 fireteam per player?
Some Kill Teams have Fire Teams that make up the Kill Team (I know it's unnecessarily wordy but welcome to Kill Team rules! 🤣). The Ork Kommandoes are different to the Orks in the Compendium. The Ork Kommandoes are made up of Operatives and don't include any Fire Teams.
@@tabletopskirmishgames now im totally lost lol
@@javierguajardo2726 I agree that is pretty confusing as a new player
