Cardo Freecom 4x / Shoei RF1400 Install / Will it fit???

I recently picked up a Shoei RF1400 and wanted to add a comms unit. I have a Sena in my GT Air II and haven't loved the experience so thought I would give Cardo a try. I bought this bike back in October of 2022. After nearly a year in the shop I finally have it back. The seller said it needed a starter clutch, and I was going to make it my winter project. Turns out it needed a lot more than that. I was obviously misled, the dealership agrees. However, now that I have it back I think it turned out great. The question is: What do I do with it now? following this video's suggestion I bought the Dominator mid pipe for my Ducati MTS 950 Akrapovic GP dual exhaust, and the servo buddy, man what a difference it truly sounds like a mean Ducati, it got shipped out from Poland, 10 days waiting then 3 days, perfect timing to perform the desmo service, perfect fit no issues whatsoever. Thanks! It's been fantastic honestly. Just had it on a weekend road trip and it performed flawlessly. I never got it tuned, no tuner, and don't think I will anytime soon. It really runs great as-is. As for the termi, that end can is really just there for decoration. Most of the exhaust properties are contained in the cat/midpipe on your bike. As some of the other guys commenting have noted it'll be incredibly loud and basically just sound like it's straight piped. No nice exhaust note to speak of. If you want to try something less expensive I'd probably give the Dominator end can a try. If the quality is as good as the midpipe it'll do great. One of the other guys in here did a Mivv and said he's happy with it. Whatever you do, make sure to get the dongle I linked for the O2 sensor thing. I will say though, the Akra has not disappointed. @@kneeman7 The termi sounds fantastic as-is from the factory. The trouble comes when guys try to do that cat delete on it. With the termi system on the Multi, all of the exhaust components are located in side the cat pipe, so when that piece is removed all that's left is the termi end can which, on the multi, IS really just decoration. A friend with a Yamaha R6 called and wanted to go out for a ride that Monday afternoon. About 20 minutes into the ride, I lost power, and it started smoking. Turns out the valves broke, and engine destroyed. Talked to MV to see about a replacement as there were prior reported issues and warranty claims, however they wanted to charge me $10,000 for a new engine. My opinion would be - I don't recommend it. It's going to be way too loud and that can is specifically designed to be used with the catalytic converter that's attached to it from the factory. Hope that helps!

I had the dominator midpipe installed along with the stock exhaust a few months back at a Ducati Service garage. They used the eliminator fuse to prevent any dashboard errors and mentioned making adjustments for optimal fuel consumption and map curves. Surprisingly, the sound turned out to be much louder than I anticipated. Despite a smooth riding experience, I didn't detect any significant increase in horsepower or torque. One noticeable aspect is the exhaust's roar when throttling down, suggesting it's trying to release more than the end silencer can handle. In the future, I'm considering upgrading to an aftermarket silencer, possibly QD.

I doubt it is dangerously lean, but it doesnt idle as good and also if I pull the clutch so RPMs drop quickly the bike will stall or come close to stalling. Not a problem with the Bren Tuning. Also, the butt dyno feels like it makes more power, however given the power of the 1260 in stock form, I'm almost never in a situation where I use the supposed 10hp bump. I haven't done it yet. Still considering it but wanted more real world info / reviews on it so this is helpful. Currently have a needy MV Agusta f3 800 that's taking up most of my time. May get around to it once I'm done with the F3.

Nice vid. Seat looks way better than stock. How is the comfort side of it, any differance? I'm a '19 multi pikes leak owner...the seat is just ok, bit @ 3hrs of riding with proper butt prep...butt has had enuff. Lol

It's just slightly better. A little more cushion, plus the material makes it so I don't slide forward like I did on the stock cover (stock material was oddly slippery). If I had to do it over I'd probably add the gel insert they offer. That said, I just did a multi-day trip out to eastern Washington and it wasn't too bad.

I can still say now, totally worth it. You may need to get that model tuned though. Just check to be sure.

Usually you have either an "Arai head" or a "Shoei head"...I happen to have both, i own this helmet and the Gt Air 2 Ogre so I'm an exception I guess... too bad it doesn't fit because it's absolutely gorgeous with this graphic..

Hey Alex. It's me again 😆, I purchased and installed that exhaust and servo eliminator, but the engine light came on anyway, do you know what could be trigging this engine error?

I meant to message you yesterday after install but ran out of time, disregard the comment, after I messaged you I came and check the bike and the engine light is gone.... lol 😆

Thank you for putting this video together. Lots of good info aside from the install. I have a 2016 DVT PP, and now looking into some mid-pipe options. Tune aside, I think for the price this is a good option to experiment with, but I may end up putting the trigger on an Akra full titanium pipe (header-back). It's $1K though, and $150 sure feels better on the wallet! Regardless, it looks like the 2015-2017 DVT's are an anomaly for tuning, with little option other than Rapid Bike as a piggyback system, or a Termi system + Ducati Racing map (which I can't get anymore in California). So we're stuck with piggy back setups, and whatever exhaust option fits. My ideal is an SC-Project CR-T with Akra pipes, but we'll see. Thanks for the video!

*editing because I replied as I was eating lunch and was kind of short. You're welcome! Yeah, install was pretty straightforward. I had the exact same thoughts on the Akra headers but like I said in the video I was willing to take a chance for 180 bucks or whatever it ended up being. Very much so not disappointed. I would highly recommend the dominator. For the price of the Akra you could also order the Brentune device which imo is far superior to a piggyback system... and between the two you'd still be less than the cost of the Akra headers. If you dig in to the install and have questions feel free to reach out. It was super simple, especially since the o2 sensors didn't need to come out. Six bolts total getting the cat out and that's including the three front header bolts.

I wonder if is the same case in MY2015 1200dvt termignoni slip on - dominator mid pipe decat & healtech eliminator decat. Do I need remap or is good to go ? Cause to remap and tune is is pretty cost and difficult to find someone . Thx in advance

It's the Evotech model. Purchased from Motovation.com - can't say enough good things about them. Install instructions are on the Evotech website. I'll ink those too. Just a quick note though - it's designed to take the stock turn signals. I originally ordered a set of Rizomas to mount on it but could not find an adapter that worked. I ended up taking a chance on some Ducati Performance signals on eBay that looked like they might fit into the stock housing. Bought those, but had to do a small modification to get them to work. Wasn't difficult but definitely wasn't plug and play either. So if you're looking to do aftermarket signals... just something to think about.
