I love this effect Chrissie, and although the whole leaf shape is not visible, the glaze has left a lovely resist pattern. I love the way you have arranged the sentiment pieces at right angles to one another, and also added the white die cut leaves and sweet little pearls to finish, and the uneven edge dies as mats work brilliantly...a wonderful card. x

I love the sprays. I make my own. I bought small spray bottles and put drops of reinker into the bottles, and then added a small amount of water. They work beautifully. I also do this with the distress ink reinkers. It's way cheaper than buying the sprays 😊

Years of spraying paint has taught me to turn the bottle upside down and spray to clear the nozzle then wipe it off. I’ve never had one clog.

Interesting experiment! I think the glaze is made to be used as a sort of sealer for the Distress products, to keep them from reacting further to water, but I really like the effect you got by using it first. It looks like the spray kind of beaded up on the paper. I guess we make some great discoveries by not following the “rules”! I really like the stencil you used as well. Turned out quite beautifully 💕

Christine, another way I have used the glaze is by smooching distress oxides on glossy paper, waiting for them to dry and then glazing over the inks. It brightens them up beautifully.

It was so much fun to watch you experiment and I am thankful you didn’t mind trying it out with us! No one else does….lol. We all love you for doing things like this ❤
I adored everything about your card!! I can definitely understand how strongly you dislike the shiny glue showing. I can’t tolerate it either on my cards!
Thanks to you I learned about microdots and they are great for delicate and tiny die cuts.
I’ve learned so much from you as I’d just made my first card this year!
Today I learned another trick…to put the card up on something prior to swiping the edges.
    You are so clever!!
Again, I loved your card. I’ve purchased a few sprays from Hobby Lobby when they had 75% off of everything Tim Holtz. I’ve never used them but will definitely try them.
I’d thought Id used that glaze in the 70’s but it was a different name and by a different ladies brand. Sure enough Tim Holtz used it and got Ranger to buy the right to use using his product line. Now, I can’t remember the name of it!! Just interesting how items come back around…
I remember using Diamond Dust also during the 70’s on some craft items.
Just thought I’d share with someone and you were the person. Lucky Chris 😂😂. I’ve used the product to seal the paint after I was finished but was blown away at your idea and how neat it looked.
I so appreciate you and your generosity in sharing everything…❤

I agree that the glue shine is annoying and I had to add another layer to my text on a card in the past… what a great idea to just add more sparkle instead of the tedious addition of another layer 😂

There’s a card maker who uses Distress Glaze all over her Oxide backgrounds and cards to make the color a bit clearer/brighter. I wonder if the Glaze would disguise the little glue glop you don’t like (that I can’t see), just something to test down the road? It also waterproofs. Jess Makes Cards is the card maker, if I’m not mistaken. (Ranger Multi Medium Matte dries matte/invisible.) More importantly, love your card design and soft colors so much!

Beautiful card Christine. I have to say, I too am very disappointed in the Nuvo glue pen. It doesn’t flow evenly out of the nib, and then the nib gets all clumpy with its own glue, and then doesn’t work at all. Microdots may have made your job easier.

Ranger Ink does have replacement nozzles for Distress sprays for when they get clogged. They also have empty spray bottles with the bearings in them and tips for alcohol inks. They're quite reasonable. Tim had them stock a bunch of these kind of tools for crafters who had problems with mica clogging and who like to create their own concoctions. Perhaps there's a company in UK that sells Ranger products with shipping being so crazy. Shame about that Nuvo glue. I like your final results. Very nice for an experiment. Would that mine worked out so well. Well, sometimes they do.
