I think htc cut out about 20% of potential customers because of the camera nonsense. Guess Sony is going to be picking up those customers with the z2

So far this year phones are disappointing compared to last year phones.
Brandon P but he didn't even mentioned Apple. Maybe he doesn't mind the incremental updates of Apple. Anyway, the recent incremental updates is a sign that the smartphone industry is maturing. There is only so much OEMs can do

HTC One M8's camera takes great pictures but still not as good as the other flagships although it has another cool feature than can make up for that
The bottom line is that the M8 (in my opinion) offers the best of everything except the camera
The top performer, i'm talking about day to day usage not benchmarks, benchmarks already tricked us a lot
You get the best design and the best feeling phone in your hand
You get those amazing boomsound speakers
You get the sense tv app which is really great
You get the most beautiful android skin which is sense 6.0
You get the fast android updates which you don't find on any other android phone expect the nexus phones, and HTC promises at least two years of update
In the end...
You get the best overall experience !!
So don't let the camera make you take your eyes off this beauty, and remember that the camera is still great and gets the job done for most people in most situation, especially in low light situations

Im still getting a HTC One M8 this friday for T-Mobile and its coming out the same day as the Galaxy S5 so I hope the lines are not going to be nuts that day
The black bar with the HTC logo on it is used to house the digitizer, the part of the screen that monitors touch input. All phones have this, it isn't exclusive to the One.

Can't wait for Z2 comparison, I think I'd have to go with the One but it's a hard decision. What would I enjoy more? Watching RUclips vids in the tub my noise cancellation on any headphones, or shutting off the teachers projector in class with the I.R. blaster?

This, and its predecessor, the M7, after two hands-on walk-throughs via friends, is what convinced me to recently change from a Moto G2 to HTC 10 owner... Despite what others (especially Samsung owners) say, the10 offers a much better experience for a power user such as myself!
This is a perfect review. I have been in search for what's the best smartphone to buy. And considering that iPhone 6 and 6plus were released in the market, I'll get the HTC One M8. I'll stick to the flexibilty in terms of performance--and I found it in HTC One M8. It's a lovely and a fantastic phone! Thanks for the review! Cheers!

Got this phone yesterday but exchanging for a s5 TODAY lol it's not a bad phone at all. I just love the s5 picture quality and camera better

when reading something on the web and you enlarge it why are the htc cell phones the only ones that compresses the paragraph into the size of the phone screen size ?
on the samsungs the enlarge letters stay large

For people who have the m8, its normal that if i cover the left hand side of each speaker covers the sound completely? and half the speaker (right hand side) has some white stuff or something. Weird

I'm probably going to wait for both the M9 and Z4 to be announced but, just for the sake of it, is the M8 a better investment than the Z3? All the comparisons and reviews I see make them sound sooo similar. The only difference seems to be the speakers/camera.
***** Will you do a comparison between the Google Play Edition and the normal one? Or could you at least tell me the main differences between them, I mainly want to know if you will still be able to use the duo camera or now that HTC is releasing their main software features as apps in the play store this won't be a problem?

Just went from iPhone 5 to this new one m8 and now android for life.
I love the look & build quality. That being said, I agree with others who feel this year's phone offerings might not be worth dropping 6+bills on. The only unique and intriguing device I would go for is the Sony Experia Z2. Classy, tough and a 20 mp camera. Now if only .ore carriers got it.

Some points i want to make for that phone:
1) First of all i find that it looks amazing. And thats even after the mediocre first impression it made for me. At first i liked the m7 more but as i see this one in the hands of reviewers i like it very very much
2) Sense is nice looking has nice features looks cool and its very very fast since last year. Deffinitelly faster than other OEM.
3) The boomsound is a nice feature both for media and for phone calling. Many is the time i find myself in a crowded area or a bus without handsfree (i barely use them) and i struggle to hear what the caller says.
4) I wish HTC did better with the camera. I dont care that much but i would prefer a simple shooter with no second camera for after shot refocus and with small pixel count camera.
5) I wish HTC had better after market service.
Thats what i had to say. Josh you probably did the best review of that phone. Good job buddy.
Just got a amber gold one from best buy, my contract ends at the end of the month but I found a loophole that was just fixed about 2 hours ago. Customer support called me up to confirm on how I did it and they gave me the phone for free for helping fix the 2 year contract loophole.
I still like my S3
but looking at current phones.
S5, Z2, M8, LG Flex
all of them have pros/cons
