I own a '02' Ford E250, 3/4 ton extended body. 5.4, 2 valve. WITH 331,000 miles on the original, untouched engine and trans. It was a fleet vehicle. I bought it with 153,000 on it. I use MotorKote. Plus Mobil1, 10/30 all synthetic. I'm an old gear head from the 50s/60s. I'm very pleased with MotorKote. BTW, at 78, I still do my own service work on the truck. This old truck always gives me 18 - 20 miles to the gallon.

@@daniellang6112 my only constraint is will it pay for itself. All my cars seems to have too much rust, broken seats, bad injectors, etc and replacing all of those things generally cost half as much as a newer vehicle. Great Job on the Maintenance Regime, probably all that crawling in, on, and under the vehicles all those years has kept you young. Only thing I don't like about MotorKote is the Chlorinated Parrafins in it, if there is a breakthrough on information on when it starts to really break down into an acidic corrosive condition and could drain before that it would be worth the risk. LIke around 2000 miles? 3000, or 5000 would be helpful for useful real world information. Amsoils lawsuit proved these oil treatments with any Chlorinated ingredients are very harmful on copper bearings etc. But at what point? Hopefully not immediately from the start of its usage, though? If I could afford Amsoils full synthetic I doubt if I'd change it for 15,000 miles or more. If I could afford that, I'd invest in also the finest filtering system available, because that Amsoil probably wouldn't be actually wearing out, just getting dirty with contaminates. Long Live the Internal Combustion Engine!!!

Pennzoil, Castrol, Havoline all offer high TBN “Euro spec” oils in 0W40, 5W40, and 5W30 weights. Your “Euro spec” oils will generally have higher levels of detergents and ZDDP than SP the rated oils.
If money is no object Amsoil’s SIgnature Series is about at the top but I personally don’t think it’s necessary to spend the money on them. Royal Purple HPS oils are another very high TBN oil but also hard to get and expensive.
For $22 for 5qts. M1 0W40 is hard to beat. We’ve run it 7-10K miles and the used oil analysis has always come back indicating that the oil was perfectly fine to run much longer.

A cold air system helps if your car is ducted properly and most newer cars are. MotorKote actually did help also. You can check it out being tested on Project Farm here on u tube. Shits expensive though.

Motorkote does not use a oil carrier. You have to use regular oil and the treatment mixes with it and is the carrier. Motorkote by itself will not work. Good luck losing your ride soon.

    • @eby6114

    Want 52 MPG?
Use CERMA it's expensive and it works (just leave the MotorKote in)
Change to the largest Royal Purple oil filter that will fit on your car (part # 20-400) lowering the restriction of the small filter reduces engine drag and increases oil pressure at the bearings.
Put CERMA automatic transmission treatment and AmsOil trans fluid in the transmission...which yields even more MPG than treating the engine.
Use magnets on your oil filter and a MAGNAFILTER to keep iron dust out of the oil.
My 08 Prius has over 200 K and is getting 50.8 MPG right now, that will go to 52-53 in cooler weather with no A/C.

Stop using those additives and just get a high quality oil. A high quality oil will provide the same or higher film strength than these additives you’re using. Also, when using additives, it modifies the chemical makeup of the oil, which can reduce or increase film strength. Overall, it’s a bad idea. I recommend using Ravenol, Quaker State Full Synthetic, Red Line, or Tribodyn oil. These brands all contain some of the best protection in the industry that the additives you’re using can’t beat. Additives are a waste of money when you use a well engineered oil, which already has a robust additive package.

not trying to be a dick, but the once a year oil change is horse shit. if youre worried about evaporation, run shell rotella t6 diesel oil. every 4-5k miles. with 1 year oil changes youre engine has got to be full of carbon. and def burning oil because its becoming acidic... and breaking down over time.. ugh. people i swear to god. another option for GOOD oil, is amsoil.
