I am getting ready to start my polish journey, waiting for my DIY iron cleaner so i can decon first, but i like learning and watching the style of each person.
This was one of the better videos in a while with three awesome dudes and two amazing ladies. Thank you for the fun video and Tony’s garage looks fantastic.
Yvan, is there a way to touch up stone chips and use a polish/compound to cut any bubbling left from excess touch-up paint? Or is that something that would require a wet sanding? A video of paint touch-ups would be awesome
I had never run a polisher before but took on my 2019 black tundra. White LC pads and 3d One polish using Griots g9, turned out fantastic. Followed it up with Art deshine 5 yr ceramic coating. Don't be afraid.
Thanks to everybody!! Looks like so simple & easy that way!! Nice work. So, just to confirm what I saw, Rinseless wash is use before the coating application instead of an IPA solution isn't it? Could an IPA solution can be use instead?? Which one is the more secure to make sure the paintwork surface is as clean possible? Thanks to all!!!
Hello, I recently ordered C6 Hydro Light. Is there any period during which I should use the remaining part that left in the bottle, or I can use it e.g after 5 years? I can vacuum seal it if that helps. Also it would be nice to include a manual with all the steps required - doing it for the first time a check list would be useful. Anyways, thanks for great products.
Ready to tackle my first single stage polishing job. But my vehicle has tons of cladding and matte surfaces (Hyundai Santa Cruz). How do I address those areas during polishing of the painted surfaces? Thanks for all you do!
Will the C6 APP & Red Jeweling Pad be enough to abrade/remove DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss to accept DIY Detail 5-year Ceramic Coating? Three month old car has never been ceramic coated and the paint is to my liking.
I enjoy your videos. I'll be doing my first polishing with a power polisher tomorrow. My question is your interior honeycomb lights. As a viewer it seems hard to actually see the finish with thoses. Is there a reason you use those lights ?
Yvan, where did I go wrong? I used all DIY products to wash, decon, polish, then used C6 APP prior to coating with C6 Hydro Lite. On the sixth day after coating, my wife took the car out of the garage and parked outside (at her work) where the car accumulated some bug bombs/droppings (those small, pea-sized yellow drops) on the hood which baked in the hot summer sun for three days and nights before she brought the car home. I used Rinseless Wash to clean her car (first wash since coating) and some C6 Mist as a drying lubricant. Looks great and feels slick but those little bug droppings left marks behind afterwards, possibly etchings. Maybe I should have allowed for the full seven days prior to exposing the car to the bug droppings? Maybe three days of bug droppings in the hot sun (without washing) is too harsh for the coating? Advice please. Thank you.
sorry if this has been asked before... Is there any way to polish the tiny area under the door handle?? Can it be done via a microfiber cloth + golden polish? Thanks in advance
I have studied all your videos very carefully and am working on polishing techniques with a rotary polisher and the DIY system. After doing a low speed, light pressure final polish with the rotary jeweling pad, the paint looks absolutely amazing. However, when I look at it with a bright flashlight at night, I can see very fine holograms in the paint from the rotary. They are not visible in the sun or well-lit garage. Is this within the expected outcome, and I'm just being too particular? Or should I be achieving no detectable holograms under any conditions? Will ceramic coating fill in these finest holograms?
Hi, if it’s extremely hot and humid, can you still leave the wipe down to the end? I don’t mean working outside. Still in a garage, it’s just hot and humid.
Great vid. I’m selling my Bigfoot 21 and ordering the DIY 25mm. I work in a body shop. Would your rotary work well with a wool cutting pad to remove sand scratches? Would there be any advantages over my dewalt?
Got the gold standard polish, gold waffle pad and cheap 5mm da polisher for myself to correct my paint! How would you store your polish after use? Recap or leave the spray nozzle on? Also, since it's only 5mm, should i go speed6 or remain at speed 3~4?
I have a 2023 black Bentley Continental gt. The factory paint job on this thing is weak at best. Even though the car only has 1000 miles, the paint has light scratches and holograms throughout. I’ve tried to clean up the paint using the method described in this video (using the tools and materials sold by DIY Detailer), but i still can’t get the paint looking right. Any advice?
Hi, was looking for a recent video of yours to post this question. As I see all the replies from your team to questions being asked. Looks like I've found the place to ask you the following :) Looking to set my first steps into polishing (after using glazes and scratch removers by hand). Although it will take me more time, I'm eyeballing a 3 inch (also a 1 inch) DA machine. Your gold standard polish and pads seem to be great. My question is how to use the polish on a 3 inch, and even a 1 inch pad. My thinking is that I have to clean a smaller pad more often. So one spray at a time seems too much/ a waste of product. Is there a need, and eventually a way, for me to reduce the amount of polish needed? For example by using a smaller sprayer? Thank you in advance for your answer.
@@diydetailofficial my apologies for this late reply. That was an unexpected answer. But most of the time those are the best. Will listen to (and act on) it, thank you!!
Yvan always says the DIY Detail Gold Standard is a one step and that is all that is needed. Why are you doing a 2 step here? There is a lot of inconsistency in your videos.
Yvan!!! I am still in the provess of getting my business off the ground, but this morning someone texted me asking about my business!! They found my google page. I'm so exited to get rolling, but I'm still waiting for the equipment I purchased through detailed image to arrive. Tomorrow i have a meeting with the small business assocition in my area to go over my business plan, and I'm applying for my license!!! 🎉🎉🎉
28 minutes a video, a bunch of people but no footage of the results! I get that maybe it's not easy visible on video but I think that's the most important part! other channels at least try, some even succed.
am always happy seeing detailers work together .nice job
Thanks 👍
Really enjoyed the content nice to see Phil working with you guys
Glad you enjoyed it!

Awesome video guys, please make a dedicated video showing us how to properly polish curves & concaves
Good idea
Ahhh the Strumming sounds of a Banjo and Tony polishing with such smooth strokes👍. Very Cathartic🤗🤗🤗🤗

Best to under fill chips. Good plan for the video

Which coating? NGC?
I just checked and have to correct myself it was actually Apex Metal Oxide 5yr coating. Pretty sure it was based off the art deshine coating though.
Excellent
Have to add as a caveat there was no DIY👍 then.

We used DIY Detail Panel Prep, IPA should stay in your medicine cabinet.
Phil is such a big guy. I never realized that until I saw him next to Tony
Yes

3 months. This channel is the instructions

Ignore the matte, you can polish the plastic cladding if using The DIY Detail Gold Standard Polishing System
@@diydetailofficial Thanks!
Would like a music playlist compilation from your numerous videos so I can listen while detailing my cars. Thanks.
On it
was waiting for Yvan to yell at this dude with keys hangin out his pocket
Tony is a pro, no worries
Seems like a non pro move

Because they are inexpensive

Leave it in the sun. In a few days the etching will go away.
@@diydetailofficial Great solution! Will do. Thank you.

Yes, that’s perfect.
How often should you polish? And every time you polish I'm guessing you have to re-apply that ceramic coating?
The least amount possible, yes you need to coat again
@@diydetailofficial thank you

No holograms. Make sure that your waffle pad is clean, damp, and only one spray. With the machine, low speed, and no pressure
Does a finishing polish a the red pad be enough to abrade a coating to accept a new one?
Yes
Do I recall hearing a cordless 25mm polisher may come in the future?
Yes
@@diydetailofficial Looking forward to it.
If you don’t have a rotary polisher could you use the red jeweling pad with an 8mm throw DA polish and get good results
Yes
Great video 👍🏼👍🏼💪🏼💪🏼🔥🔥
Thank you 🙌
Out of curiosity, what happens with all of the B roll footage that Sylvie shoots with her phone? We never see it, or rarely see it, on the videos.
In this case it was compromised.

Yes, absolutely, but the 25mm cuts better than a rotary

Speed 4-5, clean out sprayer and close the tip
So low nap microfiber towel for the final finish. What type of towel is used for the rinseless to wipe off the excess product?
A pearl weave ideally

When is the gallon size of water spot remover coming 😭😭
Soon
Are you able to do this process with just a DA?
Yes
I have DA 21mm and rotary, which machine to use for APP application?
Neither, 3-9mm DA only
Can you use a DA with the Red jeweling polishing pad?????
Yes
Yvan, is 1500rpm on a 3in rotary to fast? That would be 7500 on a 6 in pad? Regards,Tony
Sorry 750rpm on 6in….
That’s fine
How many passes with each machine? Appreciate you all.
2-3

It can be used as either a one or 2 step system depending on the needs of the vehicle.
Wish I was there ugh 😩

Is there any distributor in Europe that sells the polish machine?
It’s on the way to the EU

Tilting either DA or buffer could burn paint.. mostly on new honda which have a thin water based paint. This video just shows process. no results
Burning paint is the result of pressure
