- Today, we're discussing the different wheel and tire options for the 2000-2006 E53 X5, and how to put larger offroad tires on! Now though, I think we should do a lift kit and take this Overland build to the next level, what do you think?!

I have a 2005 BMW X5 E53 4.8iS V8 and I have converted it to run on LPG. I've 20 inch TYRES all round, had the windows tinted and changed out the stereo unit to a 10.5 screen.
More X5 off road content ! Been waiting to follow an e53 off road build

Yes, following for a lift on the X5
you neeed to look at ECS Tuning and see the custom parts he is 3d printing and milling only for the E53 for off roading!
Getting or building a roof rack ladder like what the Toyota 4Runner has would be cool too

I've got 265/65/17's with 17x8" ET20 BBS Style 42's, front is flush or poking a few mm, rear is a touch from being flush. It's sitting on factory sport suspension and seems to be clearing everything.
Not only intrested in looking u will lift it but i am thinking ot lift mine but cant find a lift kit in Bulgaria

Did going to 75 aspect f up your speedometer? I've got the same wheels but mine are beat to shit. I want to put steelies on but nobody makes them with that oddball bolt circle.
Just saw this video. What were the weight differences between the 19" e70 wheels and tires verse the e53 17"s with standard size tires then the over sized tires?
How does it drive, differences in handling, feel, steering, highway, off road?
Is there any speedometer error differences?
How about fuel economy on the highway?
I had 20" on my e53 5 spd then switch back to 17" and I gained 3 mpg....20" combo weighed 74 lbs, 17" combo weight 50.

Is there no mission shock when driving after installing the tire size at 245/75/17? Is this size still in operation?
Yes I still have these on my X5, and love the way it drives. The added lift from the tire height was noticeable, and no fender rubbing, but I'd like to put spacers on it soon. Would recommend!
I ran 1" spacers on the rear of my e53 and the fit was less than 1/4" from being flush(no poke). Think I ran 12 or 15mm in the front
Sweet, I was wondering if 1 or 2 inches would be a better fit. I'm going for a flush look too
@@TheBimmerBarn I had the stock 19" wheels. Not sure if they were the same offset and such. I just taped a plumbob to the fender and measured from the tire for the rear. The front I just slapped a spare set of spacers from my e90 on. Don't forget the e53 has a different lug bolt size than the sedans. M14x1.5 if I remember right
What tire pressure do you use in the new oversized tires?
Depends on the tire brand, but these ones are supposed to be inflated to 44psi!
@@TheBimmerBarn thanks, I am planning on getting an e53 and do the same size tires but the right tire pressure for best fuel efficiency confuses me.
What's the smallest wheel diameter that you can put on the e53 x5 diesel?
I think 17's are the smallest you can fit
I should've kept my manual e53, I had cragar black steelies and 265/70/17's on mine, I'm going to find another one.

@@geeniusatwrokthey’re just cragar d windows in 5x4.75, should be online at several places. You’re better off getting an alloy though, steel wheels were heavy as shit and you could feel it.
