I just always really like Jack! He's so comfortable in the garden. Like a parent to his plant children .... always touching and consoling into becoming the best plant they can be. And He's a nut! Full of personality. Such a talented man.
I can tell Jack is super funny when he was talking about digging up the big rock first you think it’s a Little Rock then you keep going “Oh she Big!” 😅😅

There is so much diversity. My property has rocks of all sizes. The ideas that are popping in my mind are tumbling out. The relaxed look but very well maintained. So much can be learned from this.

Beautiful. I love how they are protecting the environment by not using any harsh chemicals and using mix grasses allowing weeds to grow free and working with nature not againts nature! Love it all!

It was so interesting to see Jack's design style. He is very meticulous about the grass walkways staying very clear, clean, and crisp. Same with the rock border staying very clean/crisp and visible to the eye and the curves are lovely. What I really enjoyed seeing was all the ground cover in the beds. My favorite was the pocket garden leading towards the fountain where there was just so much to look at. I loved all the little trees. The layering there was so soft and beautiful 😍. LOVED this video! All those beautiful borders of stone and so much ground covers make me wonder if you'll ever add those types of things to your garden. This tour really made me realize how those are looks I love and how to achieve them. I can almost see Laura and your mom antiquing in a horse and carriage.

You should plant that mixed groundcover behind the boxwoods under your red point maples on the west side garden. That way you could have pretty and low maintenance plants that wouldn't block the view of the urns.

As my favorite garden channel I would love to request longer views of the garden section being discussed rather than constantly panning back to Laura & Jack having the discussion about the garden. So many wonderful ideas to be soaked in with longer looks at the actual gardens.
how i miss mackinaw! its been ages since i was there but my fave cottage there is the lovely yellow home shown in "somewhere in time" (with chris reeve). jack has a marvelous perspective on historical feel and garden deisgn. this kind of lovely living takes a lot of money.
