Hey there Carson, while I have to admit that you flying through downtown Indianapolis is amazing and beautiful, I have to ask if flying through a city like that is legal or not? I just bought my Mavic Mini and flying through downtown Cincinnati would be totally epic! Just trying not to get in trouble you know.
Thank you! As far as where is legal or not, Indianapolis is legal to fly in some spots, whereas other (such as over Lucas Oil Stadium) is not. If you hold a Part 107 though, you could get permission more than likely to fly over spaces like that! As a hobbyist though, I would verify the airspace you’re wanting to fly over through an app such as AirMap, B4UFly, or Kittyhawk. I use all three personally before flying anywhere new to ensure that I am allowed to fly where I want to fly! My personal favorite that I check first is Kittyhawk. That app gives lots of other information as well as airspace info! From what I can tell generally in Cincinnati, there are many parts of it which you could NOT fly in without an authorization. I don’t know where you’re wanting to fly specifically though, so I would check those apps. Hope this helps!

Man! You were so close on that pilots license, darn! Maybe someday you’ll be able to complete that :). Anyways though, about the Part 107, you’re on the right track for sure! I would also make sure to study this: www.faa.gov/regulations_policies/handbooks_manuals/aviation/media/remote_pilot_study_guide.pdf as it’s made by the FAA for UAV knowledge testing. Again, my videos should help explain those more and explain how I passed my first time both on the initial and recurring Part 107 test! Believe me, it may seem daunting the testing price and possible study materials if you decide to go that route, but keep in mind you will be able to regain that investment after just a couple of clients :). Fly safe!!
Oh, also, to add on about the registering the Mavic Mini right now - since it is under 250g (at least without ANY modifications such as the prop guards or a strobe), you do not need to register it as a hobbyist flyer in the United States. If you are a commercial pilot (have Part 107) then you NEED to register, no matter what. Also, if you plan on modding the Mavic Mini at all the be heavier than 249g, like the mods I mentioned above, you’ll need to register the drone too.

We have the same phantom drone 3 n I couldn't register cuz it has 1313 on the body of the drone and it wouldn't allow me to register it for some reason but I'm trying different things to just get pass it to pay for the 5$ on line:p any great video man I really enjoyed that nice view of the city as well!!:)

ALWAYS 30fps. I absolutely hate 24/25fps myself as that just makes the footage feel too glitchy to me. Also, I shoot 30fps on my main cameras, so it wouldn’t make sense when combining footage in an single video.

I use Final Cut Pro X to edit all my videos. For the transitions, I use mostly Ryan Nangle transitions and effects (you can search him up on RUclips)!
