Here’s the remake of a song I wrote and performed in Old Norse. This one is based on Snorri Sturluson’s Óláfs saga helga - the saga is enormous, almost 300 pages, but I did my best to condense it to give you a taste of the original Norse version. I recommend reading the real thing! The refrain is based on St Olaf’s famous warcry: Onward, onward, Christmen, Crossmen, Kingsmen!, as recounted in the saga. I hope you enjoy. If you enjoy my work and would like to help me make more, please like the video and consider subscribing to my channel. You can also buy me a coffee here if you’d like to support my work: www.buymeacoffee.com/theskaldicbard I appreciate your support and kindness, as always. The Norse surely loved to go on a-viking, adventurous and relentless as these raiders, warriors were. I am fascinated by how tthey navigated the various seas that surrounded their homeland, and the Normans afterwards were the ones whom conquered, Sicily and uplifted my little beautiful island contributing to the history that we have. Battle of Cerami 1063, was essential in this Norman endeavour.
It is amazing as always, we have the remaster of Haraldr Harðráði and Saint Óláfr, now we need Knútr inn Ríki and we have the trio complete! Great work my friend!!!
Ooh, I was really waiting for this one, I'm glad you did it! Amazing sound as always Sir Skald! By any chance, I would love to see your Swedish Crusaders song remastered. I love the musical elements of it and a remaster would be brilliant.

Skaldic Bard, your work inspires me to dive in the Old Norse and Old Engish languages and improve my conlang (man made langauge). And I do love this remastered version of Saint King Ólaf, one of my favorites songs when I discovered your channel. Skaldic Bard, I hope your work will become more known among listners in the world to hear. Keep up the good work Skald Bard!

Glad that you're continuing to do the remakes. The og ones are still good, but the gloss over for these remakes enhances what was good about the initial ones since you're using better equipment now. Excellent as always.

Excellent work. Would you consider doing songs in the language of the Normans(jerriais)? Not many know Bohemond and the normans helped establish the first crusader state before Jerusalem was even taken.

Are you able to make a song in Pictish? I know there’s not a lot of information on the language itself but I’ve been curious how it sounds for a long time since it’s a Brythonic language but so distant from the tongues to the south that there was probably no mutual intelligibility. If you have enough resources to put one together that would be amazing!
