The original title is "Bridge over troubled waters". It was written and released in 1970 by Simon & Garfunkel. It´s a truly great classic song that many, many, MANY artists all over the world have done their own renditions of. Tommy does it with a swedish lyrics, but the content is quite true to the original meening. It´s quite often performed at funerals in Sweden, but it´s such a great song that works anytime and anywhere. Simon & Garfunkel wrote some really fantastic songs and this one is probably one of their best and most famous.
Tommy Körberg is a national tresure in Sweden and one of my absolute favourite singers ever! He is just fantastic and can sing almost everything. He´s turns 75 July 4th (tomorrow!) and he is still touring and performing all over Sweden, and he´s just as good as ever. And yes, an "o" with two dots above it, "ö", is pronounced as the "e" in "nerd". (sorry, I couldn´t come up with any better example). Great reaction :)

This is from a musical quiz show, it's not even a concert or a pre-planned choice of song. We love our Tommy 😄

If you pronounce the K in Körberg like Ch in change it will be excellent. Körberg has made so much good music since the late 60s. One of my favourites is a short cover of Bowies "Heroes" in the beginning of a Swedish TV program. Its in RUclips! Another is "It takes a fool to remain sane" with Ola Salo and the Ark.

Almost correct - the "K" in his surname is pronounced like "CH" as in "charge", whereas the "Ö" is pronounced similar to "I" in "bird". There are very few pop singers in the world who can match his voice.

Hi Paul, yes the lyrics may be interpreted as I = God both in the original english version and the swedish. It is often sung as a gospel in Sweden as well. Simon & Garfunkel was very inspired by and wanted the song to sound gospel but it is actually a love song written by Paul for his wife. This episode of the show Så ska det låta aired on national tv in Sweden (a prime time show) in march 2003.

If you haven't heard the Simon & Garfunkel original you have really missed something. It's magnificent.

This is the best version he did of this and it happened to be in this tv show "så ska det låta". This was in late 1990s or something.

I recommend Tommy's "Fait Accompli" - either English or Swedish versions. Both are excellent.

😊👍 You pronounced the ”ö” in ”Körberg” correctly but the ”K” is pronounced ”sh” in this case. ”K” in the swedish language is sometimes pronounced ”k” and sometimes ”sh”. I’ve never thought about this before I started to watch reaction-videos of people learning swedish but, now that I have, I understand that this can be a bit confusing when learning swedish..

@@TeacherPaulReacts I'm not sure how the "e"with the apostrophe over it is pronounced☺️ But yes you prounonce his name "Shörberg"..and the way you said "ö" in the video was correct😊
      .
You could look at the video below and fast forward to 5.50 to hear the guy say Copenhagen (the capital of Denmark) in swedish. "Copenhagen" = "Köpenhamn". We pronounce the begining of the name "Körberg" in the same way as we pronounce the begining of "Köpenhamn" (Copenhagen)..😎

@@memoblom2112 To be very precise it is pronounced chörberg. It is a bit harder than shörberg. And ö is difficult for non Swedes.
