He was cocky and assumed he'd be able to handle whatever betrayal Geto had planned. He wasn't ready to be rocked by yuji. When geto came up to "save" him he knew he was in a vulnerable position and that Geto would try subjugate him so as a last ditch effort he went for the kill. It wasn't because "he has no loyalty for anything" he showed loyalty towards his fellow curses. The story was just telling us that "Geto" was never really helping the curses. During the fight with Mechamaru when he goes "maybe now I could..." He was ready to subjugate him then and there if mechamaru had done better.

Noritoshi Kamo's technique allows his to transfer to another body by placing his mind to it's cranium/skull. He is also able use the techiques of that body. He does this in order to extend his own life. So it's possible that one of Yuji's ancestors might of been a vessel for Noritoshi at some point in the past. Making Yuji the youngest genetic sibling of nine curse wombs. Including Choso.

NO SPOILERS. Just Some Informations/clarifications for whoever might need it: 1. The curse-user (Evil or non-abiding sorcerer in short) in possess of Geto's body, who i will refer to as "Geto", is not a curse spirit, he has a cursed technique that allows him to hop in bodies to bodies and has been around for at least 150 years. 2. "Geto" was in possess of Noritoshi Kamo's ("evil past sorcerer") body and so was actually him that did those evil dids, not to confuse with Noritoshi Kamo of today, the student that is part of the same clan and also happen to have the same name, Megumi fought him in the exchange event. 3. Choso claims to be Yuji's brother because he could sense Yuji's incoming death, something he can only perceive with who he has a blood relationship with, plus the fact that he understood who "Geto" was which validates even more his conclusion.

i'd say it's smart not to ignore that Mei Mei scene, not for any spoiler reasons but since it actually isn't a joke or anime fanservice. this episode she directly parallels Nanami and Choso working hard for the younger generation/their brothers, while she exploits that. it's meant to be uncomfortable but also inform A LOT about her character (and her technique which literally manipulates living beings for her benefit)

Just Some Informations/clarifications for whoever might need it:
1. The curse-user (Evil or non-abiding sorcerer in short) in possess of Geto's body, who i will refer to as "Geto", is not a curse spirit, he has a cursed technique that allows him to hop in bodies to bodies and has been around for at least 150 years.
2. "Geto" was in possess of Noritoshi Kamo's ("evil past sorcerer") body and so was actually him that did those evil dids, not to confuse with Noritoshi Kamo of today, the student that is part of the same clan and also happen to have the same name, Megumi fought him in the exchange event.
3. Choso claims to be Yuji's brother because he could sense Yuji's incoming death, something he can only perceive with who he has a blood relationship with, plus the fact that he understood who "Geto" was which validates even more his conclusion.

Doesn't even matter that he didn't do it in purpose. Form all they know itadori has a curse inside him that only their S-Rang elite can handle and even they might not be able to. Even Gojo was thinking for a moment if he can beat Sakuna before he said yes. The fear of itadori losing control was always justified. It just sucks anyway but it can't be denied that he is possibly a danger to humanity itself and unfortunately during this while incident it was proven that their fear wasn't for nothing and what they don't even know is that Sakuna made a deal with itadori that itadori himself forgot and we don't know the consequences yet but I think we already got a taste how it might look like
