You can still design challenging game play with realistic lightsaber.
@@AngelLee162540 so make a totally different game? Notice how on gow3 the game was plastered with enemies to kill, but gow there weren't. It's almost like the style of game you are going for dictates they type of combat that you get. Gow3, hack and slash so plaster it with enemies, over the top combat, etc. Gow, character driven story so toned down qty of enemies, still of combat, etc. But hey let's look at that era shall we. There was this game back then. Phantom menace. The droids had health bars and you couldn't slice them up. Then theres power battles. The droids there had health bars and you couldn't slice them up. Dark forces 2. Health bars, couldn't slice them up. Even force unleashed had health bars and you couldn't slice them up (the occational limb dismembermentis not slicing them up). Meanwhile you guys are trying to say that lightsabers have recently been nerfed. It's just game design. I mean now you nutters are now complaining about how someone can knock a ST our with their fist. FU has them with much much smaller healthbars than the unarmoured rebels but no one complained about that.
This would have been a goldmine if they implemented this. There's no blood because it cauterizes the wound but the satisfaction of cutting enemies in half is just, ahh chef's kiss 😘
there should be blood tho. especially if ur a sadistic sith. look at how Han Solo took Luke's lightsaber to cut open the tauntaun & all of its guts spilled out, even cauterization couldn't keep all of that inside if the wound isn't deep. a sith could use the force to levitate a guy just by his arms & legs, then lightly slide his lightsaber on his belly, & let gravity do the rest. also imagine what force crush would do.
the best mod would be a "all NPC block perfectly if they own a weapon that can block a lightsaber until their stamina bar is depleted" otherwise you 1hit everything on the first hit
is this mod still being worked on/available anywhere?? i know you've mentioned it as a private beta but id love to be able to test/play the game with this mod. my only other option is the alpha mod which seems to only cut troops one way, if you ever publicly release it id love to know! some incredible stuff this is :D
I wish the inquisitor outfit carried over to this one (and more to this version) And godam I wish this “Force unleashed” version of the game came out! I would’ve also (like another comment) got it in a heartbeat
The features shown in this vid would be better served in a reverse horror Star Wars game, where it’s a Sith protagonist creating appalling circumstances for the good guys that makes you really bond and like the good guys, yet wonder what opportunities the bad guy protagonist is gonna have next to wreck havoc on the world before he digs himself into his own personal hell that sees him become a super sith that the good guys narrowly escape at the end of the game. Encountering darth Vader in these video games got close to that feeling/vibe.
Why can't we have this?!? Seriously... There was a game back on the early/mid 2000s, that was like this with realistic lightsaber effects. Including severed body parts, smoke, sparks, melted metal, you could drag your lightsaber across walls and other surfaces would have slash marks. It was one of the Dark Forces Kyle Katarn games, Jedi Academy I believe.
I mean, the force unleashed 2 had something like this and it was rated T from what I remember. You could cut off enemies limbs and head, not to mention disintegration.
Just enable that console command in Dark Forces: Jedi Outcast - activates a system for body part interactions with the lightsaber, which Raven originally developed for Soldier of Fortune 2.
I have still not bought Jedi Survivor because it doesn't have the battle grid mode that was in Fallen Order. Fallen Order modded is easily one of my favorite games mostly for the battle grid mode with infinite spawn points.
A Jedi (or Sith) is supposed to be this insanely powerful opponent especially against mere storm troopers. This is what it should be like and then when the game wants to throw more of a challenge then you face stronger force using opponents, it’s an amazing balance to feel like this unstoppable machine facing low levels and then you put your skills to the test against higher levels. The new Star Wars game coming out is not even close to this and of course the main character has to be a woman and this is coming from a woman not like it should matter anyway.
With SO many talented and devoted FANS of these series. Its sad that what is currently being trotted out with offical license is such an embarrassment.
I mean in realistic case you'll die by one blaster or a hit too. These things are equally lethal. Which would be quite interesting tbh. You'll have to use good reaction but also being a murder machine. Hotline Miami esque
@@disappointedbananas2365nope, in star wars a dumb thing to do if you want to beat a jedi is attack from long range with a blaster. The best way to do it is shoot as close as possible and preferably trying to surround the jedi. "star wars but you play as the bad guy" - Still killing stormtroopers man they really can't catch a break can they? How about one where you are able to whip them into shape and turn them into an effective fighting force? like Empire at War or Battlefront? oh who am I kidding, Disney would rather make a game exactly like this than one where the stormtroopers are any less of a joke than b1 battle droids. at this point the Stormtroopers are the underdogs.
@@Sharp47 that's the problem, they really shouldn't be, there's a massive dissonance between the idea of the Imperial Army (aka the actual cannon fodder) and the Elite Stormtrooper Corps, and how they are often depicted.(going back and forth between being the equivalent of the Marines, to again, being cannon fodder, though that is if the piece of media remembers the regular army even exists, which outside of Andor and Solo, tends to treat the Stormtroopers as the regular army.) I've long maintained that they SHOULD be treated as the evil twins of the Clone Troopers, held to the same standard, required to pass the same training exams such as the Citadel Challenge to qualify, (those who don't make the cut have better luck with the regular army) sadly only Andor and Solo seem to go with this interpretation. Making them more useless than B1 battle droids kills the adventure, and Lowers the stakes far too far. Remember all the times the Clones go up against a saber wielder in the Clone Wars, they tend not to fare much better than Stormtroopers anyhow. So there's really no reason to disparage stormtroopers other than "lol memes"
I agree with you 100%. But thats basically what they are since the first film by George Lucas. Meme material. Also their aim - is there even any basic standart that these troopers should have when it comes to hitting a target? 🤣🤣
@@Sharp47 Have you seen the EC Henry video on the topic? He points out their aim is, by real world standards, inhumanly good. Especially when we are just talking about the original trilogy, before all the memes came about. Even then there's some interesting "shots to hits" counters in a number of videos and it shows Stormtroopers as being more accurate than any real world military.
I'm sure the third game will have these mechanics and it will still be rated T. It doesn't need to be rated M because there isn't any gore. Even the Lego games have dismemberment. Being OP for a little bit is fun which is why they do it in action games at the start, then you lose that power and you have the challenge of getting it back. They know if you have it for the whole game you will stop.
@@Friendlyfirefish Disagree, saying having op weapons give no challenge is just lack of creativity. Just look at the Battle of Geonosis, even with an army of Jedi with lightsabers that can cut through nearly everything, many Jedi still got slaughtered. Lightsaber can't do anything in the face of overwhelming fire power. Maybe in the game you have to think of ways to separate enemies into smaller groups, take them down one by one, strategies.
I would love a Star Wars game with Shadow of War combat and nemesis system. I wouldn’t want dismemberment every swing but brutal execution moves.
you can chop people up In the game just by changing the settings
If they did this in a star wars movie it would be the highest grossing movie of all time.
It needs gangsta Mace Windu with Sam Jackson's "muthafucka"
"Just a little off the top"
The barber: 1:36
This would have been a goldmine if they implemented this. There's no blood because it cauterizes the wound but the satisfaction of cutting enemies in half is just, ahh chef's kiss 😘
there should be blood tho. especially if ur a sadistic sith.
look at how Han Solo took Luke's lightsaber to cut open the tauntaun & all of its guts spilled out, even cauterization couldn't keep all of that inside if the wound isn't deep.
a sith could use the force to levitate a guy just by his arms & legs, then lightly slide his lightsaber on his belly, & let gravity do the rest. also imagine what force crush would do.
oh yeah also something a lot of ppl seem to not know (bcuz why would u lol) is that blood still seeps & oozes through cauterized wounds
I want a game where we play a SITH! I'm tired of always being on "the good side" in everything.
I’ve never played a Star Wars game I would buy this
Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast had this 20 years ago!
❤
Thank you! I knew someone here would remember. Even then I think it was a case that ghoul mode needed to be enabled or something.
This is still one of my favorite games. Jedi Outcast was incredible and wayyyy ahead of its time.
Holy shit you got me hyped up for nothing lol 😹😹 wish star wars would release a movie like this.. this is what people really want!
watching this feels so satisfying, I need to play this one day
Now thats more like it, a proper lightsaber. Now it just needs less movement in the moves and we have a decent darth vader
the best mod would be a "all NPC block perfectly if they own a weapon that can block a lightsaber until their stamina bar is depleted" otherwise you 1hit everything on the first hit
is this mod still being worked on/available anywhere?? i know you've mentioned it as a private beta but id love to be able to test/play the game with this mod. my only other option is the alpha mod which seems to only cut troops one way, if you ever publicly release it id love to know! some incredible stuff this is :D
Jedi academy and outcast would be outclassed with this type of graphic violence! This would be the best lightsaber combat ever!
Star Wars Jedi academy was the only SW game with lightsaber dismemberment that I can remember.
Yep. IIRC it was possible to somehow enable dismemberment (with console commands) in the sequel as well.
There was no sequel to Jedi academy
@@silentgrind34 Jedi Academy is the sequel to Jedi Outcast.

Rockstar should make a star wars game. It would be epic
This is basically what Jedi knight outcast 2 is like
And Jedi Academy
21 years later and we still have to look back when it was great
This is awesome. I remember how excited I was to play a Star Wars game until I realized all the lightsabers do is scratch enemies
I wish the inquisitor outfit carried over to this one (and more to this version)
And godam I wish this “Force unleashed” version of the game came out! I would’ve also (like another comment) got it in a heartbeat
M rated: 👈 on the coms now with my non existent gun
For lightsiders, it would coexist well with a system of diplomacy. Violence is supposed to be the last resort for a jedi.
good to have a weapon that can deliver quick and painless death skillfully in your pockets

Love this mod! Release date?
Force unleashed 2 had dismemberment I believe. One of my fave game series.
Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight and Mysteries of the Sith both had this.
Because instantly killing everyone in one hit usually sucks
@natmarelnam4871 That's right, and these games were totally awesome.
Yeah. Those were great.
@natmarelnam4871you remember those jet troopers with the heavy machine guns? Or that train mission with the snipers?
I wish they would! It’s far more believable than having a Jedi apprentice get beat up by a man with a club.
I mean, the force unleashed 2 had something like this and it was rated T from what I remember. You could cut off enemies limbs and head, not to mention disintegration.
Where do I put my bank account info so I can get this version?
Just enable that console command in Dark Forces: Jedi Outcast - activates a system for body part interactions with the lightsaber, which Raven originally developed for Soldier of Fortune 2.
"A Star Wars game where you play as a bad guy...." So The Force Unleashed, got it.
Let's just face it, large corporations like Disney are never gonna let us have anything nice
In the normal game, I don't understand why they made the robots difficult to deal with, even though Kal uses a lightsaber😒
I have still not bought Jedi Survivor because it doesn't have the battle grid mode that was in Fallen Order.
Fallen Order modded is easily one of my favorite games mostly for the battle grid mode with infinite spawn points.
This video is better than all new SW movies combined.
This needs to happen. But it has to be balanced. You get hit one time by those blasters and you're going down also.
I would REALLY like to know, how you did this. Would you by any chance make a making-of or something like that?
The cutscenes makes this look even more badass. You can feel the fear of facing this dude as a normal soldier. Id just run away.
no matter if the dismemberment is in the game or not i still had the best 19 hours of my life playing jedi survivor
GODAMN this is satisfying to watch🕊️😌💯, remember the day when you play a Star Wars game and it made you feel like one??
Am I really going to be the first to mention the lack of a blaster when Cal threatens that officer?
What can I say? Finger guns are just as dangerous and scary 😬😬😬
You don’t know the power of the dark side.
so many years waiting for this kind of effect.. jesus i lost fait at some point back as a child but now i`m so hyped yay
Take my money now dammit!! 😮
This is so sick. Like a better force unleashed
No such thing
Get this man on the next Ubisoft trail for Cal Kestis
This was very very very very well put together!!!! Gave me so much motivation. Bout to rip 100 push ups right now !
i like when the droids go floppy lol
A Jedi (or Sith) is supposed to be this insanely powerful opponent especially against mere storm troopers. This is what it should be like and then when the game wants to throw more of a challenge then you face stronger force using opponents, it’s an amazing balance to feel like this unstoppable machine facing low levels and then you put your skills to the test against higher levels. The new Star Wars game coming out is not even close to this and of course the main character has to be a woman and this is coming from a woman not like it should matter anyway.
Classic Starkiller voice🤘
I like how he's just pointing his finger at the admiral and it still scares him
With SO many talented and devoted FANS of these series. Its sad that what is currently being trotted out with offical license is such an embarrassment.
*Jedi outcast and Academy: “Look what they need to mimic even a fraction of our power”
Thats really great. Gameplay wise i think oneshoting every enemy would probably get boring at some point. Still, i would play it
I mean in realistic case you'll die by one blaster or a hit too. These things are equally lethal. Which would be quite interesting tbh. You'll have to use good reaction but also being a murder machine. Hotline Miami esque
Try Purity perk in Jedi Survivor. You die by one saber slash and two blaster bolts. Its anything but boring
@@disappointedbananas2365🤓
Didn't the Jedi Knight series managed to pull off the one hit kill combat?
@@disappointedbananas2365nope, in star wars a dumb thing to do if you want to beat a jedi is attack from long range with a blaster. The best way to do it is shoot as close as possible and preferably trying to surround the jedi. The longer the distance the most time you give the jedi to react with their above human reflexes to deflect.
RIP to these Scout Troopers that all got stabbed, you served the empire well

This technically wouldn’t be M rated since we don’t have blood
One cut one kill…
Why would this be m-rated? You were able to cut off limbs in the force awakens

@Sharp47 I think he meant Force Unleashed 2
And the Jedi Academy games from 2 decades ago...

Yes, please we have the processor power and 3d physics models now… please make it a toggle-able feature. My wife will hate it… but I would love it.
"star wars but you play as the bad guy"
- Still killing stormtroopers
man they really can't catch a break can they? How about one where you are able to whip them into shape and turn them into an effective fighting force? like Empire at War or Battlefront?
oh who am I kidding, Disney would rather make a game exactly like this than one where the stormtroopers are any less of a joke than b1 battle droids.
at this point the Stormtroopers are the underdogs.
Stormtroopers are basically canon fodder. Or in this case, Imperial BBQ
@@Sharp47 that's the problem, they really shouldn't be, there's a massive dissonance between the idea of the Imperial Army (aka the actual cannon fodder) and the Elite Stormtrooper Corps, and how they are often depicted.(going back and forth between being the equivalent of the Marines, to again, being cannon fodder, though that is if the piece of media remembers the regular army even exists, which outside of Andor and Solo, tends to treat the Stormtroopers as the regular army.)
I've long maintained that they SHOULD be treated as the evil twins of the Clone Troopers, held to the same standard, required to pass the same training exams such as the Citadel Challenge to qualify, (those who don't make the cut have better luck with the regular army) sadly only Andor and Solo seem to go with this interpretation.
ESRB set a precedent already by rating Force Unleashed T. So it's definitely doable, and considering Clone Wars has this already and that's on Disney Plus, I really wouldn't be surprised. I mean Cal was already torturing a dude in this game.
Just waiting on a Pro Sith game.
I have to say, I would really like to see a Jedi who lost his way after Order 66. They’ve essentially just sacrificed their soul to fight the Empire, like Luthen in Andor.
Reason why Loved the SW 3 Revenge of the Sith PS2 game was becuase of the wide variety of enemies n the mutaliation involved
We need a Bad Ass Game with Dark Side Playthrough + Dismemberment
Bro doesn’t know about the force unleashed 💀
Honestly if the gameplay was just this even without a lot of blood and gore, I would still buy it In an instant
