- Strut spacers can raise a lot of questions for those wishing to install their custom lift kits at home.
The most common question TRAXDA receives is, “Hey, I ordered a 2” inch leveling kit and you sent me a 1” spacer.” The spacer’s height depends on many different factors, including the type of strut system on the car (which could even be different in the front and rear of the same car), the tire width, the wheel base, or the engine weight, etc.
TRAXDA can send you extra plates to add more height if you are worried about the spacer height. For example, you will receive a 3” lift per plate with an extra ¼” plate installed on an F150 with a 1.5 to 1 ratio between the distance from the suspension pivot point and the middle of the tire and the distance from the suspension pivot point and where the strut mounts to the lower control arm.
Beyond customizing the strut spacers to the specific needs of your vehicle’s parameters, TRAXDA’s struts provide added safety. Unlike many competitor strut spacers, which are made up of a tube passing through two plates, TRAXDA’s strut spacers consist of two plates that have a tube trapped between them.
The tube holds up the weight of the truck itself, rather than relying on the welding to keep the weight up. If one of the welds breaks, the truck would continue to drive as normal-keeping you and your family safe. For struts that rely on the welding instead, a broken weld means the plates will collapse on each other and damage your truck or worse.
All of TRAXDA’s strut caps come with Preston studs instead of bolts. This makes for easy installation that only requires two hands. In production, TRAXDA’s spin blaster removes all of the rust and toughens the skin of the metal.

the public needs to support these aftermarket lifts..ive been searching the internet for easily accessible spacers for the ford explorer..traxda showed up..i hope they keep making or enhancing their lift system for the explorer..have good testing machines. these things should be offroad compatible and durable.

B is your lower control arm length, where the center of your tire is or how wide it is has nothing to do with the vehicles ride hight. Also, wheelbase has nothing to do with ride hight, and the amazingly enough engine weight does not change when you put a lift kit in so ride hight isn't impacted by it.
Don’t forget that after the lift you will need to align the radar and camera units on most new cars. This may or may not be possible easily. Knowing this I am not sure I would install the Traxda kit again.

I still don’t understand your a:b ratio. So if I use wheels that have less offset than a factory wheel then I don’t gain the full lift?
He is wrong about wheel offset, tire width, wheelbase, engine weight, none of these things change what your ride hight is. Unless you plan on putting a heavier engine in your vehicle after you put the lift kit in. B is the length between the pivot points at the ends of the lower control arm, where the strut connects to the lower control arm will determine the required spacer hight to give the vehicle the desired lift. I believe the strut sits closer to the wheel side of the lower control arm meaning the 1" spacer they're selling in their 2" lift kit will not actually be the full 2".

Well smart guy the problem is when you put your kit on a car to lift for bigger rims the spring plate on the strut is in the way...a better idea is to weld another plate on the strut 2 or 3 inches down from the original strut plat. Adding these cheap products changes the ride to your vehicle

Don’t buy these kits! Quality control is awful!
Definitely questionable. Do it yourself for lifts are never a good idea. There's so many variables it's ridiculous. Hundreds of millions of dollars are spent on design and engineering on every vehicle for a reason. Slap on stupid cheap ass parts like these and your destroying the physics of the vehicle. Your fuel, stability, every part throughout your vehicle will be compromised. This is why almost every insurance company will drop you and or not cover you on any claim/ accident you will have as a result.
