    i have the HTC One M8, its all around great. Amazing sound quality, great display, beautiful and stylish build quality, very very fast processor and also a great camera. Just because it says 4 ultra pixels doesn't mean its bad, it takes very nice shots and takes the shots very quickly. The biggest wow factor to me about the phone is the battery life. As long as your not watching constant videos or listening to music through the boom speakers through the phone. it will last you for a very long time. Of course listening to music through the phones speakers will deplete the battery quicker in any phone, but having two beast speakers will definitely run it down quicker. i switched from the iPhone 5, to the galaxy S4 and then switched to the M8. The M8 is my favorite. I am looking forward to the HTC One's lineup coming in the upcoming years. They are great great phones. If i ever want to switch to Samsung's galaxy lineup, it'd have to be next years model, they barely changed ANYTHING on this S5. And if i ever switched back to Apple, they better make the screen much bigger, better battery life and also make the camera at least 16 mega pixels. The HTC One M8 is the best phone on the market right now, and if your going to complain about how bad the camera is, (which it isn't even bad). Go buy a cannon camera. Nobody will ever get a real photography type shot on a phone. HTC FOR THE WIN. M8>S5

    Gold M8 ! love my new phone ... the camera is not bad AT ALL . if people didnt know it was 4ultra pixel i bet alot of people wouldnt complain... its a placebo . yes the quality gets slightly grainy when zooming in but unless your taking pics and blowing them up for posters or picture frames (which why would you do that with a camera phone) it takes really clear pics. so far i have to say its the best phone ever made. the LG G3 and Nexus 6 might have something to say about that but they arent out yet so.. yeah ... love it

  • @redgrafia
    @redgrafia 10 лет назад +55

    I would get the M8 had it improved its camera. Its 4 ultra pix cam is a deal breaker. C'mon HTC. Camera is a selling point.

      Terra Riley yes. S5 wins this time.

    • @josetirado81
      @josetirado81 10 лет назад +16

      i beg to differ. i don't care for the cameras. i look for performance, software and looks. The s5 looks somewhat ugly and unappealing. the htc m8 isn't plastic and looks amazing which is a big win also the front facing speakers and amazing audio is the selling point for me on the htc m8 since im a big fan of music. htc sense is also in my opinion is easier to use than touch wize. it pretty much all comes down to what you prefer in a phone. cameras are not that big of a selling point so htc doesn't bother with it to much.

    • @redgrafia
      @redgrafia 10 лет назад +1

      Jose Tirado then I guess it all boils down to user preference. Dont hold it against me if I consider cam quality as the main selling point because I love photography. S5's camera blows HTC's out of the water. Besides, performance wise, S5 is a beast. I dont really care about touchwiz or sense because im going to use a different launcher anyway, say Apex or Nova.

    • @redgrafia
      @redgrafia 10 лет назад +7

      Jose Tirado and the looks doesn't matter. I'd choose functionality over aesthetics. HTC might be beautifully designed but it's not as water resistant as S5. And besides, there are a lot of cases and other accessories for the S5 out there to solve that issue of design.

    I think people are really overhyping this metal built phone argument, why wouldn't you want the option to replace your battery with a removable back?? If your battery becomes damaged with a metal phone you can't simply switch it out. Also what would you do if your phone dies and your nowhere near a charger?? Its okay because atleast your phone will be metal and more likely to slip out of your hand and get damaged regardless. Thats what cases are for, you need one to protect you device!

    • @Sean3RA
      @Sean3RA 10 лет назад

      You can carry a portable power pack that will charge any phone, not just the one. Metal phones are more resilient and break far less than plastic.
      It's not overhyped, it's been proven with basically every durability test ever. Both phones rate bad for slip though. I wish they had some kind of grip.

    Beautiful review and comparison of both flagship , I've always been a fan of HTC but decided to go for the note 3 early this year and despite the 3gig ram I still experience the lag from the over bloated touchwiz. Writing this comment from my HTC ONE M8 and am loving it all the way. Sense is smooth n fast . If you are a serious user,I will advice you go for the M8.

    duo camera over a standard 8mp camera or 13mp camera AND "black bar" keep it a second pick to the S5 (not to mention the non-removable battery). honestly, i'd rather have the M7 with OIS and a smaller overall frame. i know, i know, I KNOW! megapixels aren't everything, but being able to zoom and crop/edit larger megapixel photos makes a difference. and the S4 and S5 have killer cameras.

  • @NigelKing94
    @NigelKing94 10 лет назад +5

    I got the HTC One M8 today. Here's why I chose it over the S5 (it was a tough choice):
    What's the #1 necessity in a phone? ACCESSIBILITY
    Samsung has wowed me with their extensive features. It shows me they really want a device that everyone can tailor to their specific needs. On the other hand, that can be very time consuming and a bit difficult to master. HTC took a totally opposite approach and designed a phone that is a bit more limited but everything is easy to access. From the settings to the camera, to the motion gestures. Samsung is a great device for those who want EVERYTHING out of their phone. You won't lose with that phone, but HTC won me over with their ease of access to what I want. Design nor sound really factored into my decision. And honestly, testing out the camera, it's really nice. HTC went for making sure you capture the shot, not necessarily the greatest shot. But let's be honest, both devices are better than iPhones and that's the real competition lol.

    I would choose S5 over the HTC. In my particular case a better camera, fingerprint scanner, waterproof resistant, swappable battery, download booster, better multitasking will always win over a better build quality(i use a case anyway) simplicity (I would have stayed with iPhone), and better sound speakers(nothing to comment about that ).

    • @18ncarbonara

      Same, everything looks very appealing in the m8 and I was just very skeptical about it being 4 megapixel. This video confirmed that the s5 is just better. I think a good upgrade from a S3. But that back cover of the M8 looks great but hey I can get a case for the S5.

      VJayzzzHD true i went from an s to an s3 to the s4 to the iPhone 5s. Now since I'm choosing another phone, I don't think the galaxy s5 is worth my time. I guess I'll choose the HTC One M8 and hold that down to see if the iphone 6 or the galaxy note 4 is better

    Just curious so checked this out. I am/was the owner of the acclaimed M7 and,at first, loved it. This was my first smartphone and I was really impressed with the technology and the capabilities of such a small device. Cell phones sure have advanced.
    However, my feelings changed when my camera caught the horrible purple bug that plagued this model. Basically, turned my camera into junk. Needless to say I was and still am pissed over that whole abortion.
    That a tech company could let such a massive mistake slip into production seemed ridiculous. I didn't like how it was handled either with HTC obviously trying to downplay the situation as hordes of customers began seeing this crop up.
    We were left among ourselves to figure out what to do with rumour and inuendo being the solution. Will there be a software update to fix it? Was it even software?
    Who really wants to send their phone off to get repaired and have to re install everything? Of course many, including me waited for another solution. Not to mention the horror stories of people being stonewalled by the service department with allegations of "water damage"(what I swear is just a manufacturer loop hole to void warranty) and being given a choice of paying hundreds or ridiculous shipping fees.
    Bottom line? That experiance made me hate HTC. Which is sad because I really liked the phone but the frustration seeing everyones great shots while mine were noisy pink bloody messes was infuriating.
    I couldn't even do a simple online sale post without having to go through another camera and a huge hassle transfering images etc to post a simple ad! The thought that this could be so easy had my damn camera work only ground salt into the wound.
    Fast forward to today and HTC was not even in contention(never will be) I am now the very happy owner of the best tech I have laid hands on the awesome LG V10! Now THIS is a smartphone. Its simply works and does so fast and with quality. Its just so intuitive and a multi task machine despite the fact I am no power user the second screen is so handy as I can quickly check the time w/o waking up, phone a friend w/o leaving a video, its so much more than a gimmick. The sound quality is what sold me to begin with having ESS Saber DAC and amp. There are stand alone DAPs that cost nearly the same. The camera is unbelievable, and I haven't even explored the manual options. The Q Slide thing again is brilliant and familiar windows style option...really smart software. This thing has so many features that I actually use its crazy.

      Yeah, both phone use the same CPU/GPU, but the S5 has a little bit higher clockrate (doesn't make it much faster). However, the S5 has an awful optimised OS and therefore, it starts to lag every now and then. Have the same issues with my Xperia S. Awful optimised= lag every now and then.

    • @zdawg3579
      @zdawg3579 10 лет назад +1

      That's not lag. The operating system isn't as "snappy" it isn't lag. I own the Galaxy s3 and after two years it's just now starting to lag, however, I'm getting the GS5 because although people hate on Touchwiz the S5 is a hell of a lot faster. Touchwiz actually works well, it just matters how much strain you put on the phone, but the S5 seems to have fixed that by trimming back features making it work better all around.

    I can tell you why the m8 is a lot better. First, the build quality is more appealing and comfortable. The headphone jack on the bottom and micro SD card slot are a nice touch. Next the FRONT facing speakers blow the s5's out of the water from my experience with both. The complete audio experience HTC has provided is the best on a mobile device! For the camera, the m8 suits what I use it for. The front facing camera is surprisingly great. The rear camera is simply better in all low-light pictures. The two-tone flash allows for more realistic shots. Having stereo microphones is way better than a mono microphone. Also, the UI and photo editor is more simple and really nice. Did I forget to mention the m8 has the fastest focus of any phone that I have ever used. Yes the s5 takes better daylight shots. There is more detail and contrast with bright lighting. They both are really exceptional cameras but I prefer HTC's approach. I upload photos on twitter and instagram and with the ufocus effect, the pics look really good. I cannot remember the last time I put a photo on my PC. Another aspect that is better is the software. Sense 6 is more snappy and responsive than touchwiz. I have yet to find a slowdown in Sense but with touchwiz I encountered lag with my magazine and switching between apps (mostly with games). The motion launch gestures are something that I use all the time. I use blinkfeed for my news consumption while my magazine is laggy at times.
    This comment was made to state why the HTC m8 is better than the Samsung Galaxy S5 and not to bash Samsung. I really do enjoy using both phones. Samsung has somethings going for it like it being water-resistant (I wish a lot more phones were), the download booster, removable battery even though I never had to swap batteries, the finger print scanner, and durability of the phone.
    What both phones are pretty much equal in are the battery life with enhancements to last longer and the displays of each phone. I can barely tell a difference between the two. If anyone is considering a new phone, the m8 should be the first one to look at.

      @BryanXD09 10 лет назад

      Well just think about it. Your not going to ALWAYS use the camera. And your not ALWAYS going to use the multiwindow feature. one thing you always will have to live with though is the hardware. And it's blatantly obvious that HTC has the superior design. Also an update in camera and the multiwindow feature is something HTC can add with a software update. The ugly design and terrible speakers of the Samsung can never change. I would say to go with the M8, I know I am.

    It's scary how many people continue to badly and ignorantly confuse "looks" with "build quality." For all you HTC fantards and iSheep, please let us know how you're enjoying the cheap plastic cases you all have to throw on your metal turds, to keep them from denting, scratching, and scuffing. Until an HTC One or iPhone can be regularly used without a case, the "build quality" goes to the durable polycarbonate plastics used on Samsung devices.

    I'm gonna go for the HTC 1M8 because of build quality, sound & overall performance. The camera looks a bit better on the GS5 I won't lie, but at the end of the day the phone for you (no matter who you are) is the phone that requires things you'll be using on a daily basis & personal likes. This is the reality so just choose what "YOU" like & FUCK what people think. It's that simple :)

  • @velkro16

    When it comes to cameras, S5 all the way. It has nothing to do with megapixels. It's just a better camera. More detail, color, quicker autofocus, more camera options, plus you can see what your HDR photos will look like before you take the picture.
    Build "material" preference is just that, a preference. There's no Samsung is STILL using plastic or HTC is STILL using metal, like someone has to "catch up".
    The build of the HTC is more attractive to me.
    The sound on the HTC sounds better than the S5. No refuting that.
    User interface is a matter of pure opinion. Flat and simplistic is only a modern design choice that has nothing to do with beauty but how modern designers believe it to be. Pick the interface that is most functional and useful to you.
    The build of the S5 is much more durable. Period. Water resistance should be a standard feature on every phone. I'd take that as a standard before I'd take front facing speakers. Nowadays, your phone gets wet, it's over. It shouldn't have to be that way.
    HTC wasted too much space on the front to stick their logo. They made the device even taller and put the button on the top. Bad idea.
    Battery on both sound like they've been good. Have to give it up to Samsung on the extra battery saving mode though, and removable battery is not a necessity but if you travel you'll find the quickest and most cost effective way is to have a fully charge spare. No expensive battery cases making your phone any fatter, no extra cables for external battery packs.

    For me, I'll take the M8. It beats out the S5 in every department (Speakers, Software, Build Quality, etc) except for the camera as the S5 performs better in that area but the camera on the M8's camera is not poor by any stretch of the imagination, its just a level lower than the S5.

      Speakers isn't even a part of the comparison.And S5 wins M8 in the specs.Build quality,either it's metal or cheap plastic,there are pros and cons for both material,so it is a draw.Both devices are good in software.So overall,it's pretty much a draw between S5 and M8.

    • @Putt-Putt

      MaskedGuy112 The specs are basically the same. Build quality is obviously where the M8 shines. At the same time, it's also based on preferences. Same as the software but Sense 6 is more towards simplicity and stock android so I'm guessing more people are aiming for that kind of experience IMO.

      Panwagan Metal
      Pros:Build Quality,Durability,Feel
      Cons:Reception,Chipping,Temperature
      Plastic:Vice versa.
      But of course metal is obviously better than plastic.

    Performance is essentially the same with some very slight differences and I don't really care much for camera quality. So choosing for me came down to which felt better in the hand. Far and away it was the HTC M8. I've had it for a day and I absolutely love it!

    i bought HTC m8 a month ago... i was thinking about s5 but finally i went for the m8...i am a iphone owner for over 6 years and this is my honest opinion on this product - m8 is amazing... sense is just so fast its insane... video and photo quality is really good.. i watched photos and videos on a 61 inch tv and it was clear and really good... i dont know what else u need from a phone camera... the BUILD is simply the best on hte market... battery life - i get up 8 in the morning when im back late around 11 pm its still at 30-50 % and i do alot of web browsing youtube music and so on... im not saying s5 is bad its a amazing phone to.. but im happy i got m8!!! touchwiz is much SLOWER really... :) hope this helps

    M8 is a far cry from it's predecessor, the M7. Don't be fooled by it's 90% aluminum construction or it's duo camera. First off, the camera on the phone can't even get the job done better than it's competition with TWO lenses; really? and the trade-off was OIS? Hell fuckin NO. & don't tell me I have to see this phone in person, because I have when I visited my local verizon store to see how it felt. FYI: it's slippery as hell. solution? wear a case. result? plastic or rubber. Ideal for a 'beautiful' phone? Not really. And why is the phone so awkwardly tall ? HTC hyped up this phone way more than it deserves; and it's pretty sad because they'd say anything to sway consumers in their struggle to survive against tech giants like apple or samsung. good luck to you HTC, but the m8 just isn't the answer.

    I used the m8 for two weeks, while my daughter chose to get the gs5. I took mine back yesterday and traded it for an s5. The m8 was a good phone, all-round, but the most impressive feature was the KICKASS speakers on the FRONT. I can't say enough about how awesome they were... however, in the end that was the only thing that made my decision tough in choosing between the two. I mean, really tough... those speakers were amazing, and it was so nice to have them on the front, no longer having to either cup my hand around the speaker in the back (so damn annoying) or use headphones in order to hear. But the s5 won me in the end, with absolutely everything else. Beautiful to look at, excellent picture qualities, incredibly smooth performance, and almost unbelievable speed. They are both fast phones, but to me, the s5 seemed faster, and definitely much smoother in performance. It seemed like the htc one m8, when it got too busy (which was often, as I use my phones very heavily for EVERYTHING) it did start to get a bit sluggish, forcing me to have to do the ol clearing cache, close apps, etc. VERY annoying... but not so much with the s5. In my opinion, the s5 wins, by far. If it hadn't been for those damn speakers on the m8, I would've exchanged it for my gs5 much sooner.

    I had the note 3 before and also the s4, Samsung butchers the beautiful photos when sending them via sms and uploading them to Instagram Facebook and all other social medias. And this is a really important thing that most reviewers don't talk about. It was always a task and a half to try and get people to see the actually quality the phone was making. Coming from an iPhone also It was great when pictures were sent the way they actually looked and the HTC one holds that. I currently have the m8 and it's great, and not to mention also the headphone jack quality sounds better as well. Whenever I would use a aux wire on my note 3 and s4 the music didn't even hold the quality from my computer, the HTC one keeps the great quality and it even keeps it better then the iPhone, cause let's be realistic the iPhone music software and hardware are good. Just a really important thing to think about. This is what really made me pick the HTC one m8.

    They're both slick phones. The S5 clearly has a better camera but the M8 has amazing speakers. I'm gonna hold out for the Note 4 because that's actually Samsung's flagship phone not the S5. Hopefully it will have a 2k screen to compete with the oppo find 7

    • @msan108

      the note is a flagship but its not the main flagship.....Samsung still states is s series is its main flagship....the note was meant to compete for the attention a business/ phablet orientated erson......the s line is for the common mjority, everyday average consumer

    • @o0mrrobot0o26
      @o0mrrobot0o26 10 лет назад +2

      techmaster that being said, I still prefer the Note line because that's where Samsung usually puts their high end chipsets in. The Note 3 came a little bit after the S4 and had the snapdragon 800 and 3 gigs of Ram to the S4's Snapdragon 600 and 2 gigs of ram. Not to mention pressure sensitive stylus support and 4k recording neither present on the S4. I'm a spec whore and business owner so it suits me better but everyone had their own preference.

    • @msan108
      @msan108 10 лет назад

      Ed Irizarry its due to the notes later release cycle that puts ahead of new chipsets, with the expectation of the latest cpu....however next year thats gonna change cause u have the snapdragon 808 and the 810 coming out and both are 64bit hexa core and octacore cpu configurations requiring 4 gigs of ram for top performance....so whether u get the s6 or note 5 it wouldn't matter because both chpsets are worlds beyond the 801/805

      Now please tell me, how many times did you actually USE the shit ton of features in S5? I don't see a point of having the heartbeat monitor in there, since most of the samsung users are 16 year old teenage girls who use the phone just for FB and selfies..

    • @Urbansquealer
      @Urbansquealer 10 лет назад +4

      Henry Kimmer ***** Many of the features are actually useful, and aren't as gimmicky as they were in the s4. Now... given that you limit those features to what the M8 has (which actually isn't removing very much), then you'll find that both of these phones are still virtually the same. So similar, in fact, that the last couple lines of Carlos Valenzuela's argument would actually stand true.
      I can't ever see when the speed would really matter though... but I would like to see the Samsung improve in that department. I'm just saying that it's not like you'll ever be skulking around, looking for some guy to be eyeballing your phone load up the camera .5 seconds behind his, only to cry about it later at night. Unless that kind of thing (a phone being faster) makes you orgasm in your sleep, then it shouldn't be something that blows one phone out of the water in comparison, or makes you choose one over the other.
      Design is also a bit of a sketchy argument. It's like saying that my metal door is better than your wooden door... They both do the same exact thing. The only difference, though, is that the change in material on a phone doesn't add to durability...
      Bottom line, it's up to you as a consumer. Do you like buttery smoothness, or cool features? Do you want better sound, or a better camera? There's really no reason either should be deemed "better" than the other...

    • @sylinic6081

      ***** Henry Kimmer Many of them are useful, though.. It's obvious that you two either don't know a lot of them, or are just saying that in hopes that people don't notice how good many of them are. (I'm not talking about gimmicky ones like the baby cry detector, or the heartbeat sensor.) And I don't have much trouble with the fingerprint scanner. It gets me to my home screen faster, and that's why I like it.

      battery life is equal or better on the M8, but if you need more than 1 battery through the day, yes S5 will suit you better

      by the way galaxy s4 had 2600 mah battery last year
      galaxy s5 got 4times better camera than htc .
      but due to ultra pixels htc camera performs better in low light
      samsung got fingerprint scanner , heart rate monitor and thermometer .
      htc got nothing like that
      i probable will never use these things but i will still like to have these things just to show off.

      htc is clocked at 2.5 in Europe, i dont know why they do it 2,3 in US.
      S5 has more mAh battery because all this bloatware requires more battery.
      but in the end, htc lasts the same, or better because it doesnt have as much crap running in the background
      fingerprint and heart rate are useless on a phone, except for showoff.
      btw, its fingerprint scanner has already be hacked, so not much of a security boost there.
      if you like bloatware that lags your phone, then go for the S5 like most people will thanks to advertisement.

    There is obviously a clear winner here and I still don't know why people are denying it, The HTC M8 wins. The disgusting design of the s5 is the same old shit from last year mixed with the note 2 plus the really ugly bandaid back. The specs of the s5 can't make up for the ugliness. The HTC M8 is full of innovations, first from the design, the front speakers, and the dual camera. Even though the camera is 4 megapixels the dual camera is a innovation which other phones will soon adopt. So samsung fan boys stop being in such denial.

The only down fall you need a case because it is so smooth it'll slip out of your hand if you have cold hands or dry hands , for example in the morning my hands are cold so I used to drop it a lot but it survived. Also the cameras have poor crystal covers and scratch up really fast and it makes it so u have to wipe it off if you take photos in bright areas or it will seem foggy,the display is so real it feels like your looking at the real thing.

    I've been using the m8 for a while now and one thing I can tell you is that it sucks for MMS. If you use wifi often like I do, it plays havoc with MMS messages for some reason. I've had to go as far as to disable wifi, turn airplane mode on, shut the phone off and reboot it. Then turn airplane mode off just to get MMS to work. When calling carrier support the first thing they say about any issue is turn wifi off. I can send an MMS message about 10% of the time without error. It succeeds more often when disabling wifi before attempting to send or receive MMS. This is a huge downer for me and I regret upgrading my phone because I use MMS a lot.

    You know we're in the age of butt hurt fanboys when you have reviewers and Joe Schmoe's, complaining about actually HAVING features on your phone! Imagine buying a Mercedes and complaining that you had LED headlights, navigation, radar cruise control, blind spot monitoring, a moonroof, leather interior, a V12, and autonomous driving capabilities, compared to having none of those things on your Hyundai... oh, and the Hyundai also costs as much as the Mercedes, to boot! Where they do that at? Who complains about having features lol? Fantards, I swear! Don't understand why people are so upset the Samsung is better. Because it isn't made of dentable/scratchable metal??

      Being overloaded with features and not having the hardware to keep up can result in lag during normal use, like you see on the S5. I would rather have a phone that does a few things well, rather than a lot of things poorly.

    • @Forestamp2024
      @Forestamp2024 10 лет назад +2

      davehugstrees Lag is not problem on s5,it is better then htc in all aspects,only thing that on htc is better are front speakers(but at the end i almost never use speakers,only for games,but for music iam using earphones and the other staff,if you want to use speakers in loud environment bunch of speakers wont help you),i wont say build material cause i like s5 material,and my phone is in cover!My opinion,that's why i will buy s5!

      Interesting view Khemistry, re-reading your analogy to cars I believe your associating the S5 to a Mercedes with "all" the features and the M8 to a "Hyundai". If that is correct, I believe you to be mistaken in you analogy of the cars and the phones. There's a reason the phones are made of their materials, do you prefer plastic forks or knives or metals ones when you eat? :)
      And just fyi here's a little Hyundai fanboy info ya regarding the car analogy. www.autoguide.com/manufacturer/kia/2015-kia-k900-review-3760.html
      Kia is the sister company and it has all those features you mentiones and it does NOT cost as much as a Mercedes......jus sayin ;)

      Anyone ever heard of phone cases? Lighter phones also help from shattering, you can RUclips search drop tests. Don't matter what its made of, a case completely changes the durability, and in Samsung's case the lighter material actually helps when combined with a case.

    I played with both at the store. Went with the M8. Why? The GS5 was hideous looking for starters. Not to mention it's still plastic. It still has that cartoony looking screen with oversaturated colors and a bluish tint. The fingerprint scanner and heart monitor are gimmicky. Did I mention it was butt ugly? Anyway the M8 is simply stunning. A work of art. Beautifully designed. Sense is better than ever. Simplistic yet elegant. The speakers are wonderful and screen is gorgeous. Accurate colors, no oversaturation. Real whites, not some blush tint. The only thing where the S5 excels is the camera. But the camera on the M8 isn't bad. It's actually quite decent. It's just a matter of getting the right settings

    Both great phones, both practically the same more or less.
    Samsung is really lacking on the design front though, any flagship phone in my mind (I know its been said) should have a metal casing.

    I had the m8 but returned it. Honestly the only good thing about it is the speakers, which I barely used anyway. The phone was built well, but was extremely slippery. And I just could not take the camera, it just sucked compared to a ton of flagships out there. I'm getting the s5 fir all the great features. I got to play around with one in New york, and the designe is honestly not bad. It's much more grippy, so I won't need a case, unlike the m8. Just thought id through that out there.

      +David coulter gs5 is for performance, you have expandable sd and removable battery which allows for battery swapping plus the s5 is water resistance

    • @svtjon
      @svtjon 8 лет назад

      Lukas Kuipers Do you have an s5? Because if you remove the back you have the removable battery, which when you take off/ gives you access to the sim card, and over the sim card slot is indeed the SD card slot.
      Overall, i cannot goto stock Software as i use Cyanogenmod 12.1. but my phone seemed Hella snappier then the htc one m8. Before you give shit to the S5, please do your research

      +taby448 well yea the it does have an SD, my bad. But i've seen both in action plenty and have concluded that there's no difference in performance. And I have already told you why the s5 is worse IMO.

    • @svtjon
      @svtjon 8 лет назад

      Lukas Kuipers the s5s rear speaker is indeed shit, but the Nexus line isnt an option as i require SD storage for holding all my roms. and i have yet to find an SD card phone with the speaker on the front, the S5 camera is okay but of course thats what buying a camera is for. :p

    coming from an iphone 5 user i really love a phone being very fast and snappy. i love the body of the M8 after looking at it in person in stores, i dont mind having that 4 ultrapixel camera as long as it does the job, i used the GS4 for a couple of months and i absolutely love the multitasking utility in touchwiz and having the finger print scanner is definitely a plus for the GS5. personally i have to choose the m8. i guess you have to use both phones before you can decide which is best for you

    I love the M8's build quality.But the design is not really my type.Like on the back of the phone,the duo camera make it look sort of weird and with the 2 LED light.On the front,the HTC black bar when there is a big HTC logo on the back of the phone.

    Bought a One M8 when my One's charging port died due to neglect on my end. I am currently on Verizon, and I plan on switching soon. The reason I got the One M8 is because it supports my area's refarmed spectrum on a different carrier. That, and I can actually S-Off my One M8. Can't even think of touching the bootloader on the S5.

    Honestly just go into a mobile store and see which one appeals to you more. I was a bit more drawn to the S5, probably because their was much more advertising for it, but I bought the M8 because it is so damn gorgeous and I listen to music ALOT so the m8 was my preferred choice. Also the camera has been upgraded even if it's still 4MP

  • @Nam3Iess
    @Nam3Iess 9 лет назад

    The only things what caught my eyes on the M8 are the front facing speakers. I could care less about the metal body of the device because I'd use something on it because of the scratches, but if I choose the S5 I won't use a case just a screen protector.

    I see all these people talking about cases. I think I'm the only one who never uses a case for anything, yet I've never shattered a phone or iPod yet. Only reason I have a case is because it covers all costs if it does break. So I' thinking on going wih the M8, since I love the design.
