Dude YESSSSS!!! I have about 10 kick ass games on steam for VR, but my HYC Vive gave up the ghost years ago. We’re gifting our son the quest 3 and it’ll be so nice to have access to all my favorite games
Life saver mate. Got Quest 3 + BoboVR today, spent an age trying to get ACC to work properly, no luck. Stumbled across this, five minutes later driving around Spa with a big grin on my face 😊
Thank you so much for this, you saved my day, I wouldn't be able to figure it out so quick, and thanks to you I was able to connect to my PC on day one and test my new goggles. You're the best!
@@jorgepb6276 I didn't notice lag but it has worse quality due to the lower bandwidth, which wireless connection has. But if I connect PC to router via cable and then use airlink, the quality is pretty good. Cable, on the other hand, disconnects from time to time, and I have to reset the connection, but the quality is very good the entire time. May be the cable issue because I bought 5m long usb-c cable, but its bandwidth is very good so usually it works. So each connection has its pros and cons.
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I’m planning on buying a Quest 3S in the near future. And seeing this helps so much. I wanna play the new VR games but at a reasonable price, and seeing this just made my day 🤩👍
thank you bro, i was totally clueless, i was missing the final step, opening steam vr and THEN inside, open the game, i was opening the game first and i had no idea why i was only seeing a floating window instead of the game in vr
Typically you'd need a dedicated channel from your router. Wifi 6e is absolutely necessary or it will stutter like crazy. A dedicated wifi channel would be idea so you know nothing is bogging down the connection
2:08 I did exactly that but the environment around it is all distorted and I can't click anything. Anybody know how to fix this? I've searched forums but can't find help.
Hi~ I could use the way you told us to play steam VRgame. thank you. But I can't use this way to play MonsterHunter or other nonVr game in steam by a gamepad. there always have a visual mouse cursor on the screen...
im planning to get a meta quest 3, so this guide is very handy to have. one question though; do you have to do this process EVERY time you want to use it for steam vr? or does it stay linked until you manually disconnect it?
if you do the steps up until selecting steamVR would this be an optioin to play non-steam games on your desktop, since you end up pulling it up? (like emulation, etc)
Found something about it online, don't know if you got it to work or not so: 1. For some games, it may be advantageous to use controller emulation. You can do this under the "Controller Option" "Edit Bindings" and in the top-right, you can configure input emulation, and emulate another controller. 2. For controller input that is not coming into SteamVR properly, do you have other controllers or drivers attached to the system? I.e. a wired headset or software that creates virtual controllers?
Its unreal. $600 out the window. SteamVr will not see the headset. Ive been trying for 3 hours. It worked at first then stopped. And now it wont ever see it. Meta app does see it and says "active". Im really pissed....
hi, sometimes when I got in steam VR it puts me in a home like environment. Could I play normal Skyrim on the big virtual screen on the wall? Thanks for the video!
Is the experience, screen quality, compatibility and tracking better then the HTC Vive Cosmos and is it worth replacing? I find the HTC so clumsy with the cables and bad tracking
Is the oculus app on pc the same as the meta quest all ? Whenever I try to download the oculus app it says I already have it and directs me to the meta quest app already on my pc
I got this interesting situation that steamvr doesn't launch in the headset. It does launch on my desktop and i can see it registers the movement of my controllers, but i am still in the oculus environment.
@@ThisBlob third time i am replying.. my comment keeps getting deleted. I hate censorship.. Anyway, opt-in for the betas, SteamVR and the oculus app. That did the trick for me. If you want better quality, get Virtual Desktop.
What happens when you click on desktop to select a monitor and you are not presented with any monitor options instead only a giant black rectangle screen?
Will this work on a my Asus laptop it’s got i7-9750h @ 2.60GHZ ? And how would I go about downloading the oculus app when it doesn’t say “ air link and link cable “ on the Meta quest website ?
So with this methode you dont have to ues steam vr airlink then that is searching the pc? i played games only with steam vr app that i downloaded from the meta store so what is better ?
@1.SPLOOSH.1 no, you just select air link from inside the headset and the pc app sees it, you don't need to download or install anything separate anymore

Best guide ever needed the arms
Is there anyway to use the quest as a monitor and play warzone or regular steam games with a controller?
Thx so much, you’r the best❤❤
Do you need a high quality computer for it because my pc is slow
Yes, you will need a PC that can run the games you want to play. A headset will not improve the performance of your PC.
I’ll like & subscribe since you asked so nicely sir. Thanks for the help
should the oculus app take a lot of time to install? cause mine is just "checking system configuration"

Thanks but i got a question i was like really laggy like it crashed is it because of the internet cause its like only connecting to the thing right?

will the meta quest 3 utilize my PC GPU when connected?
I'm having an issue where the games only pop up in the desktop, and not the VR head set. Do you know how to fix this?
Did you ever find a solution? Having that problem now, just got my quest 3 today
do i need to download games on my pc to play or just have it in my library?
I wanna do this but with 2d games on a giant screen. It seems like this would be simple. But apparently it isn’t.

If it's just to play flat screen games, I recommend sideloading Steam Link instead. Much simpler.
i would prefer no latency.
ATS is very glitchy when using link cable, but only when driving and not in the set up menus.

hi when i try pairing it to my pc it says it cant i did everything and it isnt working

Do you need a good computer to do this?
Probably
For good games you do. In this video one of the games is Subnautica. A great game... but requires a decent computer to play.
is the wireless option better than the wired option?
Wired will almost almost be better as It supports a higher quality and lower latency experience, but airlink is pretty good if you don't want a cable
Does it use my computer power and storage or the quest to play the game?
Is the experience, screen quality, compatibility and tracking better then the HTC Vive Cosmos and is it worth replacing? I find the HTC so clumsy with the cables and bad tracking
I want to play wired so the games actually work but my computer doesn't recognize the oculus when its plugged in and vice versa, do you know why?
Hello! On their website, i see the oculus apps for all headsets othed than the quest 3. Is this just the same software as the quest 2?
It is the same software. It's just the Oculus app for pc, and it will recognize your Quest 3
@serohme47 yeah I found that out now, forgot to delete this. Thank you!
What if you don’t have a computer but you do have an iPhone or iPad with this leaking still work or not with the oculus three??
You need a computer with steam.
So we're downloading Quest 2 software for the Quest 3?
This is sick if you have the quest 3
does it work good with the quest 3. like does it run well and does not lag. cause my quest two has like 2 frames per second.
Can you play non vr games with the monitor still via steam?!
wow thx friend!
could you play gta v in vr through this method?
I only have an Laptop which is not really fast. Does it works with it?
