I’ve got a 371 from 2011, picked up new from Heinnie’s…
Been used and carried plenty… still going strong.. will have to get hold of a USA made version sometime…

Great comparison. I have to say, I think I like that hump on the Chinese Spay Blade. I can see where that could give good finger purchase for draw cuts. Cheers.

That was interesting. As far as I can remember, Buck used to use 420HC ( which is somewhere between 440B and 440C ) steel for their pocket knives. 420J2 is an ok steel for pocket knives, but it does seem strange that RR now use a higher quality steel than Buck does lol.

I love the Chinese made Bucks. I also prefer the Buck 371 over the Buck 301 (I own both). The 301 has the spey blade sticking up out of the body of the knife. I own a new and used Buck 303, and the used one is much better manufactured than the new one, which I bought in March 2024. All my Chinese made knives were perfectly manufactured and had very sharp blades.
Seems wrong for a Buck to not be made in America
@@920utdoors9 agreed. But it’s still a Buck same as the Chinese Spydercos, they are still Spydercos. Obviously someone from the actual Buck company is doing some QC because my Chinese bucks are flawless.
