- I recently picked up a Shoei RF1400 and wanted to add a comms unit. I have a Sena in my GT Air II and haven't loved the experience so thought I would give Cardo a try. I read some reviews that said both the clip mount and the speakers would not fit the RF1400 so I decided to take a crack at it.
Find the Cardo at Cycle Gear here:

Thanks for the vid, my dude.
Ty buddy
Thanks for the vid I have the same helmet
Me too, its amazing 🥲
The few installation videos I've seen, the guys chose to use the adhesive to set the main unit. I saw something about the clip and discomfort, is that not the case?
I don't have any issues with it at all. In fact, hadn't even thought about it until you mentioned it. Don't think I've ever even noticed it was there. I have a big head though, and my helmet is an XXL. Possible it could be different on the smaller shell sizes maybe?
Can you pair the cardo with a gopro and use it as your external wireless microphone?
Great video. I just ordered the same unit for my RF-1400 and was hoping the unit would fit with the clip.
I'm curious if you have trouble getting the helmet on with earplugs. I use earpeace plugs and the helmet always shifts them slightly when I put it on.
I use surefire earplugs and occasionally they grab a bit if I'm not careful putting it on. The speakers also sit pretty much right on my ear with the helmet on but I don't really notice it after a few minutes. The sound is also wayyy better than my gt air 2 with the integrated sena
You should try to route the right side speaker wire between the headliner and the very top of your helmet if possible. This wire also acts as an antenna for your FM radio. Create an "S" pattern as you're routing the wire back to the left side to the connector.
Absolutely brilliant tip! Thank you. I'll definitely give this a try.
I installed mine today and I really wish I read this comment before I got started. I didn't even know there was an FM tuner till I did the install on my phone. Oh well I guess I can go back and redo it. It really wasn't that hard to install either, I don't know what all the big fuss was over the RF 1400
@@robertfreyer5748 I wish I had known prior to install myself. Still haven't gotten around to moving the wire. No rush I suppose, still pretty rainy here in Seattle.
Intro scared the hell outta me
Lol
