- The same lazy job from Turn 10 as their previous games. The F1 series, Project CARS 2, Nascar series etc. have full animated pit stops which generate excitement and immersion but in Forza Motorsport we get this...

(People have pointed out that the mechanics don't change the tyres in PC2. That's because it was only lap 2 and I hadn't asked for new tyres. There is a better PC2 pit stop in the video below. I just point this out in the interests of fairness to PC2.)
Gran Turismo 4 on the PS2 had animated pit stops. I guess loot boxes and playing dress up are more important at Turn 10.

The said at E3 that they don't have any animated pit stops. Although they clearly stated it, I do not know why would they add it to their trailer, because that's clearly somewhat misleading.

This is something that angers me with game trailers. 'In game footage' doesn't mean 'gameplay footage'. That may just be a cutscene or opening cinematic, not actual gameplay, that the developers used to make the game look more immersive than it is. Developers will deliberately try to make potential customers confuse the two. Idk if thats what happened in this specific circumstance, but it still deceptive

Pit stops are definitely not amazing, but what’s worse, is the amount of bugs 🐛 and times this game freezes or/and crashes. It was rushed for the money and now we have paid for an unfinished game. So unfair and frustrating! 😡💯
Not to mention the crappy loading times. Also, it seems that you can't change the time of day or weather effects in a split screen game.

Whats worse is that Project Cars 2 is a simulator with a main focus point of the realism of the cars handling and how authentic the tracks are not how good a pit stop looks......forza on the other hand pretty much focuses on only looks and even a simulator looks better when it comes to the pits ....

What forza could have done is to force you to go first person. Then you can see just some of the crew working on the tyres. That would have been easyer than making a third person perspektive on all the 700+ cars. Would have given more reality to it.

Xbox and PC only and also I guess I didn't want to be accused of being a Sony fanboy. (I actually have all 3 gens of Xbox and all the Forza games except 7.)

Pawelxx3 Yes it got better visuals but the racing features are just the same with little improvements on weather for example, witch are limited. Forza has become a benchmark for the new consoles that Microsoft has launched, sadly.

New games just amaze me at at how crappy they have become especially in reference to older games.
I think the reason for this isn't because they're lazy, it's because all the career mode, online and league races are just 3 laps or something long and most of the time no one uses simulation damage, it's not present in public lobbies either.
I don't think Forza 7 even has blowover physics and wtf is up with their damage model and shit

Imraan Omar Forza has terrible AI as well. It brakes very early, or in the middle of corners, or on straights. If you turn the difficulty up, the AI don't become better drivers, they just get a cheating speed boost, so they still drive like granny round corners, but turn the 'nitrous' on to boost away from you on straights even though their car is meant to be in the same class. They ram you out of the way if you're on the line they want to use. The AI in this game is like a placeholder for real AI, they never really bothered to develop it properly.
You can't expect them to go out in that weather. They'll catch cold.

Turn 10 wasted everything on the graphics and sounds with the customization. This is why this happened. I am truly saying GT Sport is a better game.
It does make me sad though that GT Sport lacks a normal GT single player career, as well as familiar tracks which are staples of the series. I know they are adding content later which is good, but it won't make up for the career. At least it sounds like the online is miles ahead of Forza's.
I would rather have realistic car sounds than a pit crew. Playground Games messed up their sounds and the viper sounds like it has a fart can.
On top of this hilarious comparison video of marketing to actual gameplay, if you pay close attention, drivatars that pit behind you complete the change instantly and hop right back on the track at full speed. I guess the budget only allowed for outsourcing driver animations and costumes in the menus only. The QA team clearly didn't bother monitoring pit behavior.

That is true, although I prefer the sounds of the cars in Motorsport. The older cars (pre-2000's and 90's) don't sound right in Horizon. Like the '58 Plymouth Fury. I still like the two series though.

I cannot believe f355 challenge was in this video. I have hundreds of hours on that game despite the lack of content. It was so challenging and exciting to get faster and faster in that game. I feel like I grew perfect at that game and it's burned in my memories.

It's kinda amazing how much it still looks like Forza 2, possibly even Forza 1, but I never owned it. It feels like they made a structure and built upon it. That worked well for FM3 and 4, but now the age is really starting to show. You can only iterate so much.
7 actually improved more so than recent games. 7 implemented many new features. I think they intended on adding animated pit crews but just ran out of time. I think creating a full on dynamic weather and track system took up more time than expected.
I managed to get a full refund for Forza 7 and I am so glad. What a fucking disappointment.

I think this has to do something about Forzas ”deal” with different carbrands. I remember that FH3 has all humans behind barriers so you cant run them over etc. Thats also why GTA doesnt have real car brands but copy them.

It does. It has something to do with the fact car manufacturs don't wanna be involved in "killings" in game because it puts them at a bad reputation why they would allow it or something like that. I remember reading an article about it and why FH3 has all humans behind barriers and none walking on the streets. And that's also why GTA has replicas of cars because you can run people over with the cars because theyre fake. :)
It is easy to prevent players from running over pit crew and there are various ways of achieving this, the most obvious one being for the computer to take over driving while you're in the pit lane. Yes, I know manufacturers don't want their virtual cars being used to kill people in games, obviously. But that is NOT why Forza doesn't have pit crews. Please think.

Yeah but nobody has said Turn 10 lack the ability to do it. We know they have the expertise to include animated pit crews. It's just a choice. They chose not to. Not because of manufacturers (virtually every other racing game since the 1980s has pit crews).
What a shame. Instead of actually improving the series (FOV changer, more race feeling, qualifying, penalty system etc.) they gave us lootboxes, stupid homologation system, no classic rivals and fucked VIP buyer. I'm glad I didn't bought this game and atm I'm downloading PC2 hopping it is better with controller, if not I'm gonna refund it. Keep in mind. I was a huge Forza fan and always defended turn10.
Forza is still a great racer despite crappy pit stop.
The one you missed out was Virtua Racing, which not only had animated pitstops but hilariously detailed ones where the rear left tire guy fell over on his ass on every pitstop as you left the pit box. Little details like that stay with you forever hence why I'm remembering it right now.

I'm a die hard Forza fan and it doesn't bother me about pit crew anyways although it looks awesome having that realism in it. I mean (I don't wanna compare old games to new ones but..) I grew up playing Gran Turismo 3 and they didn't have any animated pit crews anyway. It wasn't until 2011 2012 that I played Forza 4 (which also doesn't have any animated pit crews) now the only motorsport game I have is Forza 6.
Honestly in my opinion, although I love to see animated pit crews in a Forza game, at the end of the day, a game is just a game. It's meant for people to play it and have fun

I only played it in the arcade. It was my first time ever playing a driving game with a clutch and stick. It went better than I realistically expected but I was way worse than I hoped to be. The engine sounds were burned into my brain for the next few years.
If you want the engine sound to be burnt into your brain again... Outrun 2 Coast to Coast. Finding a used copy may be difficult since hell I don't even know. But the game is fucking amazing to play!

Gran Turismo 4 did better of this game cause of the animation and Forza is so lazy with this feature. And I play Gran Turismo because the game holds better value than Forza and at least the other games and companies are not lazy.
This was one of the many reasons I returned Forza 7.
